lol. bull, you think he is so mad that he didn't know atlantis was a land nation that he quit already?

stupidity is alway funny. but i must say, for my own part, i didn't know that either.

Re: Time for a Slaughter - LA - RECRUITING 12/13

Well we have waited long enough.
Unfortunately i have found only craddle map with 11 fixed & 13 fixed spot.
So we will have to go random.

Goooooood luck everyone

Anything we need to know about this map ? normal indies or some special ones ? Also where are the fixed start positions ?

I picked the vanilla map. So it's classic game with random starts (however your cap should have 4 neighbor prov at least, and shouldn't be in a crap province itself)

If you feel that your position sucks hard, send me a PM with your starting prov number. But it shouldn't happen.

FAJ November 13th, 2012 08:27 AM

Re: Time for a Slaughter - LA - Running

We can't use the 13 fixed position map? I didn't think you needed to fill all those spots, and we don't have an UW player to boot.

Also, I think you may have clicked site frequency once too many ;)

If we leave a slot we are sure that some1 will fully benefit of it.(or 2 maybe)
While when it is random we know it won't be totally fair but the benefit will be split between more players.

i guess it can be argued, but that's why i've made this call.

Re: Time for a Slaughter - LA - Running

A question about multiplayer - does the turn run when everyone gets their turn in or does the server wait until the posted time for turns to be in regardless?

Evilhomer November 13th, 2012 01:22 PM

Re: Time for a Slaughter - LA - Running

A new turn will be generated if one of these two things happen:

1. All players has submitted their turns
2. Deadline for the turn is reached

Ragnarok-X November 13th, 2012 01:36 PM

Re: Time for a Slaughter - LA - Running

has it started ?

FAJ November 13th, 2012 02:03 PM

Re: Time for a Slaughter - LA - Running

Yes, it looks like we didn't wait for your pretender.

It is still turn 1, I would prefer to restart and have Atlantis in and have 13/13 for the fixed position map, but I maybe alone in that.

Ragnarok-X November 13th, 2012 02:21 PM

Re: Time for a Slaughter - LA - Running

Well, i can only log on each day after work. Yesterday, i didnt see a reply about my nation of choice and today it alrdy started.
You can either restart and i will send in my pret immediatly, or play it out.
No harm done.

Re: Time for a Slaughter - LA - Running

I am happy with my start so I rather keep on playing. To much delay and restarts make people loose interest in a game.

Just play & do your best.

Well the silver lining is Ind:7 should slow most everyone else's expansion too...

That message didn't reach Patala yet.

no worries, im not giving up.

actually, on a crowded map like this, i think the high indies thing was a great idea. i just missed it and wrecked myself.

no problem, im the king of the 'last stand' anyway. when you stink, you get a lot of practice!

I have to be out of town today and tomorrow for a funeral. I may be able to get turns in, but I have to ask for a 24 hour extension, please.

And the silver lining to THAT is that it will make him a target if he's clearly the only person expanding quickly. :)

Re: Time for a Slaughter - LA - Running

tien chi is making a sweeping, world wide announcement:

we shall no longer be known as the barbarian kings. we wish to be known as Tien Chi-the toothless little tiny turtle! if we are not referred to in this manner, we will bring all of our military might-that is to say, two archers and one crappy mage-against your nation!

by the way, does anyone have some turtle food that isn't too chewy?

Evilhomer November 19th, 2012 03:32 PM

Re: Time for a Slaughter - LA - Running

Tien Chi-the toothless little tiny turtle as they call themself have now started stalling (with less than 1 minute to go until hosting).

great....

parone November 19th, 2012 04:07 PM

Re: Time for a Slaughter - LA - Running

i staled despite sending in my turn file not once, but twice.

once i got no response from llama(this a.m.) then i went to see if i had a new turn file i saw it was not in, and sent it again. i got a message that said there was no 2h file attatched-which, since i had just sent it, im sure there was.

oh well. sorry to make you wait. staling is never fun, but even less so under these circumstances

homer, you are a dead man for calling us tien chi
one composite archer headed your way...

parone November 27th, 2012 04:07 PM

Re: Time for a Slaughter - LA - Running

man, this thread is dead dead dead. much as tien chi will soon be. Ulm is busy currently, but im sure they'll come back to stomp me into a lifeless corpse.

what is going on in the big world? is anyone at war? is someone dying? did anyone find anything cool?

tien chi(ooooops, i mean the toothless turtles) grows tired waiting for the the executioner's axe(or halbred or sword or magic wand) to fall...

YellowCactus November 27th, 2012 04:10 PM

Nice job repelling the Ulmish invasion Parone. The sixty five barbarian horsemen were a big suprize! What was the kill count? 85 ulmish Dead for about 6 Turtle archers? lolz...

Re: Time for a Slaughter - LA - Running

thanks for the update cactus-

i wouldn't know, as after the update, i cannot get dominions to work/boot. i am trying to fix it, but can't get my cd key(i deleted the email).

could i get a 24 hour extension while i try to fix this?

HoleyDooley November 29th, 2012 06:57 AM

Re: Time for a Slaughter - LA - Running

parone the key or serial number is locate din a file called 'key" in the main dominions folder. You can open it with the notepad program.

parone November 29th, 2012 09:18 AM

Re: Time for a Slaughter - LA - Running

thanks hooley. i got her runnin with some help from my friends...but

when i try to run slaughter, it tells me llamastandards must be enabled.

and while i have a llamastandards in my mods folder, it seems the game can't see it. any ideas?

YellowCactus November 29th, 2012 09:52 AM

Re: Time for a Slaughter - LA - Running

I would delete it and reinstall...the mod.

HoleyDooley November 29th, 2012 09:59 AM

Re: Time for a Slaughter - LA - Running

I believe there are 2 standards as mods, but one is specifically called streamers and standards llamas version, make sure you have that one loaded.

I believe the folder and dm is actually called "llamabanners".

HD

parone November 29th, 2012 10:08 AM

Re: Time for a Slaughter - LA - Running

yeah hooley. i actually have those. oddly, i am in another game using them, and that game is just fine. but slaughter will simply not load.

i am so tech challenged.

HoleyDooley November 29th, 2012 10:11 AM

Re: Time for a Slaughter - LA - Running

Okay, try deleting the actual "slaughter" game folder, or just cut and paste it to your desktop.

Download the turn file again, create a new folder to put it in, but name it different to the one you were using before.

Then try using that one.

parone November 29th, 2012 10:16 AM

Re: Time for a Slaughter - LA - Running

no, the slaughter file is there, no prob.

when i try to play slaughter from the game, it says llamaserver.dm needs to be installed.

i have, in about 20 different ways, tried to install that into the mods folder now, and just CANNOT get the game to see it.

hmph.

HoleyDooley November 29th, 2012 10:20 AM

Re: Time for a Slaughter - LA - Running

No, delete the folder with the slaughter file in it.

Create a new folder, call it whatever you want, as long as its different to the folder you cant get working. Download the turn file again, throw it in the new folder, and try using that one.

parone November 29th, 2012 10:21 AM

Re: Time for a Slaughter - LA - Running

it is so typical that this would happen after cactus said i won a battle. i haven't won a battle(except vs indie) in about 8 months. and now i will probably never see it!

Re: Time for a Slaughter - LA - Running

finally got a look at my turn. cactus you are right, we won one!!!

unfortunately, the kidding is pretty much over, as you are moving your real army in now. and the barbarians attacked our interior. and the giants are moving in to our west.

for tien chi, there can be no victory...
