Re: OT: The House of 1001+ Avatars
How to use an avatar..
1) right click on the image of the avatar you want. (lower in the thread) 2) select "copy shortcut" 3) go to your profile page. (by clicking on the "my profile" link at the top left of the forum page) 4) select "view/update profile". 5) scroll down the page a bit and click on the link called "Select a different avatar image" (It's just above the 'Signature' text entry box) 6) A new window will open and near the botton is a window called "Use Custom URL" Delete any old info in this window and then press ctrl+v to paste the new avatar URL 7) Click on the set URL button. (you should see your avatar appear in the top left of the window) 8) Click on the "Select this Avatar" button beside the pic and close the window if it does not do so itself. 9) Scroll to the bottom of your profile page and click on the "Update Profile" button. 10) come back here and edit one of your Posts or make a new post to see your new avatar in action. Cheers! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif |

I don't want to start a trend, but here it is.
http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/newup...1066248521.gif Personally I don't think the gold pips on your avatar 'fit' due to the color. But hey, use it if you like it. Cheers! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif [ October 15, 2003, 20:11: Message edited by: David E. Gervais ] |

Re: OT: The House of 1001+ Avatars
Hello David,
If you are in an Avatar making mood, how would you feel about making one for me? I'd really like one with the Japanese character for "Chaos" ('Ran' in english) in red, on a black background. I believe you can find such an image on the cover of the Classic Kurosawa movie, here: http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B0...1.LZZZZZZZ.jpg (Obviously, its the squiggly red thing) I would be very grateful if you chose to spend your time thusly! [edit if that proves problematic for some reason - the crazy old guy that is on the cover too would probably be just as good] [ October 16, 2003, 12:23: Message edited by: Ran-Taro ] |

no, no, one of those strength-testing machines where you hit a trigger and depending on how hard you hit it, the block/lights may go all the way up to the bell and go ding.

Re: OT: The House of 1001+ Avatars
walking to the carnival,
Looking around the fairground, I spot a contraption, That looks like fun. For just a dollar, can test my skill, Impress all my friends, and win a prize. I grab the mallot, swing all my might, watch the lights, move up the pole. I hold my breath, and hope to hear, The bell go *Ding*, and my friends cheer. But I never hear, that fatefull *Ding*, the lights stop short, the test I failed. But have no fear, for one dollar more, I can try again, to sound the bell. Been there, done that, again and again, and I still have no prize. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/tongue.gif Cheers! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif |

Gee! It's been quite awhile since I looked at my emporium, there sure are alot of nice unused avatars there. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif Btw: if you decide to use one of the avatars from my emporium, just insert the avatar filemane (right click and 'save as..' to see the name (but don't bother to actually save it.)) Then cut and paste it in the following url...
code:

http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/newuploads/????????.gif

where the "?" become the file name. Re: OT: The House of 1001+ Avatars
As I was looking through your avatar emporium I started to think back to a time when, before you came on-board, all of our avatars where so dull and repetitive. As such I have decided to keep this avatar. It may not fit as well as it did before, but it has a great deal of sentimental value to me. It was silly and rash of me to think about replacing it in the first place. I don’t know if anyone has said this in sometime, so I will say it now: Thank you good sir for all have done.

Re: OT: The House of 1001+ Avatars
David, I've been meaning to ask you about getting a new avatar. Ole Albert is looking just that, old. I know you're supposed to have a butt load of them. How does one go about getting one?
|
Re: OT: The House of 1001+ Avatars
first if you click on the link in my sig to go to my emporium. If you find one you like, move your mouse over it and make a note of the #. post the number here and I'll be glad to fix things (give instructions & link) so that it's as simple as can be to replace your aged avatar.
If you don't see one you like, I could make a custom one, but at the moment there is no way for me to post new avatars http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon9.gif Cheers! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif |
