Re: There\'s not a single Death/Water item in Domin
Endo, let me give you a lesson on life. It is a complete waste of your time to hold a grudge on someone, it's a complete waste of time to vent your anger at someone. It's even MORE a waste of time if you are angry at someone of the internet! Someone you don't even know! THAT is the biggest waste of time. Do yourself a favor...
If you want to continue directing your anger towards me, I'm just going to ignore you from now on. |
Re: There\'s not a single Death/Water item in Domin
Anger? Where did that come from?

Argitoth:
I didn't mean to anger you. Different tone might make people more eager to accept your ideas, including me, and that's why I said what I said. I used aggravation, but I meant irritation or annoyance, something that isn't a big deal even for me. The concept of water and blood not working together (which wasn't yours) also irritates me. There are no underwater blood spells because the (formerly) human blood slaves drown underwater, and that's all there is to it. Leech, Leeching Touch and Hellfire don't require Blood Slaves, and work fine even under water. It seems all blood rituals are limited to just dry land, though. My anger management issues aside, LA Mictlan is indeed Blood/Water nation with some capability of going underwater. Sombre also had plans for a LA Oceania with Blood and unique underwater blood spells. This happened almost a year ago, though, and while Sombre has been busy modding I don't remember him working on this since. Some people in the old thread really liked the idea of inhabitants of the depth coming to dry land to hunt for human blood, while others don't see any mechanical reasons for not being able to find slaves under water. |

I've stopped all work on LA Oceania and to all intents and purposes it's abandoned.
The concept was cool but there were too many hurdles and UW nations just aren't that appealing to me. Additionally people were showing more interest in further work on Warhammer nations. |

This is so cool, now there can be a hijacking of the thread with at least a couple new nerdy discussions, this time about whether (1) imaginary Tritons lay eggs or are placental mammals or are some sort of aquatic marsupial, and whether (2) blood sacrificing has anything to do with menstruating. I'll kick off the discussion with a vote for aquatic marsupial, since with twice the equipment they'll have no trouble with all that frolicking. And I've got to go with a resounding "No" vote on the blood-sacrifice-menstruating deal, since those Aztec dudes generally just yanked the heart out and didn't generally bother with any naughty bits AFAIK. But this brings up a (3)rd discussion point ... is there something special about humans, which makes them the only type of acceptable blood slave? Visual observation shows even Lanka demons cart around a gaggle of human blood slaves, it seems chimpanzees just don't cut it. |
Re: There\'s not a single Death/Water item in Domin
I didn't think mermaids laid eggs.
You know what though? Try doing a blood sacrifice in shark-infested waters. I seriously don't think sacrificing underwater is a good idea. Lol |
Re: There\'s not a single Death/Water item in Domin
I think you can assume the mages Lab won't be shark infested.
More generally, this brings up some conceptual problems with the whole poptype model. You can bloodhunt in any land province and you get human blood slaves. This would seem to indicate that, despite the defenders and recruitables the main population is always human. But those humans, and even those where both defenders and recruitables are human thrive best under the rulers temperature scale. Niefelhiem conquers some indy lizard province and suddenly their crops grow better in the dead of winter? Best not to think about it too much... |
