Unlike LA Pangaea, who apparently has a very exciting and active news network, MA R'Lyeh's news revolves around Shubburath, our almighty god!..... who is still locked in the cellar.

We've even made a reality tv show called:"Where the hell are the damn keys?" It airs on ABC (Aquatic boradcasting corp.) right after Barney Miller ("Fish" from that classic show is a popular character below the waves). http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

Leader - LA R\'lyeh

I want everyone to check out the gem income track this turn and look who almost doubled the previous leader's gem income. Any experienced player will tell you that in the long run - gem income is more important than provinces.

I've been checked... has LA'Rlyeh? Is any water nation doing anything about this menance?

Not at all, I found a gem site called "godmode". It gives alot of gems and 100k gold/turn that doesnt show on the graphs. Oh, and it also sets anyone who attacks me into an easy AI. Pretty nice actually http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif.

On another note, while I have gotten a nice start im pretty sure the good players will become a much larger threat over time than me.

I did peruse the various charts, but the only other water nation I've encountered is EA R'Lyeh. Heck, I've only encountered 3 other nations total, and it appears 2 of them are already engaged in lively real estate exchanges.

I resent your calling my reporters "scouts" sir. The name scout implies some nefarious purpose. My reporters are harmless noncombatants.

And besides, they never get caught (well, almost never).
If they annoy you, just stick a spear in them. They die really fast.

According to my calculations LA R'Iyeh's gem income increased from 24 to 48 during the last turn. Should we expect it to be up to 96 next turn, doubling again?

I can sub in for a nation as needed. I've noticed there are a couple AIs in the game now. Is this because they are close to being wiped out or are they still playable? If so, I can hop in for a spot.

And this IS a fun post. I'm not even in the game and I'm interested. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

It is a fun game so far fo sure. The nations that were set to AI had some serious issues to overcome, and I expect them to be dead soon. As to subbing, i'm pretty sure a position will open up soon if you keep reading this post http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

MA ULM is AI

I was one who set myself to AI. I screwed myself by declaring war on the first neigbor I encountered. In my defence they were way too close. Found myself with hostile neigbors in the south and east, And found my national troops were worthless against LA Atlantis. I had 1 province and my capital under seige and no standing army. That is AI time if I have ever heard it. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...es/Injured.gif

I need a sub for 2 weeks. I should have remembered earlier, but it is late now.

I am playing LA Jomon. I can send a PM to fill my sub in. I am in a decent (if perhaps slightly below average) position, and near the top of the research graph.

It is only 6 - 8 turns, and thank you in advance,

Since to be honest you might add that you are 1st in army size, dominion and forts. Also 2nd in provinces, 3rd in gems and considering that you are LA ermor your doing very well in research as well as income.

Yea right LOL! I can't compete with him at all in the water and my mages aren't even close to his in ability. I could run him a bit ragged on land, but I think we know who would win that in the long run....

I also understand he has NAP agreements with many of his bordering water nations... which means he is probably going to start in on the land nations soon...

Those water nations need to betray him, all at once, in order to prevent his victory.

Our priests are convinced that the Triton Kings have been, are, and allways will be the true rulers of the sea. As far as they're concerned R'lyehs options are:

1) Submission and acceptance of this undeniable fact.
2) Emigration towards lands not in the purview of the Triton Kings, i.e. dry land.
3) Stubborness and destruction

Actually, the only graph where im more than marginally stronger than some nations, like amhazairs, is gems and thats cause he hasn't done as many voice of tiamats yet. You are only painting this "listen to me or the game is already over" scenario because i'm attacking you (and i have no way to successfully invade you either). Also to propose that the game is over at turn 20 is just ridiculous, and reminds me of some of your previous statements. Like for example how niefelheim would destroy you in 15 turns and take out several nations surrounding him before his death. Yeah, we all saw how true that scenario became.

