Re: Startrek: Starfury resurrected!

Well Deadzone in that case I got some seriously bad news. Yesterday my comp went nuts and i had to format the HD so everything I had on ST SF is gone. This is a massive set back as I was the only one holding all the modified sound, music, Components and new UI graphics.

Anyone willing to help get this vital data back will be most appreciated.

Sorry guys.

Re: Startrek: Starfury resurrected!

Now that sucks big time

Look around on the net, there are programs that can recover lost data

Re: Startrek: Starfury resurrected!

Well guys we just got another set back.
My comp is fried so this mod is going on standby until further notice, i'm sorry for the inconvience this may cause to anyone but were going to have to wait until I get another comp. Deadzone, data recovery is now completely out of the question.

I can only hope the HD is intact and its only the motherboard that has expired. I'll more info tomorrow hopefully.

Well, to pass the time I have a small one system campaign where you can only fly with the two federation vessels I made. And there's some other federation ships to fight. (EDIT: the other ships are the two ship models you can fly) I upload it to internet tomorrow and post a link here.

Pat I got a job for you. Your to take over the project until im back on my feet. Hopefully, however unlikely, I will be back Online and ready to go soon.
I personally don't believe will happen and that's why im doing this, yesterday we got the monitor on my PC is kick on and the motherboard responded partially but still no device reconition or HD activity. This probably won't be resolved for at least 2-3 weeks "maybe" less.

If Patrick is not up to this task who else feels ready to take over ST SF? Exan? Sam? Deadzone???

My goal here is to ensure the continuation of this mod at all costs, I just hope all of you feel the same way. tomorrow I hope to have better news for all of us.

Wow. Never thought of this situation. I think I can handle it. If you can tell me what is needed or whats next on the list we can get moving. Of cource everyone will help keep me sane. Right? Everybody?

Re: Startrek: Starfury resurrected!

Btw, if you want to fly some Trek themed ships then here's little campaign that can help. It doesn't have any missions for you to do yet. But you can fly around. I was planning on putting few missions like go around a planet, destroy a drone and such but I'm too lazy and this one might be the final Version of it.

Well Pat, I haven't really been following any real plan layout. Truth be told I have just been winging it http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif , but i'll see about getting you some ideas about how to proceed. For now the biggest thing we need done is the recovery of lost data I'd say get some Music, FX, get someone to make new graphics for UI and maybe some new components. But as for you Pat, as Acting Lead Designer http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif your goal is to (For now) move away from the story, unless your really needed, and focus on what you most want to happen in the game. (Confer with me via e-mail if you have ANY problems) Also you'll be in charge of naming Campaigns and determening what order/way/sequence the campaigns will be played in. (Again just throw me an e-mail and i'll help you through the rough stuff) That's, for the most part, what I do.

Ok?

I hope you can still keep the mod going. Starfury could use a Star Trek mod.

I'd be the first to say that ST SF is by far the least anticipated mod coming out for SF, but from what I can see the small group devoted to making it a reality will be remember for years to come.

Re: Startrek: Starfury resurrected!

Welcome to D-Day plus 1 for everyone involved in hurricane Charley yesterday! We survived!! Now lets hurry and tell the world lol. I hope everyone came out on top, it was quite a fierce storm (Cat 4 ouch!), I hope no one was hurt, minor or no damage sustained. If you lived (oops, live lol) in Pinellas County like myself and nearly 800,000 others (that were forced to leave), WOW we got played lol. But if you live inland (were myself and others EVACed) then i'm sorry for your luck, many tears for you Punda Guara (sorry for misspell), 160 homes lost http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon9.gif. What a rush the Last 4 days have been, as you all probably know the Hurricane came straight up through Polk County were ironicially myself and others had evacuated to. Thankfully we were in Polk city and only recieved winds of 50-60 mph and gusts of close to 75 but all in all im thankful to be alive and that so many others found safety in what is affectionally called the Week of Hell.

Over and out.

Its seems Startrek Starfury is dead. Post in the next week or i'm officially plotting ST SF's grave site. The prosperity or doom of a game mod is in your hands don't let this happen!

Remember 1 week from now!!!

For what its worth, I'd love to see this mod come out. And I assume that any work on this mod would also translate easily to a SEV Star Trek mod as well, so it may have a longer shelf life than just Starfury...

Re: Startrek: Starfury resurrected!

Let me rephrase that, if I don't hear from a member of my staff in the next 5 days this mod is history. They'll be reading about it in Obituaries, act fast guys i'm serious about this one!!!

We've worked on this mod for several months and have virually nothing to show for it!! If you have something post it, if not get something. It's up to all of you to see this thing through because if you don't this mod will soon go the way of the dinosaurs. Lets make this mod historic not pre-historic!!
