That Nigerian scam has been around for the past 5 years. Its been on the tv and in the newspapers warning everyone not to get fooled by it. The FBI and other agencies have been looking into it for years. I even remember one of the local radio persona's called them on the air and got the round around from the other side.
It is unbelievable how naive some people are when it comes to money.... If they want to give away their money then I recommend "The Mac Retirement Fund or Deserving Mac Foundation. Now those 2 orgs suuuurrreee could use any money people are willing to throw away..... aahhmmmm by the way in case you didn't read the papers, USA best Mexico and continue foreward into the harsh unknown.... "Weird" has the usual meaning over here, but needless to say, a weird person would take pride in being weird. My observation is that the weird people are the ones who refuse to accept the status quo. Weird people are the ones that make progress. Normal people merely implement it. It takes a weird person to think outside the envelope. I will beat you in the Galactic Bash because you are normal. You will do what normal people do. You will be predictable. I will know what you will do, how you will do it, and when you will do it. As you know, predictability on the battlefield is fatal.

and the overriding principal of all of this is that there is no such thing as a free lunch... anything that seems too good to be true is most likely far too good to be true and a complete scam.
We see a lot of these and if any of you need dissuading, a client of ours WENT to Nigeria on the pretext of being handed about $10,000,000 worth of ADR's for $250,000 of his cash. Needless to say he lost the cash and had a 9 inch knife stuck through his thigh for good measure after being whisked off from the airport Another client sent his bank details and letterhead on the promise of $20,000 and had his account looted of over £40,000 (about $65,000).. all on overdraft and of course his bank is requiring him to repay that cash Think about it.... It has been suggested we go somewhere else for a drink. I happen to know of a few decent (and not so decent) establishments in the area, so here are some suggestions.
Warpz. A trendy bar in the centre of town with loud music and expensive drinks. Lively, with a good selection of cocktails. Their infamous "Vodka Warp Point Wobbler" is to die for. Literally. The Colony. An ecclectic Soho lounge bar serving a wide variety of high quality drinks and vaxin finger foods. Live jazz four days a week and occasional poetry readings. The EEE and whistle. Situated on the outskirts of town, The Whistle Serves good family food and home-cooked ambient wavelengths from 11 'til late. Some excellent Belgian lagers available in the summer. Madame Oogl's Tentacle House. Popular and (ahem) highly accomodating establishment in the red light district of the Cue Cappa quarter. Not much in the way of beer, but the whiskies are satisfactory and the service is extremely stimulating. The Bifrost Lodge. Traditional Space Valkyrie longhouse hotel, with friendly service and a family atmosphere. Proprietress Mad Helga the Decapitator will make you feel right at home. Some fantastic home-brewed meads, and an outdoor cat-roast on Thursdays if the weather's good. These are some of my favourite places, but I'm open to suggestions if anyone knows somewhere better. Or we could just go round Gryph's place. |

pounding down a road at about 40km hit a bump and the back tire started to go out from under me.
I tried to correct it by weight placement... next thing you know my butt is sliding off my seat and i am heading towards the handle bars. ( And it is at the bottom of a valley in the road) so the road starts to climb. I go airborne and the front tire hits the beginning of the hill. The bike starts to flip and i do a face plant into the road ( it changes into a nice rock gravel road here) and go about 10 meters up this road on my stomach and elbows and face... with most of the bike on my back and some of it under me. I did manage to yell 'mother.....' as this was all happening... When it was done i stood up walked to a store near by with my bike... and very politey asked if i could clean myself up...then fell to ground ( I was a little wobbely)... Mephisto, I'll try and clarify what I meant,,,
the ball must be in front of you when attacking the goal and your in the box, or you must have either the ball or a defender between you and the goal, so if there is no ball or defender in front of yu then you are off sides, in addition the opposing side gets a penalty kick from location of the off side penalty,This all pertains when the attacker is in the box. Therefore, If you are driving on opposing goal and are called off sides in the box, you loose the ball, defender gets penalty kick which in turn sends it back down field towards your goal. Sooo, the evaluation, don't get in front of the ball when in the box or you lose the ball.... If not for the rule, it would be an unfair advantage on the attacker vs goalie as he could have teammates swarm around in front of or box in etc the defending goalie, thus being unable to properly defend his/her goal. Important announcement for all Cantina patrons AWOOGA AWOOGA AWOOGA The proprietors of the Cantina (ie me and the Boston Sex Fiend) have decided that it is no longer commercially prudent to operate the said establishment for, inter alios, the following reasons: 1 cashflow is next to non-existent due to the propensity of bartabs operated by the regular clientele, and the recent destruction of said tabs; 2 due to unwanted advances made by Kenyan based Canadian customers to the waitresses, said waitressess have now left our employment; 3 the recent defensive tactics resorted to by the proprietors in order to pacify the Cantina has led to irreparable structural damage; 4 there is a large leaking vat of dogpoo outside the back of the Cantina; 5 the conversation in the Cantina is off topic; and 6 one of the regular customers is about to be barred to suggesting that one of the proprietors (the good looking feline one) might wear a stetson.. The Cantina will close for good at post 1350.
