Sweet! Is it ready yet! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

Seriously, can you strap a webcam on top of your head so we can all watch as you assemble it? We won't mind if you stop to watch a naughty video every now and then either! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/shock.gif

I am probably going to regret telling you all this, but I have received the server, and it's in one piece.

I am still going to need a couple days to get it set up in the new location, so don't plan on being able to use PBW before Monday night sometime. But you can rest assured it didn't get lost in the mail at least. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

And I agree with Geo, Ohio is a nice enough place to live if you can deal with freakish weather. (Though it should be noted that the past decade has been especially freakish with the seasons getting all mishmashed...) It's just provincial and so rather difficult for 'visiting' types to stomach.
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">you want freekish weather, try out Calgary... they got 40 cm of snow like 4 days ago! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...s/rolleyes.gif Just try running a rodeo under those conditions http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Baron, I think that you are wrong there - we dont have that level of cultural dimorphication in our cities - you have to remember for example that England is only about twice the size of California (it could be less actually), yet has about 3 times the population.

The dichotomy of our populations are not generally as pronounced as the US, and generally Europe is a lot more homogenous, even with the mutiple nations.

See if you can get some of the cool leading edge social anthropological films out at the moment from the nearest univeristy to you - I reccomend "Domov" (Czech for "home") by Rosei Read - excellent stuff that should give you a useful insight into the two main anthropological substrains in Europe

So, what's the url on that webcam, and is it up yet?

Also, Geo, could you setup an IRC channel, please, and monitor it closely? I'm thinking that as we watch you work on the webcam, we're going to want to offer you advice and suggestions... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

Ohio? Isn't that where arguably the best modern music group hails from? I refer, of course, to 'Over the Rhine'.

Fair point Geo, that is probably a good thing you know.

I grew up in a picture perfect English village, you know, just like you see in the movies, white houses with black oak beams, thatched roofs, village green with 3 pubs off it, flint church, Kate Beckinsale running round in A line skirts - all that sort of thing.

Lovely place to grow up and live in during the week. During the summer however, bloody murder with all the wretched tourists coming in - horrible, truly horrible

Am I wrong or the server is up & running? The only problem is the enormous number of internal servlet errors generated... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif
Well, I suppose someone's working on it right now... three or four hours ago there were different errors... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

Yes, it's hooked up, but no its not quite working right at the moment. Yes we are working on it. Once it's working we will give you an official "it's up" message here. In the mean time I don't recomend trying to access the site.

I was able to play a few turns about 4 or so hours ago. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

Re: Important notice for PBW Users.

Ok. Here's your official notice. PBW is back Online! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

I will leave auto porceesing off for a few days to allow people to get caught up on their turns. The host can manually run turns, and turns will run when all players have uploaded for games that are set to "After Last player uploads" or "Fully automatic turns".

There were unfortunatly two casualties in the move. Two game files got corrupted and had to be pulled out. About all I can give you is the game names:

Mick Rooster's Game(Private)
and
Max Tech Humans vs AIs AGAIN!

I am unable to determine who the game owners or even the players in the game to contact them, so hopefully somebody from each game will see this message here. If you have the most recent turn you could recreate the game and load it up as the first turn. You have to make sure the players are all in the correct order (Including spots for dead empires). If you are unsure how to do this, or if you don't have the most recent turn, send me an email. I can help you out if you need it. It's actually possible these games were already over and deleted. I can't tell.

Other than that everything should be full speed ahead on PBW. Let us know though if you find any issues. After we all take a nap, we'll get right on them. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

I picked Shakespeare (at least I think it's him) because it's fairly close to my real appearance, and fits my temperament better than the Henry VIII avatar or the grizzled cowboy.
