I am not going to be able to participate tonight. The server is up and running at 71.133.6.69:6774 for you guys.

Randallw May 25th, 2006 08:32 PM

Re: Online D&D Gaming

Half an hour to go and the only definite is Narf. Will Shaorin or Violist be there. Might not be worth bothering if we only have 1 or 2 people.

Re: Online D&D Gaming

I'd like to thank Fyron for setting up the server and Narf for coming. Lets hope we have better luck next week.

Well, that was fun, if slow.

One problem seems to be is that only one player seems to be active at a time.

So, what's this all about. I haven't gamed is some time and I miss it greatly.

How does this work, etc.

Re: Online D&D Gaming

We try to get together once a week and use OpenRPG to play. We only have a few players and recently we've had trouble getting everyone together. At the moement we play on thursday evenings at I believe 5pm PST (I am in Australia so for me it's 10am on Friday). I DM, and the party has been going from one area to another. If a player can't make it his character mysteriously dissapears for the week, but none of the characters comments on it.

At the moment, and this may be an opportunity to remind the players. A local "landowner" on a "viking" type island hired the party to find out what happened to one of his aides who was investigating a mine. The party found that the miners had gone insane and that unnatural creatures, by which I mean Cthulhu type stuff, were lurking about the mine where an ancient castle had been discovered. Fyron posts the logs at his site.

http://dnd.spaceempires.net/adventures.php

There is also another game which Narf is part of, which I tried once, but the time wasn't right for me.

As Narf said, we do go a bit slow. I feel that I don't wish to push the players too much and stay at a pace everyone is comfortable with, with the occasional attempt to get things running again. Not that I wouldn't mind getting more done.

Addendum: and if you're interested in playing I am sure the party will agree with me when I say.... WE NEED A CLERIC http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Violist June 4th, 2006 09:37 PM

Re: Online D&D Gaming

Yeah, that's about it. And heck yes, we need a cleric... bards just don't really cut it for healing http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...ies/tongue.gif

And that should be the last time for a while I'll need to leave early, provided the graduation ceremony I have to perform at isn't on a Thursday.

But if we only get two players, it probably isn't worth it.

Hmm, Well I'd be willing to put it off if we're only going to have Narf and Fyron.

Edit: let's make this official. No game this week. Beside I got engrossed in HoI2 and only just realised it's 12.30 in the morning http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Since it is now summer, we can change the time to another slot if it works better for everyone.

Violist June 28th, 2006 05:54 AM

Re: Online D&D Gaming

As far as I know, Thursday evenings work fine for me through the summer.

Should a switch be necessary, Monday is out for me, and Tuesdays I wouldn't be able to arrive until 30 minutes late. However, any other day _should_ be fine.

Re: Online D&D Gaming

Ok I bite, what's the address this time. Actually, are we even playing since no one posted lately. To be honest I'm a tad tired (late night) so if I don't get a reply, in say 15 minutes, I may just go back to bed.

Randallw June 29th, 2006 09:36 PM

Re: Online D&D Gaming

Ok, thanks Violist for trying. For anyone else that comes late I can't really hang around if we can't even get started. On Monday I go to see my boss to get payed. I'll inquire about what times are ok for him in case we have to change.

Oops, I completely forgot about this until just now. Oh well, it wouldn't have mattered much regardless, as my internet connection has been rather unstable all evening.

I had an 'adventure' with the transit system, heat and the search for a slurpie and came home three hours later than I planned.

On the upside, I do now own d20 Future. Which has some pretty pictures, but somewhere around the PL equipment section I started falling asleep.

Randallw June 30th, 2006 02:47 AM

d20 future. Did you have any ideas how to incorporate it? Note though that I wouldn't be willing to buy it.

Given that we just finished fighting nazis in large mechs in the other game...No. Absolutly no idea, don't wanna think about it, you can't make me!

Nazis in mechs? That is not very D&D.
