Re: Mind Blade - Multiera Random nations (started)

EA Pangaea cares somewhat about treaties, but about own survival it cares even more. We signed NAP with mictlans, but their behavior was too provoking. The barbarian invasion allowed them to take one of our provinces while our forces were elsewhere, then they took another neutral province same turn we invaded in it, after that mictlans were "smart" enough to build a temple and a castle in that province near our own castle. Overall, at our opinion mictlans invested too much on early rush on neutral lands (without thinking about interests of others), otherwise having somewhere two times as much lands as EA Pangaea at the beginning of our war they won't have so much trouble fighting us. The pitfull results of mictlans warfare against our forces shows that the division of lands between us and them was not fair. It would be a grave decision to allow mictlans have time to gather fruits from such rush, so EA Pans decided to attack, rather than loose any reasonable chances for winning in several months.

Re: Mind Blade - Multiera Random nations (started)

well its usually customary to give a 3-turn warning before breaking a NAP. That's what the "3" means in NAP-3.

yandav March 30th, 2010 04:52 PM

Re: Mind Blade - Multiera Random nations (started)

We agreed on a NAP3, and I wasn't the one who made the offer!

Zapmeister March 31st, 2010 01:19 AM

Re: Mind Blade - Multiera Random nations (started)

It's not "wrong" to break a NAP - you just need to understand and accept the consequences of doing it.

Those consequences are that people will know that you break NAPs, and be less inclined to trust the NAPs they've signed with you.

Re: Mind Blade - Multiera Random nations (started)

I am playing MA Pangaea and require a sub. I am having trouble finding one - if anyone here can think of a player out there who has an irrational need to get some relatively undemanding Pangaea-y [sp?] action - point them this direction as I can give them a short fix (3 or 4 turns max).

I will have the current turn in today and hope to be able to announce a sub to play MA Pangaea for the subsequent 2 or 3 turns.

Re: Mind Blade - Multiera Random nations (started)

2 Zapmeister: I understand the consequences, I am satisfied with them for now and I think I would be satisfied with them in future.

2 yandav: I made the offer, but I didn't thought you would wipe out strong neutrals which were much closer for me, than for you, also you should let me retake province that was taken by barbarians. At first months of war I invaded same provinces which I planned when I suggest NAP for you, in that time they were neutral, closer to me and well guarded. It's your rush saved many maenads from being killed by neutrals, it's you saved my money by building castle on land that was close to my borders when we signed pact. By too fast enclosing to my borders you saved my resourses and spent yours, and leaved me no logical choice but to spent my forses to attack your territories. Well, you've done well in case I would keep agreement - your faction would be one of the strongest, my one of the weakest. So I choosed a worse reputation than certain defeat. And I think that decision was predictable.

Kref April 1st, 2010 05:32 AM

Re: Mind Blade - Multiera Random nations (started)

P.S. I think that I don't want reputation like "sign with him NAP and do completly anything, just don't invade his territory" anyway.

I may have found a sub for MA Pangaea.

Hopefully hosting will not need to be delayed over the course of next week - I have sent in the current turn.

Sub found

Septimius Severus will be subbing for MA Pangaea for the next 2 or 3 turns.

Thankyou Septimius.

MA Pangaea has returned to its previous management (me).

My public thanks to Septimius for generously agreeing to sub.

There would be holidays in my country soon. I wouldn't be able to sent turns from april 30 upto may 6. If there would be others bizy at this time I suggest to make a pause in the game, otherwise I ask to increase interval between turns in this period, I think it's possible to make one turn before this dates. I can ask my brother to make a turn but he won't spent much time doing it, also he is a far less experienced player than I.

I ask to make turns 24 hours longer from now on until I'll post that I'm here again (it would be on the next week). My brother will make turn or two for me.

MA Arco bids Au revoir. Hats off to Jomon for handing me my hat :hurt:. I could not scratch his pretender but I did manage to give him more horror marks than Joan Rivers.

Never had a game where I was given two winged helmets on consecutive turns via random events. That took some sting off the turn 2 brigand event in my Cap. I'm a so so early expander at best and the brigand recession did not help. (Expansion went waaaay better in my practice game). Anyway, good luck all.

Are we going to have to wait a week for LA Ryleh to stale for the 14th time ?

I vote for the forced host - unless I have the wrong Ryleh ...

