Re: Scourge of Nations

Personally I have no problems with the current 26h timer but I wouldn't mind a change to 48 hours given the above two requests for it.

Don't be shy. Who was the Marignon's Nemesis?

Utgard :)

Hoplosternum December 13th, 2010 06:09 PM

Re: Scourge of Nations

And thanks to my first opponent Narushima :) It could have gone either way. At one point my main army was cut off behind enemy lines and had taken a mauling from a tough PD. My main income province had been lost to the Count and his spies had just started causing problems. Marignon then moved his larger blocking army to cover his capital and my army escaped. After that, even though he chased me all the way home, I always thought I should win as I was getting closer to my reinforcements and my recruitable Thugs give me an advantage in a low magic world compared to his mages.

Narushima December 13th, 2010 07:20 PM

Re: Scourge of Nations

Well, once I was right next to your home province, I realised you had a serious edge, military-wise, compared to me, so I didn't know what to do. I lost my focus there.
And the fact that I lost two turns didn't help considering the scope of the game.
But still, that was well played.

Galou December 14th, 2010 04:45 AM

Re: Scourge of Nations

Ok, Marignon's name is now forgotten except in some Utgard's drinking songs.
Thanks Narushima.

I update the score both in the first post of this thread and at the game's page on Llamaserver.

Re: Scourge of Nations

Is everyone else able to play during the holidays? I'll be away from 20 to 25 december, meaning I can do a turn 20 december early in the morning and the next one 25 december in the afternoon maybe. A delay would be good if possible, otherwise I'll try to find a sub or worst case stall 2 turns.

Galou December 17th, 2010 04:12 PM

Re: Scourge of Nations

No stale if you asked for a delay, we are not so barbaric.

...and I will not be at home for 2 weeks, starting this sunday. During the second week, I could send my turns.
I will rise the delay during this period.

zegc-ben December 24th, 2010 05:53 AM

Re: Scourge of Nations

Soory for the delay, I had very little internet access those last days so I didn't realised until today that the .2h file I had sent 2 days ago was corrupted. I just resent it and the turn must be processing now.

Danakh January 3rd, 2011 03:53 PM

Re: Scourge of Nations

Galou have some problem with is computer, so he asks me to handle the game administration. If you need a delay, pm me instead of him

I wait confirmation from him that we need a sub to replace him ... (or the delay while he will be out)

Danakh January 4th, 2011 01:39 PM

Re: Scourge of Nations

OK we will seek for a sub for this game

Galou played Caelum, and not performing bad as far as i know. We are turn 29, everything is still open. Caelum has only one stall several turn ago.

Corinthian January 5th, 2011 01:13 PM

Re: Scourge of Nations

I could throw out a message to Marignions former player, Narushima. Maybe he is interested in returning. I'll do that now.

Narushima January 5th, 2011 01:57 PM

Re: Scourge of Nations

I don't think I'm going to have a lot of free time in the coming weeks, so I'll have to pass the occasion, sorry.

Herode January 5th, 2011 02:50 PM

Re: Scourge of Nations

Foocking froggies, always delaying and staling :D

Galou could lower his computer failures, should he only think about studying in depth the Infinite Wisdom hidden in the crytic verses of Mallarme (private joke inside, ok ? ;) ).

Anyway, I can sub Caelum until Galou's return, if you don't have a better candidate.

Corinthian January 5th, 2011 03:49 PM

Re: Scourge of Nations

That would be great:)

I think Danakh could provide the details.

Danakh January 5th, 2011 03:55 PM

Re: Scourge of Nations

Perfect Herode, i'll see with you by pm

Danakh January 5th, 2011 06:14 PM

Re: Scourge of Nations

I added 48h to the timer to let Herode join us, feel free to not use this extra time ;)

Herode January 5th, 2011 06:46 PM

Re: Scourge of Nations

All right, ladies and gentlemen. Please let me know (here or by PM) any current treaties between you and Caelum so I can take them into account before planning my moves.

See you soon on the battlefields !
H.

Who kill Arcoscephale ?

Not that I care about the death of a false god, but Galou ask me to track the points for the game ;)

Re: Scourge of Nations

Pangaea hold his capitol, but midgard took his last province. (Yea, I scout a lot)

Corinthian January 11th, 2011 08:23 PM

Re: Scourge of Nations

Looking closer, it seems like Midgard and Pangaea are actually at war with each other. So the capitol might just change hands again soon.

Danakh January 12th, 2011 03:38 AM

Re: Scourge of Nations

Remember to tell here who takes each capitol, killing a player doesn't count.

Hoplosternum January 12th, 2011 03:31 PM

Re: Scourge of Nations

That was Pangaea. Arco ran out of provinces while trying to take it back. And Van had help taking out those last provinces. Maybe your scouting net isn't quite as good as you think ;)

So I think the point goes to Pan.

