Make sure you have CBM 1.6 enabled before making your pretender, and make sure you have llamas' post-patch update.

What is the "post-patch update"?
I couldn't find anything about it.

It refers to the post-patch update of CBM and other mods. The link is found in the original post. Mods were messed up by the patch, and llama made a script to fix them. If you downloaded CBM from that link, you are fine.
