Well, that was over quick. Next time I think I need to practice expanding more before the game starts. Sharivar seems to be more difficult to expand on than other maps sometimes.

I can forge Dwarden Hammers in exchange for 10 Water/Fire gems . Is anyone is interested, send me a private or an email :)

Is anyone is interested in some other items (Constr.4) we can talk too and I might forge them for you in exchange for W/F gems.

Agusti, your price is ridiculously low. Is your mage-time worth nothing? Agartha will not stoop to such unfair trade practices.

My Forge Bonus is 50%, that's why my price is ridiculously low. My Warrior Chief has a 25% of bonus in forging and if you give him a DH his bonus is then 50%. ;)

I don't want to trade for long, only a couple of turns so don't worry too much. I will raise my prices later in order to don't disturb your trade. It's ok to you?

Sharivar does have a lot of rough terrain, so it can definitely be slow going moving across areas you've already been through. It shouldn't have unusually hard indies, but indies can be pretty luck of the draw anyyway.

Re: EA Land nations Only... Game Name: Landlubber:

Looking to buy: Flaming Skull. Willing to pay in w/e/a/b, and/or cover the actual forging cost in f/d (with other gems to cover the difference between forging cost and price).

Previously offered prices still stand.

Note: I can forge boots of quickness, swords of swiftness, and other fun water forgings. All negotiable in pearls or d.

Gems are available directly (w/e/a) for s,d.

I now have bloodslaves again... Willing to trade for s, d negotiable (you'll get a much better price with s).

Squirrelloid January 27th, 2010 06:43 PM

Re: EA Land nations Only... Game Name: Landlubber:

Agarthan smiths have been exceptionally busy recently, and thus we need to alter the terms of our trading policies. We will try to accomodate any current negotiations at previously stated prices and policies, and apologize for the inconvenience.

Barring any deals already under negotiation, hammers are no longer up for sale at the previous terms, nor are other earth forgings. Sorry, but Agartha does have resource limits, however apparently large our coffers. Any earth items would require payment in earth gems at standard prices (ie, list cost to forge, pre-hammer), and may require advance payment to insure i have the gems to forge with.

Water gems and forgings are still available for trade. Up to W3 available.

Nature forgings now available. Up to N3 available.

Accepting s,d,e in payment, in that order of preference. All prices are a number of gems equal to the standard forging cost (ie, without a hammer).

Is anybody ready to go to 36 hours?

Everytime I turn around I am getting a turn from here and if I don't do it right then, I am afraid I will stale.

I would like to go to 36 hour quickhost...

Eh? It's no water nations, not no water period.

Re: EA Land nations Only... Game Name: Landlubber:

"There will be NO water expansion or entering the water for any reason"

It states that in the OP. What part of that statement don't you understand?

Frozen Lama February 2nd, 2010 08:36 PM

Re: EA Land nations Only... Game Name: Landlubber:

he is correct. the water provinces are to remain unconquered. seeing as how its a little late for that, i will ask you to tax them at 200% until so that the unrest causes you to have no income, and hopefully an event will claim them.... i just hope that you didn't get any sites.

and yes, i'd say the OP was pretty damn clear about this. bad stattis bad. :(

statttis February 2nd, 2010 08:45 PM

Re: EA Land nations Only... Game Name: Landlubber:

Oh dear :cold:

I guess I forgot that part of the rules. I was wondering why Agartha hadn't moved into the water yet...

I hate to get an unfair advantage. I've only been in the water a couple turns so I can calculate the income+gem income from them, waste it, then abandon the water. Or should I just set myself AI?

Re: EA Land nations Only... Game Name: Landlubber:

I don't suppose anyone can send horror/lesser horror there?

Frozen Lama February 2nd, 2010 09:00 PM

Re: EA Land nations Only... Game Name: Landlubber:

no, just do as i suggested. tax it at 200 till its getting you nothing. the gems on the other hand.... hmmm i guess alchemize it? then waste it?waste the gold if you can. i'm not going to like ban you or anything.

statttis February 2nd, 2010 09:21 PM

Re: EA Land nations Only... Game Name: Landlubber:

My estimate of what I've gotten from the underwater provinces is about 1000 gold (450 + 350 + 200) and 4E, 4W, 1N gems. I'll set taxes on underwater to 0 so I get no income, build a couple labs underwater to get rid of the money I've earned, and put the gems on an indie commmander then drown him. Somebody will cast send lesser horror on 79 and 100 to stop my gem income (I'll provide the slaves).

Sound acceptable?

