OT: Am I correct in assuming that there is still no relationship between the unit/what the unit does, and the heroic they get? That is, thugs and sages are equally likely to get Lightning Reflexes?

You're correct - it's one of the disappointments with Dom3. Would've been nice not to get heroic leadership on scouts anymore (wasted because of 0 leadership, heroic strength on mages, etc.

Personally, I rather like the "poetic injustice" of this, although with the new heroic abilities in Dom 3 that have negative effects too, I can see it getting quite irritating at time.
