Re: Perpetuality - The 60 Player MegaGame (Signup)
Unlike LA Pangaea, who apparently has a very exciting and active news network, MA R'Lyeh's news revolves around Shubburath, our almighty god!..... who is still locked in the cellar.
We've even made a reality tv show called:"Where the hell are the damn keys?" It airs on ABC (Aquatic boradcasting corp.) right after Barney Miller ("Fish" from that classic show is a popular character below the waves). http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif |
Leader - LA R\'lyeh
I want everyone to check out the gem income track this turn and look who almost doubled the previous leader's gem income. Any experienced player will tell you that in the long run - gem income is more important than provinces.
I've been checked... has LA'Rlyeh? Is any water nation doing anything about this menance? |
Re: Leader - LA R\'lyeh
I assume there was some Acashic Record/Voice of Tiamat love going on there?
|
Re: Leader - LA R\'lyeh
Not at all, I found a gem site called "godmode". It gives alot of gems and 100k gold/turn that doesnt show on the graphs. Oh, and it also sets anyone who attacks me into an easy AI. Pretty nice actually http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif.
On another note, while I have gotten a nice start im pretty sure the good players will become a much larger threat over time than me. |
Re: Leader - LA R\'lyeh
I did peruse the various charts, but the only other water nation I've encountered is EA R'Lyeh. Heck, I've only encountered 3 other nations total, and it appears 2 of them are already engaged in lively real estate exchanges.

No. If you send me all of your gems, I'll cast Insanity Containment and prevent it from doubling.
|
If interested
I can sub in for a nation as needed. I've noticed there are a couple AIs in the game now. Is this because they are close to being wiped out or are they still playable? If so, I can hop in for a spot.
And this IS a fun post. I'm not even in the game and I'm interested. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif |

Re: Leader - LA R\'lyeh
MA ULM is AI
I was one who set myself to AI. I screwed myself by declaring war on the first neigbor I encountered. In my defence they were way too close. Found myself with hostile neigbors in the south and east, And found my national troops were worthless against LA Atlantis. I had 1 province and my capital under seige and no standing army. That is AI time if I have ever heard it. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...es/Injured.gif Lessons learned: don't rush with MA ULm http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...ies/tongue.gif |
Earn cash from home
For those nations interested in earning a bit of extra cash, or perhaps picking up a few extra gems, come see our booth in the trading house.
Note: construction 4 and fire/earth magic a must - shinuyama |
Re: Earn cash from home
I need a sub for 2 weeks. I should have remembered earlier, but it is late now.
I am playing LA Jomon. I can send a PM to fill my sub in. I am in a decent (if perhaps slightly below average) position, and near the top of the research graph. It is only 6 - 8 turns, and thank you in advance, Fate |
Re: Leader - LA R\'lyeh
He didn't quite double... but he did manage to double the next runner up this turn!

Re: Leader - LA R\'lyeh
Is these repeated gem posts about me pushing you out of the waters ?
Since to be honest you might add that you are 1st in army size, dominion and forts. Also 2nd in provinces, 3rd in gems and considering that you are LA ermor your doing very well in research as well as income. |
Re: Leader - LA R\'lyeh
The best propaganda is not false.
It is bits of the truth with a definite slant in its wording. |

I tell you what.... I'll trade you my position on the charts for yours hmmm? Sound like a deal? |
Re: Leader - LA R\'lyeh
Why don't you guys, LA Ermor and LA R'lyeh battle each another to the death or undeath in Ermors case. Then we will all be 100% certain who is the most powerful...I am fairly sure all the other nations would be ok with this.http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/smirk.gif
The only problem is its hard to know who to root for but come on Ashen empire you can do it... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...es/biggrin.gif (It was the LA R'lyeh's massive clam spamming and teleporting that decieded it) |
Re: Leader - LA R\'lyeh

I also understand he has NAP agreements with many of his bordering water nations... which means he is probably going to start in on the land nations soon... The world is his smörgåsbord! |
Re: Leader - LA R\'lyeh
TFT - Time for Treachery.
Those water nations need to betray him, all at once, in order to prevent his victory. I have consulted my priests and they agree that NAPs with R'lyeh have no moral force. |
Re: Leader - LA R\'lyeh
Intresting... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...es/biggrin.gif
Pity the only priests with any true moral authority are those worshiping Oroboros, Prince of Primeval Depths, King of the Oceans, Prince of Water. Your priests don't happen to worship him, do they? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif |

Re: Leader - LA R\'lyeh
Our priests are convinced that the Triton Kings have been, are, and allways will be the true rulers of the sea. As far as they're concerned R'lyehs options are:
1) Submission and acceptance of this undeniable fact. 2) Emigration towards lands not in the purview of the Triton Kings, i.e. dry land. 3) Stubborness and destruction |
Re: Leader - LA R\'lyeh
Actually, the only graph where im more than marginally stronger than some nations, like amhazairs, is gems and thats cause he hasn't done as many voice of tiamats yet. You are only painting this "listen to me or the game is already over" scenario because i'm attacking you (and i have no way to successfully invade you either). Also to propose that the game is over at turn 20 is just ridiculous, and reminds me of some of your previous statements. Like for example how niefelheim would destroy you in 15 turns and take out several nations surrounding him before his death. Yeah, we all saw how true that scenario became.

