Gun Boat Diplomacy Works For Me.

I like capturing targets as opposed to obliterating them. In some cases I like to capture planets held by races that breath differant atomspheres than my own race. In this regard they become very valuable members of my expanding empire and provide me with a vialable alternative to AMP's.

Additionally I help this race spread its seed across the galaxy in a way that its own race could never do by themselves.

I do hate it when I spend the time and resources to capture a Home World and forget to set my fleet strategy to Capture Planet. Then hit Strategic instead of Tactical combat. Pooof GONE - turn done. They were very freindly to us from early on and we turn our backs on them and the wiped them all out. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon9.gif A beutiful race gone forever.... I need to speak to the royal counseller about these feelings of regret and deep sadness I feel. Perhaps it is time that I pass my empire on to one of my many million children. (After all I have 30,000 wives that I have still not gifted with my love.) A ruler such as I should now concentrate upon the finer points of life and dedicate himself to helping his beloved wives discover their pleasure thresholds and leave the waring to the younger generations.

I've been trying to figure out my body count from almost 20 years of strategy games. It surely took a big jump since I started playing MOO2 and SEIV. Glassing planets is just so easy. I'd say a few hundreds of billions. A Trillion maybe?

I actually found a body count number from a few years of Star Fleet Battles. It was up over 400,000 .
