What if my dominion is stronger than Ermors or R'lyehs? Then their bad effects shouldn't spead right?

Pretender is uploaded. And Abysias Name is Herbiedu. His Account is still not activated but his pretender is up also.

Indeed it s working with the dominion so if your dom is stronger you dont get the nasty effect.

Well, I did play a fair amount of MP games back in the day, but that was a little over 4 years ago before the newfangled CBM. I'm not sure how well my skills will hold up after several years away from dominions.

Ok so i picked an other map for 12. I hope everybody will be fine with it.

Here is the description of the map :
This is the version of Cradle used in TigerStripes, again with 12 hand-placed land starts. Note that you can't download this map file - it's only on the LlamaServer, so the start positions will remain a surprise.

Does that mean no download necessary ?

- Make sure you have the same mods enabled as the game you're playing in (Preferences->Mod Preferences) although only mods affecting pretender design, such as Conceptual Balance, actually matter
- Go to Game Tools -> Create a pretender god in Dominions. Don't set a password, since for PBEM games they're not helpful and occasionally annoying (e.g. if you need a sub)
- Go to the savedgames/newlords folder in the dominions directory, and find your pretender file (e.g. mid_pythium_0.2h)
- E-mail the file to: pretenders[ at ]llamaserver[ dot ]net
- Crucially, you must have the game name in the subject line of your e-mail (Noobs_are_gone_frenzY)

No it s the 3.27 and u have to download a patch if u see double weapon/armor. Go have a look in the mod forum

Yeah, the MP servers already upgraded to .27, so you cannot play using .26 without a lot of hassle.

Patchin' rocks ok, but another question:

CMB 1.84 is enabled in the game preferences but doesnt show any hint of a mod in the main screen? Is this the case with CBM? (...asking this because, as I am quite unexperienced with mods' I have, if I recall right, only played mods that post a sign at the lobby / main screen reminding a player what is on and whats not...? sry for being a pain in an arse)

Woooaah... now the pretender creation crashes the game.

patch 3.27
CBM 1.84 enabled (thou doesnt show at the main screen / lobby)

-> after picking LA Pythium from Pretender creation, trying to open the physical form crashes the game. No exceptions. Maybe the CBM isnt installed proberly? [CBM updated from the post listing the patch 3.27 compatible mod updates]

Just to make sure:

I updated CBM by copying folder Conceptual Balance Mod v.184 into the DOM3 MODS folder and copied a file named CB1.84.dm also to MODS -folder.

...sooooo MODS folder looks like this:

-some other, disabled mods-
Conseptual Balance Mod v1.84 [Folder]
-some sub folders and files in it-
CB1.84.dm [file, created in 29 of June, 2011]





anything I missed in the process?

should there be also files

CB1.84_wote.dm, and
CB1.84_weaker_egd.dm

at the MODS folder?

-> nope, didnt help with the crash issue....

-> also tried with CB1.84.dm created in March, didnt help either

...well well, CBM enabled trying to choose a physical form for any nations' pretender crashes the game.

Seems I am out of the match if theres no hot fix for my problem.

Well if you find mod bugs you should post at the other forum. But I see the problem. The images are missing.

But just to be sure, remove the
CB1.84_wote.dm, and
CB1.84_weaker_egd.dm mod files. They are not needed.

I think you do not have the mod images. Download the file here: http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/attac...5&d=1301526592

And copy everything BUT the .dm file into your mods dir.

Well, dear Sir, for some reason after installing the stuff you linked it lets me pick the physical form.

This is strange because I had, at least thought so, istalled everything already. But apparently I hadnt because now it shows the mod image, which it didnt show before, also.

...so, thank you very many!

You should get a CBM back and green icon on the main menu if you enabled 1.84 correctly. In fact you should see the icon in the mod selection screen too! Have you got the full CBM download?

So the game is finally launched ! (48h for the 1rt round so every1 can get synchro)
since we are 11 i have set the previous map which is smaller and give us a better chance to see an end to this game.

Now about the poll.
I m quite surprise to see that many people dont want handicap for vet (atm it s a kind of draw). So i ll close the poll Sunday night. Until then i hope the 2 peeps who haven't vote yet will do so. And for agelian who votes "something else" he can have a new vote between "nothing" or "no diplo" (that s how work democracy lol :D)

I had the problem with double weapons on cavalry too. I think you don't have the mod that was updated after the last patch. Weapon modding has been altered somehow, and this seems to be the result with the old mod.

Setting the Vets to No Diplomacy is something of a handicap for the people who start next to them as well. Instead of being able to make a NAP with your neighbors and expanding safely, you are stuck with a constant threat on your border. Almost as bad as starting next to Ermor or R'lyeh. :)

agreed with catquiet if your going to do that make it maybe so that they cant initiate diplo... still see a few issues with that as well... maybe nothing is a better idea!

Btw 9/11 did their first turn in less than 8h which is v nice =)

I voted for no handicap, cause its allready a handicap beeing marked as a vet. I think if the vets get too strong the noobs just need to play together a little bit.

Ok guys the turn1 is about to be done, i m glad to see that everyone is fine with the fast paced concept =) (many did their turn at the game start or almost!)

only one but its not totally surprising.. yeah will have to see what gets sorted... did u notice my guy in the HoF.. 2 kills!! yay.. he almost died.. bad gamble!!.. well not really.. he routed the heavy cavalry before he fled at least :D should be much easier next turn!
