Greetings adventurers
Our next gathering time can be Tuesday 13th or Thursday 15th at the usual 9pm EST start time.

We had three adventurers tackle a random encounter. They easily killed the 3 initial goblins and the 1 charging orc. But the Ogre was a little different. It was able to deal some damage just before Sulimo delivered the killing blow. One more turn and someone probably wouldn't be talking about it.

Nonetheless the 3 brave lads (Wulf, Sulimo & Hugh) received some drinking gold and some experience to be tallied and delivered soon.

The adventurers (Sulimo, Manny & Wulf) for killing the 3 goblins, 1 orc and ogre get each:
50 gp and 550 exp points

I'll post the gaming session later.

Our next session is in less than 30 hours.
To make any encounter/combat easier I would like for everyone to view the following sites and select a mini character for the map.

Character Mini Site-1
Character Mini Site-2

When you find one you like:
Add a reply with your character name and mini url.

There are plenty of other mini's out there just do a google: openrpg mini search

Manny Ashall

^I'll use that for now, and unfortunately Manny will be "sleeping off a hangover" http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/blush.gif this tuesday, please feel free to continue the adventure without me, just toss me on the back of Sulimo's pack mule or something and fill me in when I come too.

(reason I can't make it, my Mech Warrior 4 Mercs unit is having a Guerrila raid done on our home planet, they need pilots, it's 6 strait drops that can Last up to a half hour each, with a possibillity that we may have to redrop some, and I kick *** in a Marauder http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif .)

Do you mind if I play your character as an NPC?
This way you will gain all the EXP while you are gone and you can pick back up on Thursday.
I will probably let someone else control your character in case I forget a turn or a skill.

Best of luck on your home planet defense.

I guess my subconcious was having a slow day, because I dreamed about this avatar choosing. What I remember is, Hugh had to leave permanently and I left choosing mine to the Last 2.5 hours. I woke up and kept thinking it was 3:30 instead of about 11:00. And all this was done with Posts and me staring at the 'computer screen'.

I dunno, I think it's kind of funny. You know, I've heard that you can't read in your dreams, but I've done it. It doesn't tend to stay the same if I take my 'eyes' of it, but I've done it. And now, to choosing a picy. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

Sorry guys I should have posted the next sessions time. I had it set for Thursday which is in 23 hours from now. But (two not good buts:
I just found out that I had a death in the family and I may be traveling out of town for the funeral. And work has been killing me so I haven't had the time I wanted to get some of the details ready before the next session (like a map to the minotaur lair and other story goodies to help the game).
Instead of dragging you guys on we should just set the next session for a Tuesday the 20th, 9pm EST.

Thanks Narf,
Also give me some feedback on what I can do to improve gameplay, communication, etc. We have a rather large group so I may not always respond to everyone's characters but I have also tried using the whisper and group whisper mode more.
Hit me hard, the more feedback the better.

Re: Online D&D Gaming

On the one hand we are still where we started, but on the other hand we have only had 2 group sessions. We are only just starting out and some of us are learning as we go. I used to run 2nd edition and am getting acquanted with 3.5. I would say we are going fine. We may be a bit slow but I am sure we will speed up after we get some experience.

Re: Online D&D Gaming

Frist and foremost, I am sorry for your loss. Words are never enough and never adequate but they are sincere.

We have a very..... antagonistic group so I think that we need to take it slow in the beginning and establish the reason we are adventuring together. Expecially with the anger management issues and elves and the loner (my char) who wouldnt normally be in a group.

My only advice is realize as DM (though you should very rarely do this) you can override a PC's actions especially at the start when you are setting the senerio up. You should never do it in a manner inconisient with the char, but sometimes when you are setting the senerio the players try to get ahead and force issues that would actually normally just happen. Just let them know as soon as you do it so they are not in limbo about thier char.

Just a thought.

Re: Online D&D Gaming

I offer my condolenses as well.

And I have no complaints so far. Well, except perhaps that Park may be a bit too trusting... especially in trying times like the trading post is having....

But that's just me. I guess what I'm saying is that you don't have to spoon-feed the plot if the characters are willing to try to force it out of the NPCs... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

Just remember to keep things flexible and the NPC reactions realistic, and you'll do a stellar job. And we would know, since we sail thru the cosmos all the time in SE4...

Greetings adventurers,
Our next game session is scheduled for this Tuesday @ 9pm (about 36 hours) but I need a head count for all who CAN and CANNOT attend. So far I have a no for Fyron. If two more can't make it then we can schedule it for Wednesday or Thursday.

What I do have for you now is some information your party should be privy to and probably know already. I did put in some other information concerning equipment and stuff that could take an entire session to get.
Minotaur Lair Information

Here is the map to the minotaur lair. I was acquired and deciphered by Draknor
Minotaur Lair Map

Here is the room descriptions to the lair. Draknor is currently translating the hard to read text but it should be completed later today (if he doesn't drink too much).
