However you decide to do it so that your break goes off I'm fine with. Though I can admit that I'd love for the ability to get in atleast 1 or 2 turns during Thanksgiving holidays as I ain't doing NOTHING during the turkey day holiday. Admittedly a 6 day break wont kill me haha.

LDiCesare will be subbing for me until i get back.

Hi. Shinuyama email address has been correctly switched. I'll try not to ruin Immac's game when he's on holiday.

Thanks for the subbing ! Do not hesitate to ask for postpones if u need.

Another combatant enters the fray as Shinuyama declares war on and attacks Pangaea in the south.

TWO FRONT WAR YOU SAY? BRING IT ON!

I'm back- can you change e-mail address back to me?

Now to read some old turn logs and stuff.

Sure send me the mail by PM

Immaculate November 28th, 2011 02:26 PM

You get the e-mail address? I requested turn resend and didn't get a file. Presumably LdiCesare did (sorry L).

Done !

Re: Colonial Conquest - MA - (Running)

Oh the treachery and general nastiness!

Caelum, our neighbour who we trusted and sought to make peace with, has fallen on our lands with horrible hairy elephants and mages who rain lightning down from the sky. Also, barbaric winged invaders appear where least expected and disappear into the night after ravaging the lands and slaying the good people.

The future looks very grim for us indeed.

Who would defend us? We promises riches and magical trinkets to our saviour as well as the maidenhood of our beloved leader, the Fair Maiden of Marignon, Roger the Crone!

Marignon

I think I would prefer not to have the maidenhood of any maiden named Roger :-P

OK, is Llamaserver fried again? I've tried several times to submit my turn with no success. But I haven't seen anyone else complain about the server being down. Or did I just look in the wrong place?

You can check at the bottom of any llamaserver pages the last refresh.
Actually it is stuck since 17:22 yesterday.
The server need a reboot or something near

krpeters December 3rd, 2011 10:15 AM

Re: Colonial Conquest - MA - (Running)

Looks like we'll need a rollback if the server ever does get running again.

krpeters December 3rd, 2011 05:35 PM

Re: Colonial Conquest - MA - (Running)

Wow, llamaserver is confused. The good news is, it does seem to have everyone's turn except Agartha. I hope Agartha isn't too upset with my need to steamroll through his provinces to find other enemies to fight. It's a shame his capital is sitting on a critical route.

No, I am here, waiting for you eagerly.

Nosantee December 6th, 2011 09:57 AM

Re: Colonial Conquest - MA - (Running)

It seems I am beaten. Ermor in the west attacked and forced a full strategy change, then Shinuyama finally came from the south having gotten enough time to research flaming arrows. Oh how depressed I am that I didn't get to rush them on the earlier turns before they had magic!

My lands all at full unrest with no income left and no army with which to expand and patrol, almost 20 Panii dead in the last combat and all armies destroyed in different quadrants of the world, I shall now retreat to near AI hood and fill my castles with units to delay the sieges!

Good game everyone. Toobad circustances and unknown teamwork on both sides prevented my glorious victory!

Immaculate December 6th, 2011 10:11 AM

Re: Colonial Conquest - MA - (Running)

You fought well nonetheless Nosantee. I hope we get to play together again someday.

Rezo December 6th, 2011 05:50 PM

Re: Colonial Conquest - MA - (Running)

Yes, I had a lot of fun in our little war, trying to hold you in two fronts until Shinuyama comes. You played very well and i must tell that your start position was a handicap. Maybe your only error was apply too much diplomatic pressure in your two fronts at same time. That triggered an alliance aganist you.
I also hope play again with you in the future.

The gods have granted Marignon a great victory over the invading hordes of Caelum. Now the bastards run for their lives and their leaders beg for mercy and peace! But there will be none! Come, friends and neightbours, let us feast on the ripe corpse that is Caelums empire!

Immaculate December 7th, 2011 02:19 PM

Re: Colonial Conquest - MA - (Running)

Congrats. the scoreboards certainly seemed to suggest that the caelum would be a very difficult opponent for any who faced them.

cool_hc December 9th, 2011 01:41 PM

Re: Colonial Conquest - MA - (Running)

The gods have have granted Caelum a great victory over Marignon! The unstoppable hordes of Caelum have smashed Marignon's capital, slaughtered his mages, and defiled the maidenhood of Roger the crone, before killing this false pretender.

It is now only a matter of time, before the nation of Marignon succumbs to its inevitable fate of extinction!

Immaculate December 9th, 2011 04:35 PM

Re: Colonial Conquest - MA - (Running)

the maidenhood of roger the crone... alas... gone forever... damn you vile caelum spawn!

R.I.P Roger.

Hurmio December 10th, 2011 01:50 AM

Re: Colonial Conquest - MA - (Running)

Terrible news indeed! It seems that weather itself was against the brave defenders of Marignon, as a storm broke out and made the valiant efforts of our battle mages twice as hard. Luckily they all died thus saving them from a debriefing my our most sacred Inquisition.

