Re: OT: Hitchhiker movie
As I said earlier he looks like that little black and white robot they make in Japan that walks down stairs. Perhaps they are trying to make him look like a modern robot, but some executive thought "wouldn't it be funny if he had a big head, you know because he's so small........and it'd be even funnier if he had a beergut"
Edit: just tried looking for more pictures of the midget stormtrooper and found this site. The image is a step up from the tv Version (which was good enough) and way better than the movie one. Edit: first edit makes more sense if I bother to actually give the link http://www.kodie.demon.co.uk/marvin.htm and I finally found the original picture I mentioned. his head IS like pacmans without eyes. http://homepage.ntlworld.com/mjs2000/protomarvin.htm [ July 30, 2004, 04:09: Message edited by: Randallw ] |

Re: OT: Hitchhiker movie
The "new" Marvin doesn't bother me. I loved the old Marvin from the TV series but I'm prepared to have faith in whoever made the decision to design Marvin like this. After all, someone had the sheer brilliance to cast Martin Freedman as Arthur Dent. And that's an encouraging thought, surely.
The thing that amazes me most is that we've been discussing a book-to-movie conVersion for two whole pages now and no one has mentioned Starship Troopers. I mean that's how these threads normally go isn't it? |

The new Marvin looks like the Japanese cartoon character Kogepan.