Yep... I recall saying that... um... oh wait... I never said that. Of course the game isn't over yet. I will say that if you are left completely alone LA R'lyeh's already strong position will only get stronger.

I'm just pointing out that you are ahead in Gems, Income and Provinces and are extremely difficult to defeat because you can attack land nations at will and can retreat back to the water without fear of reprisals.

You can try an draw attention away from your very strong position and deflect it onto me, but I'm confident that most players will look at the facts and conclude that you are a much greater menace than me.

I have never said my position is not a strong one, I have gotten of to a fine start. There are however other nations that has a gotten nice starts. Also you seem to belive in the charts as the only truth. I recently played a blood nation in a game where i was severly behind in the gem charts, but I had 600+ slaves/turn and a summoning circle (60% discount http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/eek.gif). My nation was not exactly weak even if the gem chart suggested it. Basically your dark visions are a bit premature, don't you think?. I will give you one thing tho, I should have been a bit more discrete and obfuscated my strengh in better ways, but oh well tiamat is fun http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif.

Do we get to list all of the "proven facts" about game play? What about "the one with the most provinces by turn XX will probably win" or something like that. Or the first one to certain globals. Or that it will be a nation with "heim" in the name.

Of course, a usual response was that the type of game could affect all that... hmmm... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Just like to say well done to LoloMo for creating the, 'History of Perpetuality' thread. This will be a excellent way of people who are not in the game or those who get knocked out of keeping up with events should they wish too.

I have one suggestion however, being restricted to 1 post which you keep editing with your story is a excellent idea. However this will mean the thread will slowly sink into the graveyard when no more posts are added. So I suggest when anyone updates there story to add a new post with 'bump' and once it takes it to the top of the pile, just delete that 'bump' post.

This will keep the thread noticable and not make it messy, keep having those good ideas LoloMo... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

Hi everybody!

Last night was the big push for moving in, so after that, I shouldn't have any more problems with playing regularly. I really hope that I haven't missed any turns-maybe someone can verify that for me? I'd appreciate it.

By the way, someone commented about Niefelheim above, and I'd just like to point out that we're still standing, we're still strong, and we're in no danger of disappearing any time soon.

You can't delete posts. And I don't think that the thread is that important that it has to be made a sticky. If everybody would do a writeup after he has left the game the thread would be bumped regularly and people could keep up with it without rechecking every of the posts for edits.

Not sure how to do this, but "bumping" may be the way to go. We'll cross that bridge when we get there (when the thread gets dropped into the next page).

So I ride to his rescue on my white horses (literally), and what does he do? He immediately starts *****ing about wanting his territory back, while LA C'tis and I fight you to the death. Now he's saying that he thinks he could've beaten you by himself.

Anyway, it's obvious that the despicable little craven has no intention of contributing to the war effort.

Grrrrrr. I've a luck-3 dominion, but two of my neighbors have misfortune-3 (with decent dominion scores), and I've lost *4* border provinces so far this game to barbarians/knights. Think that's frustrating when you picked a misfortune scale? Try it when you went with luck 3! Time to forge some jade daggers...

Gandalf Parker June 12th, 2007 01:22 PM

Re: Midgard

Actually there is a window on deletes. I think its 6 hours or a follow-on post. It helps keep the threads logical. After that you can only edit out the text to "remove" a post.

But for your purposes it should work.

I would like to see everyone put their nation at the top of the post. Maybe even in bold. It makes it easier to move back and forth to read both sides of something.

Baalz June 12th, 2007 02:02 PM

Re: Midgard

Also, I'm perhaps a bit biased, but I think how I have my post formatted is a good idea because it gives a clear visual indication when I post an update.

--------------------------------------

That way if you're trying to follow the story you can easily just read the sections you haven't read (or just the ones you want to reread) instead of having to read through the whole thing to figure out where the new stuff is. I'm just thinking many of these posts might end up being quite long and with dozens of them to scan through it'll be hard to figure out who posted something new.
