Re: Scenario - Bear vs Dragon
They harassed my infantry and disabled a few vehicles. The MPADs were too numerous and effective for my helos to silence them. I lost the 2 OBs helos in the process and all of my attack helos were damaged. I attempted to silence them with off board arty but got counter batteried and lost a 122 platoon.
The ATGMs and the PF-98 LAWs were the real thorns. There were so many that even with CIWS not even my T-90s could not stand up to them for long. SPOLIER ALERT: READ NO FURTHER IF YOU HAVEN'T PLAYED The Russians had a lot of AAA units that never got to shoot at anything. A few suicidal Chinese air strikes would help the human player score some points since the Chinese units are very cheap. |

And thanks to an excellent AAR here's the final version of the scenario.

Re: Scenario - Bear vs Dragon
When I first read the scenario title, "Bear vs Dragon", I thought of the Clancy book by a similar title. Meaning, I associated Dragon with China, not North Korea.
So, I found after a cursory search the following: Bear, Dragon, and Elephant are nicknames for Russia, China, and India. With North Koreans referred by current US troops as "Norks." Admittedly, "Bear v Nork" is not as eye-catching as Dragon. The scenario is a bit long for my tastes, but following the AAR paints "Bear vs Dragon" as an enjoyable scenario. Cheers Shuiir. <br> |
