Re: Leftover Pretender Points

Cap it at 39 points. You can spend 40 points on another scale. That would help keep it as just a way to use leftover points.

How about each leftover point equals 1 turn until you have a cataclysmically bad luck event in your home province?

each left over point could be an extra 2 gold... small gold reward to prevent abusing the left over points.

From what Ive seen of what the devs keep tight control on or doesnt.. Id say this is the most likely thing we would get.

Extra hp would be cool, but it would need complex restrictions. 15-20 extra hp on a wyrm is no big deal. 20 extra hp on a master lich can make a difference. (Although I wouldnt mind protecting him from wither bones http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif).

I suggest that each point would be a 1% increase round up. So putting points into the wyrm would be better than the lich and not overpower the pretenders who have low HP for a reason.

I also agree with the 39 point cap.

I dont really hear anyone saying that they dont want this feature. This may be one of the most popular and least contriversial requests. I hope the Developers work on this.

I think it depends on how it's done (though I have confidence in IW's decisions), and I'd welcome the opportunity to personalize pretenders in minor ways and/or wouldn't mind getting a few gold or gems or starting troops for leftover points...

... but while I don't object, I also think it's rather petty to be worried about getting something for spare change points. It doesn't seem like a big deal except for people who might want to seek counselling for compulsive penny-pinching or a getting jipped complex. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

yeah if you cant spend leftover points, and you make a design you like, but are left with 39 points you cant spend....well to be efficiant you have to change stratagy somewhat. so now you cannot freely max out your stratagy but are limited by chance. the necessity to choose between efficiancy, and to freely create an individual stratagy has to be minimised as much as possible. no one wants to play a game where one tactic obviously beats all others.
39 points is too much

i think though, that it should work differently alltogether. i think dominion scales have to be tide to your pretender. like if you choose the ice lord, or lord of winter, youd automatically have to choose cold 2 or 3 or something, and a lord of death would automatically have death 2 or 3. and maybe there could be an ability to 'buy' an extra gem site at your capital, or some extra starting units or something. a little more versitility would be nice, so you wont only get maxed out magic/pretender or maxed out dominion scales. it appears to be quite a linear line as it is now, between those two ends.
but i just started playing the game two days ago, so what do i know=P

It would speed up my game creation. I admit that sometimes my first choice irritates me because of left-over points so I go back and play with it abit before deciding that I have no option but to throw them away.