Frozen Lama February 2nd, 2010 09:25 PM

Re: EA Land nations Only... Game Name: Landlubber:

well except that no one can cast lesser horror but me, and i'm not there in the research tree. unless someone is hiding something. lol

Re: EA Land nations Only... Game Name: Landlubber:

Are you currently the weakest player on the graphs? Or the weakest player who borders your enemies? Then you can and should expect that people will gang up on you to get a piece of your territory unless you can convince them through diplomatic means that you are worth more to them alive. Ganging up on the weakest player isn't cowardice, it's the most intelligent thing to do, and usually happens without people even planning it.

Sigh.........I trust Statttis to work it out and be honorable about it, and I am sure there are some that can verify it.

I maybe able to do the horror thing, let me chaeck and I will let you know this turn. The problem is sneaking there.

I am setting the turn to 36 hours effective NOW.

Squirrelloid February 3rd, 2010 03:46 PM

Re: EA Land nations Only... Game Name: Landlubber:

Ghoul31:
(1) You never approached me diplomatically. One might think that, if one should find oneself bordering a powerful nation, one might at least attempt to find out their intentions rather than blithely assuming they were peaceful, if not attempt to get assurances as to those intentions.
(2) I approached you for a bribe to avoid destroying you. Tribute, if you will. You responded with demands. Needless to say, I was not impressed.
(3) Ermor was going to roll over you anyway, why shouldn't I get some provinces while you're on the way out? You didn't even attempt to secure me as a war ally against Ermor. Regardless of whether it would have worked or not, you certainly should have tried, as your survival was conditional on my willingness to go to war with Ermor.

I'd blame your current predicament on a total failure of diplomacy, not some 'everyone gangs up on the weak guy' mentality.

no, you saw I was fighting one versus two, so you decided to make it one versus three. Three versus one isn't fun or challenging.

I don't understand why nobody wants to have fun, challenging battles.

Are you including me in the three? Didn't you own all of my provinces, including capital and barring ongoing sieges, at some point?
You agreed on "some kind of alliance" with me without trying to discuss the terms of it then atacked me while I was building up forces elsewhere.

I'm definietly not one of those who are ganging upon you, I'm just trying to keep playing :p

Challenging battles are the result of a failure of strategy.

I gave you an out and you refused to pay tribute to the might that is Agartha. Instead you spit in our face and slapped away the olive branch with your impetuous demands. Now you pay the ultimate penalty.

You seriously thought we were just going to watch while our neighbors put an end to you and reaped all the benefits when you've done nothing to earn our friendship? Foolish.

"Strategy without tactics is the slowest route to victory. Tactics without strategy is the noise before defeat."

"Thus it is that in war the victorious strategist only seeks battle after the victory has been won, whereas he who is destined to defeat first fights and afterwards looks for victory."

"One who cannot be victorious assumes a defensive posture; one who can be victorious attacks.... Those who excel at defense bury themselves away below the lowest depths of Earth. Those who excel at offense move from above the greatest heights of Heaven."

Ghoul i know how you feel. in my first 4 mp games, i was ganged up on early in 3 of them. one of them included two 3-1 gangbangs. honestly all i can tell you is that i was forced to learn diplomacy. i don't like it much, but you gotta do it.

and also, Marverni has an unfortunate reputation which leads to it getting a disproportional amount of gangs.

statttis February 3rd, 2010 08:34 PM

Re: EA Land nations Only... Game Name: Landlubber:

I've played a few games with ghoul and (through no particular fault of his own) he's ended up on the wrong end of team gankfests. I was on the giving end of at least 1 of them :p. So it's easy to understand why he might be upset.

I'm not sure you get to pull the reputation card when one of the 'gankers' is Agartha ;)

I'm just saying, by that logic Yomi should still be alive and I should've been ganked hard.

That was map placement on Yomi, he never had a chance from turn 3. No fault of his own.

Re: EA Land nations Only... Game Name: Landlubber:

What triggered the gang bang is not Marverni's reputation, it is that ghoul attacked me first. Making the first move is like calling "I'm at war now, I'm weaker, hit me", it is true for any nation in any position in this game. Attacking one neighbour should only be done when you have the others secured, be it by force or diplomacy.

Squirrelloid February 4th, 2010 06:08 PM

This is pretty much true, my main concern was if Marverni managed to completly conquer Tir na Nog, I would have been hemmed in by two nations which had significant size advantages over my empire. Leaving Marverni to conquer TNN would have been suicide from my point of view, intervention was a no brainer.
