Another flaw. Way too much 110 steel protection for Ukrainian T84 for a chassis which is T80 based. More protection than Merkava is very very very too much

Finally a release. My deepest gratitude for Don & Andy :up:
The upgrade & changes are amazing, especially the new NLOS missile class (it was dreamed about only a year or so ago by some poster on the forum!), the fact there's now an obvious penalty when Z firing, improved AI pathfinding routine, and also the new status bar for units. Not to mention the update is Consolidated (cumulative) from version 6 upward!

I still hope to see a realistic & improved version of the facing-triggers-opfire feature (or maybe none at all is okay as for me). Again, big thank you for you guys.

As stated look under armour tab ATGM formations, Israel & UK are 2 sides I can think of Exactor for Brits. As to use would think select target with FOO & it will work much like a plane launching a missile. I will do a little test battle with them to find out before I use them.

My apologies - I misread "I" (i) as l (L) or | (pipe) :doh: doh!
(I guess because I tend to use the mouse and the icons down the side this compounded my ineptitude as there is no way to do it without the keyboard shortcut key)

I read the game guide but did not find that entry anywhere, but I thank you for the information.

Last bit under extended/CD stuff is the scenhack search facility.
The bit quoted above #64 IS in the release history section.

BUT the "TARGETING WITH NLOS WEAPONS" section doesnt seem to be there!

Or I am stupid (which is always a possibility)...

OK this is very , very puzzling

I can see manual.htm in the MBT patch files......those are the files the installer is built from.

I can open that and see the NLOS write up at the end of the Extended features section

I can see this in my working copy of the game as well and both are timestamped 05/04/2016

But in the copy of the game that I extracted the patch to test there is the ....

New Extended Game (CD) only features 2016

.......section and that explains how scenhack sort facitlty works but the section about NLOS is missing...... but it CAN'T be missing ( but it is...... ) because I can find manual.htm in the patch folder in the correct place with the correct time stamp and when I open it the NLOS info is there.......but it isn't there when I check the patch extraction version of the game..

Maybe in the morning the reason will be obvious but right now it's eluding me how anything like this is possible beyond a rip in the space-time continuum. I can see the correct file in the patch files AND in the version of the game that tested the patch......but when I run the game guide it's not showing up

As of 6:53 am (EDST) this morning ( April 21/2014 ) new (b) versions of both patches are in place. There are NO OOB changes so anyone who may have started a PBEM is not affected and can DL this new version without problem. The game version number that shows when the game starts has NOT changed as there were no code or OOB changes.... the only change is to the patch version.


The following corrections were made to MBT

Key game Guide files were put in an incorrectly named folder in the orginal DL and therefore critical info on how to fire NLOS missles was not showing up when players tried to find that info in the Game Guide. As well....since this had to be rebuilt for the GG info anyway..... the T-14 Armata photo that was missing from the orginal patch is now in this 'b' version.

Anyone who DL'd and installed the original patch April 20/2016 should DL and install this new 'b' version and I apologise for the inconvenience.

We are working on a solution right now.......there are DLL's missing that we didn't realize were needed because everything ran great when we tried it but we had the DLL's tucked away in program files and scenhack found them....but you don't have them unless you have Borland installed..which you don't otherwise it would run

Congratulations....you are the first one to spot that...or at least report it, in ELEVEN YEARS those txt files were added to the wrong place May 27 2005 and they have been there ever since

CORRECTION...... the "problem" originated 2 years ago when the USMC OOB was "re-organized"...... the files have been in place since 2005 but then those slots in the OOB contained Hvy lift helos....so it hasn't been 11 years......it's 2....still, you're the first one to notice

Something else that I'm curious about: are air strikes more limited now? Because I have used my aircraft twice in a scenario and although I'm positive that none was hit by AA fire, all of them got a -1 damage after the second strike and I cannot use them anymore.

If they run out of bombs/cannon ammo they'll go home.
Some aircraft only carry enough ordnance for one strike.
If an aircraft has multiple "weapons" (i.e. one bomb in weapon slot #2 and one in slot #3) you can manually turn off one weapon slot so they only drop one bomb on a strike then later turn that slot back on so they'll do a second one bomb strike.

Hi

Regarding the maps for the British in Afghanistan. Are they for specific years? I went through 20 to 30 random maps in 2015, 2011 and 2006 and only got a couple of Kajaki's in each year all the others were Afghanistan, Green Zone, etc. No Musa Kala or Sanguin's

I have a question about this patch. It says it's a consolidated patch. "The 2016 Patch updates winSPMBT Ver. 6, Ver. 7 , Ver. 8 and Ver 9.1 to Ver 10." Does this mean that I don't have to apply all of the previous patches? Just this one?

What version is your game now ? If it's V6 or up all you need is the 10b patch. If it's earlier than that you need to apply the Windows v.6.0 patch first, then 10b. Both are on the DL page

In your case and most others these days all you need is the latest patch..in this case 10b will bring you up to current standard

The consolidated patches you need to use depend on the base game you have currently installed.

If it is just an update of a previously up to date fully patched game already on your computer, then apply the latest patch we put out. Simples.

If however you are starting out from absolute scratch, like installing on a brand new computer, or a completely new user then you need the options:

A) - Early adopters of the full game will have a CD or digital download of a low edition baked into their installer. These players will need to run the consolidated update to 6, and then to apply the one to 10. (As will any users who downloaded a base install of the free demo a long time ago and stored it on their hard disk, and use that one instead of downloading a fresh copy of the free demo base installer).

B) - The latest batch of full game installs, with newly pressed CDs, and the latest digital downloads of the full game, and the free demo version on the shrapnel website are all patched up to date, and point to a directory outside of \program files\ so that windows vista+ "managed folders" do not bork the updates, so only need the latest consolidated upgrade patch.

Thus the need for the 6.0 consolidation patch, as an intermediate stage for users in case A (older images of the full game. Plus some free demo users who insist on using a squirreled-away HDD copy they downloaded yonks ago & not the latest free demo image).

Everyone else is case B, no need for the earlier consolidation patch to run to patch a v1.0 or whatever CD up to the 6.0 level.

Hi. I just reinstalled win 7 on my computer. I have the CD version (download) for both games. Is it possible to download the latest CD version and thus avoid the intermediate consolidation patches?

The Latest CD version is V6 - so you still need to patch it.