I didn't think this changes even if Van takes arcos capital now. Only Arco could have taken it back enabling someone else to claim the point? I thought that was the whole point of the scoring. Otherwise you can simply play in cautious/turtling sort of way and as long as your end game is good win by taking over a large portion of the world.

Danakh January 12th, 2011 06:53 PM

Re: Scourge of Nations

Yes, as arco is dead, the point is definitely for Pangaea !

I can't update the first post so i'll update the llama's game page

Galou January 13th, 2011 08:17 AM

Sorry guys for my bail out and thanks Danakh for your commitment.

Thanks for the sub Herode, it is a permanent one. I hope you like the settings.

Well, the settings are not bad but I confess was not planning to take a permanent sub here. I don't have time to play 3 games at once for long.

So if some player wants to try LA Caelum on a viable mid-game position, please PM the admin ASAP. I will be able to sub 'till end of the month at best, no longer.

Ooooooooooooops, holy sheet, you're right. I was looking for Man in the list of nations, when in MA your name is Chelms. My bad, sorry.

Herode,
I will soon have my 6 cores , my new video-card and my three 30".
Why bother to play Dominion anymore?

No, give me two weeks, maybe less, and I could lead my troops to victory!

Re: Scourge of Nations

3 stales for Ulm ...
I set you to AI :/

Glad to see you back Galou :)

Herode January 24th, 2011 02:04 PM

Re: Scourge of Nations

All right, Galou chou, I'll wait for your return. Well, at least I'll try but I don't promise anything : there's a big fat rusty bad guy around here, wandering with cunning mages and derelictant Earth Elementals, who is trying to steal your lands despite all my friendly efforts to promote peace, love and poetry.

That's so weird and rude from him, isn't it ? :o

Olive January 24th, 2011 05:05 PM

The glorious troops of Abysia just captured Ulm's capitol. :)

Incidentally, the two people that have yet to submit their turns, are the people that stalled the two previous turns.

Awund January 25th, 2011 11:29 PM

Re: Scourge of Nations

Sorry about that, I've just submitted my turn. Now we're just waiting for Ulm.

Danakh January 26th, 2011 02:44 AM

Re: Scourge of Nations

I was waiting in case of the player returns, but Ulm should now be computer controlled ...

Danakh January 26th, 2011 02:24 PM

Re: Scourge of Nations

This sucks

I have put Ulm as an IA myself (the player doesn't reply to my pms) and so It tell me that i've used my CD key twice during this turn. So basicaly i've staled this turn :/

Just to tell you, i don't want to rollback for this

But it sucks !

Herode January 26th, 2011 02:56 PM

Re: Scourge of Nations

Indeed. So it would mean that one cannot safely admin and play a game at once ?
No good.
Could deserve something like a bug notification.

Danakh January 28th, 2011 03:39 AM

Re: Scourge of Nations

I postpone next turn until monday evening for Odeoderok

Corinthian January 28th, 2011 04:32 PM

Re: Scourge of Nations

Stupid Troglodytes! You are not welcome in Agartha any more! I don't know whom invited you but you must leave at once! I have already replaced you with Earth Elementals. Much more reliable. And they do not poop in the corridors either.

Also, whats up with the random events in this game? I took a luck/turmoil combo in order to compensate for the lack of magic sites on this map. And what do I get? Troglodytes, and 100+ water gems! Once I got four bad events in a single turn! Well I guess I've gotten a bit of gold to, but still.

Dear admin, I'll need some delay so if you can grant me 12h more hours, it will be nice.

Also, Galou, are you still around or shall I up my call for a sub ? I won't be able to sub here for long now, I'm really short of IRL time.

Danakh February 3rd, 2011 02:14 AM

I'm here...I watch you in the dark.

Well, in fact I have my new computer since yesterday so I could take command for the next turn.
I thank you Herode, I appreciate your sub...I guess how many Air Queens you manage to invoke during my holydays...2? 3? I guess there are not many people left around our great empire.

Corinthian February 3rd, 2011 11:48 AM

Re: Scourge of Nations

Actually, as far as i can tell his empire is of the exact same size as it was when you left. But it does not have the exact same shape.

Herode February 3rd, 2011 05:27 PM

Re: Scourge of Nations

Galou, don't worry, you shall not be disapointed : I've made my best to impersonate your style, wandering randomly around the map and loosing as many battles as possible. Now, that's what I call RP :p

Glad to see you back. I'll send you a few informations by MP.

Have fun and see you later, guys !
H.

Oh yea. I'm supposed to tell when I take another's capitol right? Well last turn, -(Turn 40)- I conquered Mans capitol. He still have 3 other castles but the most important one is now mine.

Hi all,

I'll be taking a week-long holiday from this friday on. Hurmio has kindly agreed to sub for me, if no one objects.