I'm just pointing out that you are ahead in Gems, Income and Provinces and are extremely difficult to defeat because you can attack land nations at will and can retreat back to the water without fear of reprisals. You can try an draw attention away from your very strong position and deflect it onto me, but I'm confident that most players will look at the facts and conclude that you are a much greater menace than me. |

Did anyone agree to sub for fate (shuma?)?
|
Re: Perpetuality - The 60 Player MegaGame (Signup)
Velusion, I am still getting those atomated reminders, but i went AI two turns ago. What's the deal?
MA ULM |
Re: Perpetuality - The 60 Player MegaGame (Signup)
Not to worry.
I am still getting them for the Tempest game, where I was eliminated long ago. What I do is delete them. |

Re: Perpetuality - The 60 Player MegaGame (Signup)
Do we get to list all of the "proven facts" about game play? What about "the one with the most provinces by turn XX will probably win" or something like that. Or the first one to certain globals. Or that it will be a nation with "heim" in the name.
Of course, a usual response was that the type of game could affect all that... hmmm... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif |
Re: Perpetuality - The 60 Player MegaGame (Signup)
Gandalf, your signature should just say something like...
"It depends on the type of game you're in." |
Re: Perpetuality - The 60 Player MegaGame (Signup)
KTL= "Kick the Leader" always a good plan.
I'm playing AE vs Dreamlands in another game and it's quite a dofight, very fun, you guys should definatly give it a go. |
Re: Perpetuality - The 60 Player MegaGame (Signup)
Cool a 900 strong army strolls by to cause grief to one of my neighbours...always nice to see abit of overkill... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif
Everyones playing kill my neighbour in my part of the world, fun to watch with my glamoured scouts. |
Re: Perpetuality - The 60 Player MegaGame (Signup)
Just like to say well done to LoloMo for creating the, 'History of Perpetuality' thread. This will be a excellent way of people who are not in the game or those who get knocked out of keeping up with events should they wish too.
I have one suggestion however, being restricted to 1 post which you keep editing with your story is a excellent idea. However this will mean the thread will slowly sink into the graveyard when no more posts are added. So I suggest when anyone updates there story to add a new post with 'bump' and once it takes it to the top of the pile, just delete that 'bump' post. This will keep the thread noticable and not make it messy, keep having those good ideas LoloMo... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif |
Re: Perpetuality - The 60 Player MegaGame (Signup)
Or maybe the thread can be linked in the first post of this thread.

Re: Perpetuality - The 60 Player MegaGame (Signup)
Hi everybody!
Last night was the big push for moving in, so after that, I shouldn't have any more problems with playing regularly. I really hope that I haven't missed any turns-maybe someone can verify that for me? I'd appreciate it. By the way, someone commented about Niefelheim above, and I'd just like to point out that we're still standing, we're still strong, and we're in no danger of disappearing any time soon. |

Re: Midgard
EA C'tis is really pissing me off.
So I ride to his rescue on my white horses (literally), and what does he do? He immediately starts *****ing about wanting his territory back, while LA C'tis and I fight you to the death. Now he's saying that he thinks he could've beaten you by himself. Anyway, it's obvious that the despicable little craven has no intention of contributing to the war effort. |
Re: Midgard
Grrrrrr. I've a luck-3 dominion, but two of my neighbors have misfortune-3 (with decent dominion scores), and I've lost *4* border provinces so far this game to barbarians/knights. Think that's frustrating when you picked a misfortune scale? Try it when you went with luck 3! Time to forge some jade daggers...
|
Re: Midgard
Actually there is a window on deletes. I think its 6 hours or a follow-on post. It helps keep the threads logical. After that you can only edit out the text to "remove" a post.
But for your purposes it should work. I would like to see everyone put their nation at the top of the post. Maybe even in bold. It makes it easier to move back and forth to read both sides of something. |
Re: Midgard
Also, I'm perhaps a bit biased, but I think how I have my post formatted is a good idea because it gives a clear visual indication when I post an update.
-------------------------------------- That way if you're trying to follow the story you can easily just read the sections you haven't read (or just the ones you want to reread) instead of having to read through the whole thing to figure out where the new stuff is. I'm just thinking many of these posts might end up being quite long and with dozens of them to scan through it'll be hard to figure out who posted something new. |
Re: Perpetuality - The 60 Player MegaGame (Signup)
Every time I read FAJ's account of of MA Abysia in the History of Perpetuality thread I can't help but grin. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif
I can't thank him there for the post so I'll do it here... Edit: His dreams were crushed so other's dreams my live on. God bless you FAJ. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif |
