Geo, you are way out of line here. I have done no such harrassment, I am just trying to discuss something with Richard. Slinging insults at me does not help you any, and it is especially bad coming from a moderator. It is quite possible that I have knowledge you are unaware of, and it is quite possible I could have spoken with other people that know as much as or more than Richard about this sort of stuff.

Fyron, if my attempt at humor was taken as an insult by you I appologize. But I stand by my statement that you have been harrasing Richard about it. I have seen myself in several threads you asking him the same questions and making the same suggestions over and over. Richard has told you no in every case and explained why. If you don't like his answer then private message him or email him about it. But be aware he has very likely made up his mind and you are not doing anything by continuing the incessant badgering. There is no need for you to continue posting in the forum asking the same questions that he has already answered.

If you want to continue this conversation with me do so by PM or email please.

Re: File uploading is broken !

That was a poor attempt at humor... though I do accept your apology for it.

You completley mischaracterize my actions and then want me to not post anything in my defense? That isn't going to happen. First off, making a suggestion to Richard (even if it has been rejected before months ago) is not harrassment or badgering, it is making a suggestion. Harrassment would involve doing this repeatedly over an extended period of time, which I have not done. I have only made a few suggestions at distant intervals. This would be at most the 3rd time I have suggested this, which in no way constitutes "making the same suggestions over and over." A lot can change over a period of months. Also, I did not make the same suggestion this time. I made no mention of phpBB, just an inquiry as to the possibility of going with a better forum software than UBB. Richard brought up phpBB specifically.

Secondly, this is not harrassment, it is trying to discuss the issue. I was merely asking what his objections to phpBB were, and probably would have gotten an answer, had you not decided to go off the deep end. If his objections were sound, there would have been nothing further to discuss. The only objection he gave in the past was about phpBB being a resource hog compared to UBB, which is not actually true. I have discussed such things with a number of knowledgeable people since then. It may use more resources than UBB, but it is certainly not a "hog." Well, there was one more objection, and that was about all the hacks of the UBB he had done. But, nearly all of them are standard features in at least 75% of the forum software out there, phpBB being no exception. I am sure Richard knows this.

Also, it has not been my experience that Richard is adamantly stubborn about things he has made up his mind about and unwilling to change his mind. Quite the contrary, in fact.

If you do not want to read any discussions on this, don't read them. This was a perfectly civil and legitimate discussion.

Actually I should have addressed this a LONG time ago.

I would like you to drop it Fryon, it takes time out of my day to argue the point with you. I could do so, and we could have fun with it, but it takes time away from me checking what folks are saying on the Boards. Plus we just don't see eye to eye on this.

So please drop it, Geo was right to call you on it, and I shouldn't have put him in that place.

No harm done, just let it go.

Geo was definitely not right in how he went about it...

Geo doesn't speak for you, but since you say you don't want to discuss it any more, I guess we won't discuss it any more.
