Thanks for the game.

I am going to try Abysia next time, or another era of that nation because I have seen them go ballistic in 3 games and no one has come up with an answer to combat them.

The reason I want to try them out is so as I can hopefully have someone show me how to tackle them.

Also I think I designed my pretender to be towards the end game, which doesn't help.

It would be nice if you could play a few more turns and make it at least a little more difficult for Abysia. When you leave with still this much territory it will create a huge dis-balance in the game.
As the A.I. is in no way able to make even a semblance of a effective defense.

Re: Another World - EA - (Running)

Yeah i do agree with GFSnl.
Can you play few more turns before going AI Plz ?

Otherwise should we look for a sub ?

Re: Another World - EA - (Running)

I'm surprised to see Hinnom going out -- he has lots of provinces and troops left. Did he lose his capital or something? Does he still have any castles?

One reason Abysia may be posing such a problem in multiple games -- easy Zmey access. Those critters are brutal for the cost.

Does Destruction require a MR check or is it automatic?

Re: Another World - EA - (Running)

So holey can you fight a little more ? Or do we have to look for a sub ?

HoleyDooley February 15th, 2012 07:32 AM

Re: Another World - EA - (Running)

No I can fight on a bit till I have almost nothing left. Its not an issue with me.

If you guys hadn't already realised there is sweet ^&%$% all I can do to stall Abysia, better start making plans.

How much better than the AI will I be? Lets see. Hes is besieging my capital, thus I have one fort in which to make troops, and I have 1 decent standing army, which is basically isolated.

He is going to get the most of my territory very quickly regardless of what I do.

Well I am definately in the noob category, been playing around 10 weeks now,but yeah, those dragons are crazy.
As I said I have seen Abysia go ballistic in two other games. In one, a quite experienced player said he was glad they eventually died out from dom kill, as he had no idea how he was going to beat their army. They died out only because two nations were at war with him. He could have easily beat those two, one of which was mine, one on one.

Re: Another World - EA - (Running)

At least make you remaining troops focus hinnom (AI could fail on that point) and resist as much as you can for few turns , only then go AI please.
Thanks !

Re: Another World - EA - (Running)

Its not an issue for me to play on, time is of no consequence. I just think the AI cant do much worse of a job at this point.

None the less, I am kicking on, in my death throes.

mockingbird February 16th, 2012 05:36 PM

Re: Another World - EA - (Running)

I encourage you to make a good fight of it. :)

Hinnom can hold out a really long time under the right circumstances. I had a grand time in a game holding my capitol as Hinnom against three different nations and seven? eight? storm attempts over 40+ turns.

PM me (or better yet, find me on irc) if you want some tips and tricks.

Re: Another World - EA - (Running)

Hi ya Mock,

Note we are allies in Doom and Darkness.

I am doing my best but honestly I was way toooo noobish at the start of this game and really only getting a grip on the play style of Dominions in the last few days.

Given what I have already seen of the my battles so far I can't hold out for long. I haven't designed my pretender good and my research direction has been off as well.

In another game I am down to two provinces and destroying 600+ armies of undead coming at me, doing a great job of holding out and inflicting pain on the #1 race.

But I'll do my best to hang in there.

Well i guess it's my bad, i haven't asked for relentless players.
But, like for Hooley, can you play few more turns ?
You still have 5 forts and >15 prov there is prolly still something to do and to learn.

Re: Another World - EA - (Running)

Hey,

I really have little time. Could you extend the turn for a day.
And maybe go to 48h hosting afterwards as my turns get pretty long.

If none objects of course :)

Bug Report

A 0g ettin site was found in province 71 (Forest of Gun).

I will never recuit it from that site, but is it still fine if I summon ettins in the later game? (I do have access to it, and it's really useful to me in some situation)

It's the first time I saw this bug, please advice me, thanks.

Bullock March 4th, 2012 11:40 AM

Re: Another World - EA - (Running)

yeah it's forbidden as it is said in the OP :)

I m not sure they have exactly the same stat of the one who comes trough magic so you can be caught if u cheat ^^.

KeithZ March 4th, 2012 12:08 PM

Re: Another World - EA - (Running)

Sadlly, they are totally the same...

