Juffos has asked me to sub for him in your game while he is away, I have agreed (I've just sent him PM confirming it few minutes ago). I don't have his nation's info yet. Once I will have it I should be able to submit turn for his nation quckly.

I have submitted my turn for this host, but I might need a +12h extension for the next turn (turn 10), as it is midsummer festival time here and I'll be gone for at least late saturday evening.

Unfortunately, I'm going to be out of town from this Thursday till Monday evening because I have a wedding out of town that I have to go to. I dunno what is the standard procedure here, I wasn't expecting to be gone that long. :(

I have been asked by stagger lee to substitute for 2-3 turns, which I am happy to do as a favor for the players.

I am emailing the admin my email address - I'd ask him to send me a turn and bear with me a bit as I try to figure the nation, position out.

Also - if people would email me the statuses of alliances etc that would be good =)

I ran into this once as well (and the game died as well as yours is gonna die) and PM'ed llamabeast about inconvenient victory condition choosing but he didn't seem to react. The problem is when you set both "VPs in capitals" and "no VP victory" during game creation it actually sets victory condition to 2 VP.

Ok, so I was able to change it in a hotseat game I just created. (Skipping the details about how I did it, so nobody gets funny ideas about editing turn files, hehe).

I can explain it in PM in case LLama or somebody else is willing to fix the game. Or I can do it myself if they send me the file via email.

I think I can simply modify current file so we can keep playing as if nothing happened in the first place.

chris, fatherland file is needed only by server. It shouldn't be distributed to players.

I've got no problem letting Noobliss try whatever he has in mind, but I don't think it matters anymore. Two stales last turn, one because the player probably figures the game is over, and the other because Ulm has not been given back to CoyotetheClever.

I think if anyone is interested in restarting this game, we ought to talk about it here. I vote to abandon and restart. Hopefully with all the original players.

And to legolasjrt, this sounds like a mistake I could have made easily enough. Just about everybody on irc has a war story of this happening. What do you think about restarting?

The stales aren't the real problem, the fact that the game will end as soon as anybody takes anybody else's cap is the problem. And that can't be fixed by a rollback.

It can be fixed by changing one byte from 02 to, say, 06.

Stales won't be fixed though; I believe we've gone beyound the point of no return, so screw this game. A pity, of course.

Grijalva, are you storming Pan this turn? I guess I'd like to see the mechanic when a game shuts itself down, but I'm not really attached to the idea. I'm still doing my turns because I don't know for sure what will happen, and I've had terrific luck with sites and so hoping a solution can be found.

What do you guys think?

yeah I'm storming Pangaea this turn, I would agree to finishing the game or whatever people want to do. I might try to rejoin as Bandar Log though (if I can, or a different nation) since Ashdod isn't much fun to play.

Well, as you all can see I have failed to successfully storm Pan's fort this turn; too much chaff dying caused my heavies to autorout :doh:.

I don't know what the status of the game is then, are we all just waiting for me to finish off Pan and thus end the game? If so it may be another turn or two...

I really don't care anymore, and since I'm the only one who put in a turn last time, I'll give it 12 hrs to hear opposing arguments, and then shut down the game. I found the Tower of the Silver Order on turn 11 and Castle Arcanum on turn 15. I wish there had been some way to put those to work for me.

If 50% of the original players want to restart with the same conditions, I will start a new thread and put a game up with reserved spots. Respond here in the next two days if you are interested.

OK, Vendetta is gone. Grijalva & Greyjoy, same settings does not have to mean same nation, and I wouldn't want to lock into a map before we know how many of us there are. I will wait until tomorrow, to see if more of our original lineup is interested. I think we may have a game yet...
