I wonder if Geo's move has "gotten" the server. Can't seem to get to it.

Re: PBW Down??

About an hour ago I could connect to it and read a message (yes! a new message on the home page of the pbw server! A miracle!) that the server would not move this weekend, although Geo wanted to set all games to ALPU in case something weird happend while he was away and not being able to fix it.

Now I too cannot connect, let us hope that there has been no major crash - anything bad can happen when moving...

Hummm, looks like I posted in the wrong spot about this. Oh well. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif Yup, seems like the move is on for PBW. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon9.gif

Us PBW Junkies must now suffor while we wait for Geo to get moved and get the PBW server back on line.

DAY 1

No PBW? Oh no, what shall I do this weekend??? Withdrawal syndroms already starting... is there something for us like spaceempires anonymous, maybe?

<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">Well, according to this, "Once the ISP move occurs there will be some downtime while I relocate the server. But it doesn't look like that's going to happen anytime this weekend", from Geo, the server should have been up today (and tomorrow, etc.). Shall we start a pool?

I've got dibs on 'mover error'.

Or is that too general?

Re: PBW Down??

Well, he said it would probably be up till the end of the month, so unless something came along and changed that (seems like a slim chance), I'd have to say it just went down (for some reason) on its own and he hasn't noticed.

Outdated info, Para. Latest info was:
----
"Once the ISP move occurs there will be some downtime while I relocate the server. But it doesn't look like that's going to happen anytime this weekend"
----
Of course, you cannot read it anymore because it was on the site that is down now...

To players in Anklebiters and NGC3:

I am currently working 14hrs / 7 days a week for at least the next 2 weeks. I will *try* to get my turns in on time, but if I don't, please cut me a little slack. The end of this year will be a busy time for me.

Slick.

<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">No bet man. The way things go Geo won't be able to get DSL at his new place or if he does it will be after months of arguing with them about where he actually lives and has service.

I can not even begin to explain to you all the utter hell I went through when I switched from basic cable to digital cable. I kept getting billed for both. My neighbor moved in next door a year ago from just down the road and has been fighting Comcast ever since about getting service to his new home. They keep turn on the cable at his old house and the low life trailer trash that is currently living there are just loving the free cable they get.

Good luck Geo http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

Ok, i canoot say with certainty that Grandpa Kim is not correct. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif I have been moving all day and only in the Last few minutes have got my personal PC hooked up on dialup at the new house and found out we are haivng a problem. I may have in fact kicked the wire out on my way out the door. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif The server is still at the old house and should be working. I don't think I can get over there tonight but should be able to in the morning and find out what's going on.

<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">The way things go Geo probably has to prove first THAT he actually lives... and that the street where he lives does really exist... I guess a few hundred documents with several important signatures including the president's and from all of the white house staff will be the minimum needed...

Ok, PBW should be back up now. Still at the old place. There is going to be some down time when the actual DSL move occurs. Maybe just hours, but maybe days. This will not happen for at least a couple weeks they are telling me.

Re: PBW Down??

Ah, I think i know what it wrong. I can't fix it right this moment, but should be able to this evening. The server is up and running, but auto turns are off, so noone need worry about it running your turn without you.

I believe if you email a turn it will process it normally. If somone can confirm this for me I'd appreciate it. When you send your turns by email it should notify you that it recieved the turn.

Re: PBW Down??

Geo,

Yes, email processing seems to be working normally. I uploaded a couple of turns and received answering Messages back from PBW. Thanks!!

On the down side, I'm also covering for a friend's turns, and I've been doing that by uploading the turns to the site. Guess that will have to wait a bit longer. At least the turn won't process without the turn!

My wife, Princess Xanthea just sent her Pairs turn via email and received the "[SEIV PBW] E-mailed turn processed" email.