It's the first time I grew my nation so big in a MP game, so I don't want to be thought of cheating. But I dont want to be limited when I need to summon it either.

I will post the screenshot of the messege report here to prove it if I summon every single ettin. It's the best solution in my mind now.

Bullock March 11th, 2012 02:14 PM

Re: Another World - EA - (Running)

Well i think the proud Ctis nation will vanish soon.
I totally screwed my attack against Mictlan and the big lack of archers made me lose. Well played mockin, sry to have shown so few resistance.

Does anyone, in good shape, want the admin rights ? Otherwise i keep an eyes on the thread for the usuals needs.

krpeters March 12th, 2012 08:39 PM

Re: Another World - EA - (Running)

No, your spy was not mistaken, I really did have 500 troops sitting in one province.

And it is slightly scary how effective Mountain Warriors are in taking out thugs. You're better off attacking them with archers of some kind.

krpeters March 15th, 2012 08:10 PM

Re: Another World - EA - (Running)

Hmmm, they're not so effective against Zmeys, though. It seems armor really makes a difference against them. It's a good thing I had those ethereal crossbows handy!

GFSnl March 18th, 2012 04:24 PM

Re: Another World - EA - (Running)

Sorry for the stale.

I just don't have the time to do these long games.
I always hated it when someone just didn't plan on doing long turns in advance but it seems I'm in that position now. It's just crazy at work for the foreseeable future and I just can't manage it.
Please pause, and I'll make a post to look for a sub.

mockingbird March 18th, 2012 05:33 PM

Re: Another World - EA - (Running)

I could use some more time for this turn anyway.

Can we move to 72 hour turns, please? Mid-late game Mictlan has a lot of micro.

Bullock March 18th, 2012 07:52 PM

Re: Another World - EA - (Running)

ive put the game on hold and set the timer to 72h

krpeters March 20th, 2012 06:43 PM

Re: Another World - EA - (Running)

Keep in mind that you don't *have* to do everything every turn. I have tons of troops sitting in my castles because I can't be bothered yet to send them out to die. I'll mass a pile and march them out when I need to.

Think of excessive micro as a penalty to level the playing field for those of us with smaller armies :) Do what you can, submit your turn, and if it goes badly, your micro will be easier next turn!

Re: Another World - EA - (Running)

So is the game officially dead, or are we still waiting for subs?

Bullock March 23rd, 2012 06:27 PM

Re: Another World - EA - (Running)

Who want to turn him AI?

GFSnl can you play this game at a slower rate maybe 'til we find a sub ?

krpeters March 23rd, 2012 07:06 PM

Re: Another World - EA - (Running)

We're missing the two most powerful nations in the game... with some epic firepower between them... if we can't get them back, starting a new game makes the most sense I think. Turning them AI would be silly at this point.

I'm still here. I'm actually pretty busy in the real life these days but I can still manage to handle this game. I'm ok to wait until Fomoria finding a sub, also, it would be better if he can still play, even if in a slower rate. Anyway, I will hand in my turn as soon as I can.

Bullock March 26th, 2012 08:09 PM

Re: Another World - EA - (Running)

K guys despite the research of GFSnl we haven't found any players.

So how much do u still want to wait ? what do u want to do if we don't find a sub ?

Should we declare some1 winner? Turn Fomo AI ? giving up the game ?

I d like to hear from all remaining players.

mockingbird March 27th, 2012 09:10 AM

Re: Another World - EA - (Running)

I would rather end the game without any resolution than turn Formoria AI.

KeithZ March 27th, 2012 10:16 AM

Agree with mockingbird.

krpeters March 27th, 2012 06:18 PM

Ditto, Formoria was a biggie in this game, hard to imagine running it without him.

Bullock March 29th, 2012 07:51 AM

Re: Another World - EA - (Running)

I've "bumped" the sub post. If there is no answer i'm planning to close the game at the end of the week, unless some1 has something to say about it.

Bullock April 2nd, 2012 03:40 AM

Re: Another World - EA - (Running)

no sub nor comments.
I'm closing the game.

Sry for this sad ending and thx all for participating.