Beat me to it! Can this staling ryleh be set to ai??? Otherwise ya force host!

Kref asked for a pause until may 6. Hes Pangaea.

Ill force host and extend that until the 6th. I dont know wich one of the rliehs is stalling. Is not possible looking at the stale table. If someone knows tell me.

I think we could probably force host as Ryleh is staling again and is also out of the game (has no provinces left).

Re: Mind Blade - Multiera Random nations (started)

And so it came to be.

The wild dog, aka the Ghost General amongst the peasantry, aka Wang Yu was finally mortally wounded and defeated by a small elite strike force hand picked by Hannibal himself!

No longer will the people of Pythium need to fear the T'ien Chi god, as he is now blinded, feeble minded, crippled, and most importantly dead. :hurt:

And what better time for such an event to occur than during the summer months long celebrated by the followers of the small sect of the Solar Bull. Truly now the sect has less of a hold on the peoples of Pythium as this tremendous event came about by the Lord of the Serpent Cult! :angel

On top of that there is also the resounding success of the newly created Hydra-Force-Delta who dominated a force fourteen times it's size! When news of that victory reached the capital the lively celebration already underway reached a frenzy!

Truly the Summer of Fourth Year has been a glorious month for the people of Pythium! :D

Re: Mind Blade - Multiera Random nations (started)

I think Torin can force hosting when only Jomon left. The fact that we always wait for Jomon and the speed (seen on the score graphs) with which Marington eats it clearly shows that Sir_Dr_D (player of Jomon) abandonded game for some time, thus he doesn't play according to Baalz good player pledge.

Sir_Dr_D May 19th, 2010 01:40 PM

Re: Mind Blade - Multiera Random nations (started)

Sorry about that. I have been busy with things lately, and the time when the turns now host I find awkward. The last turn I submitted about 1 minute too late. I did not abandaded the game. I just put a lot of pressure on myself, and thus find doing turns stressfull, and delay doing turns. It was only the last turn where I staled.

I am mostly beaten in this game, but things are probaly too early yet to put things to AI. Still it is best if I do so. Sorry about that. Once I get home I will set myself to AI.

Kref May 19th, 2010 07:32 PM

Re: Mind Blade - Multiera Random nations (started)

Well sorry to see you go AI Dr D, but yes the turns do take some time to do, especially when you have a few games going and/or alot happening in real life.

Thanks for the interesting and challanging game so far, I have a new found respect for Jomon, and up to only a few turns ago didn't know how I was going to counter those nasty ethereal thugs of yours and thought I was going to be going down in quick order.

You easily countered everything I had earlier tried and certainly kept me on my toes.

Good Game ; )

Mictlan leaved us, but he fought ferociosly.
His mages will stay for long in hall of fame - they killed much of my chaff, which tried to go through his sacreds and summons during assaults on his capital.

That is what YOU say :D

i did not expect such a strong defence, especially as you were at war with pythium, i was never able to get a hold on your empire, so it was just a matter of time until you won. But i think you have now some sick mages running around:)

Well LA Pan 'forgot' about our NAP he claims and launched a full scale attack this turn.

Apsophos June 16th, 2010 05:29 AM

Re: Mind Blade - Multiera Random nations (started)

Two things.

First, I remembered there was one of my first nieghbours I had no NAP with and I was dead sure it was Marignon. This will teach me to check my MP history. I don't like to ba a backstabber, when EA Pan and I attacked Mictlan I formally broke the NAP whereas EA Pan didn't, and Mictlan's player rightfully complained.
Considering the game stated Diplomacy to be non-binding (well... "private" means I could claim we had no NAP and be right) and you lead the game in most aspects I will continue my attack, I'm sure you'll put these SCs to better use than mine.

Second, I'm leaving tomorrow until monday. In that time I will have absolutely no computer access and probably won't be able to play even monday. I would prefer to delay the game until tuesday night after this turn, which I'm playing right now, but you might prefer to find a sub temporary or permanent, to punish me for being a backstabber.
(for those interested, I'll be at Hellfest Open Air, www.hellfest.fr)

I also won't be able to play from night before friday up to tuesdays or maybe wensdays evening. I ask to make a pause up to the evening of wensday. If machaka and pithium would sent their turns really soon, then I would make a turn quickly enough and so concluding Apsophos would be able to make turn in tuesday I won't delay the game for long.