But have no fear! Perhaps we lost a battle, but the war still rages on! This is only a temporary setback as we gather new armies to drive the infidels to their doom.

We are also sure that Roger will be able to pay her dept to those who help Marignon. Through faith (or necromancy) she will rise again!

Re: Colonial Conquest - MA - (Running)

Was wondering if some people would be interested in a break between the 24th Dec and the 2nd of January ? if so i'm planning to set a 8days length turn during this period but quickhost still on (so the game isn't stuck if everyone can finally play)

mockingbird December 17th, 2011 11:42 AM

Re: Colonial Conquest - MA - (Running)

I'm going to be missing internet access during some of that period, so that would be very helpful.

Let's do it.

Immaculate December 17th, 2011 01:45 PM

Re: Colonial Conquest - MA - (Running)

Thank you bullock. I'll be out of the country and away from my gaming computer during that time so that would be good.

Works for me. Like you said, with Quickhost on, if we do get our turns in we can move on... and if not, we can get back to the fun in 2012.

Otherwise give us some news.

I am here.

BTW, Abysias war against me aint going well at all. If theres any1 who is looking for window of opportunity to be open for little expansion this is the exact moment.

krpeters December 21st, 2011 07:48 PM

Re: Colonial Conquest - MA - (Running)

It wasn't a war of expansion; it was a war of "get out of my way". Only reason it's not going well is because Pythium went around you, so now I'm focusing my attention where it belongs.

Meanwhile, Dominions has amazed me yet again. After setting a certain Harbringer's eyes on fire, my mages decided they had nothing better to do than to charge him and fling themselves on his flaming sword. Awsome! Like, what else would a mage with orders of "Stay behind troops" do?

Hurmio December 22nd, 2011 02:10 AM

Re: Colonial Conquest - MA - (Running)

Marignon finally fell, as our last army was besieging a castle while our last province was taken. Didn't realize that besieging a castle would not count as having a province, stupid me.

Anyhow, Caelum took me out of the game quick and with ease. Grats to him and thanks for the fun!

cool_hc December 22nd, 2011 02:28 AM

Re: Colonial Conquest - MA - (Running)

Marignon, thanks for putting up a good fight. Kudos for not giving up until the very end. You had almost pushed the war into a dead-end grindfest, but luckily I was able to recover with my superior economy.
I will inform you of the results of the final battle with your last army, so stay posted.

Sure, I did compensate my limited numbers with diplomacy but thats so obvious you could have bet on it or did you expect me to just sit and watch you burning my back yard?

You havent beated my only field army in a single battle, while your field armies have melted away one after another.

From now until the end of December there is no timer, but quickhost is on, to avoid stalls during holidays.
Try to play as usual if you can!

Happy Christmas to all ! :)

Re: Colonial Conquest - MA - (Running)

It looks like the term to keep in mind is "critical mass".

Half a dozen theurgs casting Thunderstrike isn't too bad; send in 100 troops, soak up some damage, kill them.

Two dozen theurgs doing the same? Ouch. Time to look into plan B.

Bullock December 23rd, 2011 11:15 PM

Re: Colonial Conquest - MA - (Running)

Just took one of my worst defeat in this game.
I have even lost a Visitor to Pythium... what a shame.

Immaculate December 24th, 2011 12:26 AM

Re: Colonial Conquest - MA - (Running)

pythium- we are cancelling our NAP.

Anaconda December 24th, 2011 07:46 AM

Why not cancel NAPs with Abysia :D

krpeters December 24th, 2011 10:26 AM

Re: Colonial Conquest - MA - (Running)

Why bother? They can just wait a few turns, then take all my provinces from Pythium.

mockingbird December 24th, 2011 12:36 PM

Re: Colonial Conquest - MA - (Running)

Why can't we just give peace a chance?

Immaculate December 24th, 2011 01:36 PM

Re: Colonial Conquest - MA - (Running)

The goblins of shinuyama are afraid that if they do not stop the pythium pretender now and his armies of artifact-laden elemental royalty, scores of theurgs and several score green lion, with the help of abyssia and r'leyh now, the pythium pretender will never be stopped. So, from our point of view, its now or never.

EDIT: since its now largely irrelevant, can you share with us, Mockingbird, how you took such a decisive research lead? I've played pythium twice and never managed to do anything quite like you did? It was (and continues to be) very impressive indeed.

krpeters December 24th, 2011 04:53 PM

Re: Colonial Conquest - MA - (Running)

It's hardly a mystery -- he has at least half a dozen castles popping out theurgs left and right. With that many mages, his research will naturally be huge.

Immaculate December 24th, 2011 10:00 PM

Re: Colonial Conquest - MA - (Running)

oh kay- next question- how he cast well of misery...

krpeters December 25th, 2011 08:40 PM

Re: Colonial Conquest - MA - (Running)

Acashic Record, lots of surplus death gems. Also his pretender has D4 (along with E4N4).
