Hey, you've got a knack for this... nice ships. Really nice.
Some objective feedback:
I like the concept of the race portrait!
- but it still looks somewhat cartoonish-
any chance of maybe throwing in some rougher textures, maybe adding some brown/tans... it still reminds me of the stock (fezzran?) alien.

It's a Fazrah indeed. Pirate are a group of various oxygen breather races. Perhaps the texture has to be changed, in order to look more ... battered ?
I'm still learning how Bry ce 5 works, especially when it comes with textures...

Nice. I"m biased but I like that you are keepting the backgrounds. Among other things it will help them be more visble.

Some other Posts(especially from the shipset guru, Andres Lescano) concerning the tesselate shipset have reminded me that there were display problems with non-black backgrounds in some parts of the game. Custom Backgrounds are fun but incompatible with SE IV.

So I think I'll withdraw them in the final Version.

The only problem with custom background in portrait pictures is when such picture is selected as a random candy in "race creation" menu. It can look very funny http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif Otherwise portraits do not produce any problems. Mini - yes, they all must have clean black background.

Perhaps, but there will be a official Version available on PBW and a alternate.

Seems thaht most people don't care about backgrounds or dislike coloured ones. So the official Version will be black.

Almost finished the shipset.
Just one picture to add, resize some mini pictures, clear ugly pink backgrounds and Version 1.0 will be ready for release !

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I'm afraid I won't. Two Versions is hard to maintain, and would make no sense on PBW, for instance. Moreover, as you can see on the preview page, many recent pictures have no background.

If you create a shipset, I would encourage you to use standard format : there no use working if very few people use your work !

I like the race portrait as it is, and looks slightly like a fazrah, but it looks better in my opinion.

As for the shipsets they look great with the black backgrounds, i think they stand out more, great work on the dreadnought

Will this be released with a large transport design or will we just have to rename a couple of files? I rarely play P&N, But with this shipset roleplaying a pirate shipset race using boarding parties would be quite fun, can't wait till this is released

Any thoughts on making an extra baseship image? most shipsets now come with a baseship image and beginning to use them more, and the starbase image isn't really that ship looking! great as a base but you get the idea for baseships, just a suggestion

The perfect copy of Captain Harlock ship is the BattleCruiser.

I will finish all stock pictures and P&N custom pictures before launching the shipset. In next Version, I will make missing neo standard images, as usual.

Sure there is. I don't do the ship set for other people. I do it for me and share it.

I will create a second similar set on a solid black background and a different name.

Gosh, I still have to draw the massive fighter, huge fighter and worldship for the P&N mod !
SO I'm going to have a few days more to work on it...

That really is looking cool, trooper. I especially love the "rock" stations and worldship.

Another BTW... I have created basicmalfadorica pages for both the pexlerr and the space sharks now. Do you want to create a page for yourself? Then you could link to all your shipsets from one page and add new ones as you release more sets. Also, you could edit the pages I've made to include the information you want displayed about your sets.

It's really easy to makes changes to the Malfadorica, just go there and click "Edit". Click the question mark by your name to add an entry about yourself.

Oh yeah... the signing in thing. That's wierd.

Just make up a username and don't enter a password. The important thing is that your username must have TWO capital letters in it, for example DogScoff or TroopeR.

Like I say, it's wierd, but that's how it works...
