Anonymous, nameless players that post nothing in response to the game invariably are the same people who will AWOL.
<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">That may be true. But the fact remains that the player may not read this board at all, reading this board is not a requirement, and the mosehansen site clearly forbids gazumping.

Although I would like to do this, for the same reasons as you, I don't think we have the right.

I now notice that my intended position has also been filled by an anonymous player, who might actually be me, and that I've simply forgotten that I uploaded, and was interrupted by someone before I could confess on the webpage.

But I'm not sure. Should I just overwrite what could possibly be me, and flag the slot, or what?

Who are these random anonymous people anyway?

<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">That concern is certainly valid. On the other hand, it is your game. If anyone's going to have to make the decision, it's you.

Like I said, up to you: Do we just move back into the slots we already claimed beforehand, and possibly risk booting out an anonymous player who stumbled into the game from the webpage (and then didn't bother to actually declare his slot, despite the fact that he was ON the webpage to do so), or would you rather keep the unidentified players instead?

The matter gets more complicated when the unidentified Vanheim player may or may not actually be me.

Up to you: Would you rather go with players who are known and have declared a commitment to play, or a nameless player who has squatted on the slot, who may or may not be committed to playing?

<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">The onus is on you to recall your own actions. If you are in doubt, then I think you should wait until the game starts, and play the position only if your password works.

Do we have any idea when this one will start?
Are you really going to wait for 17 players?

A pity, really. I was hoping I'd get the opportunity to give Graeme a firm drubbing despite his VQ, thus demonstrating the invalidity of his claims.
<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">You do realize Norfleet, that I've never tried to play optimally in any of my games against you, and that BF Ulm doesn't have the free points to make a truly fearsome VQ. If I wanted to make everybody but Ermor really suffer, then I'd pick Miasma C'Tis, not Ulm.

<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">Yes. The Last 2 games I've started with this condition took about 48 hours to fill. This one may take a little longer because fewer people can play at 18 hours per turn.

I'll have Pangaea uploaded sometime tomorrow (er, today) - I'm working on my new theories for rainbow medusas and astral carrion dragons. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif
