Hmm, I don't see Atlantis "easily" taking land provinces. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif R'lyeh, maybe. I am not an expert R'lyeh player, but even since Dom 1, Atlantis has always been my favourite nation.

Anyway, I hope for a bloody battle. Maybe the underwater players ally to scourge the lands of those evil beasties. *hint, hint, nudge nudge* Who was playing Atlantis again? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

The HOF is still set to 10!? I thought wanted the big one, considering that there are even more than 10 pretenders around...

well, i think cainehill must have gotten me drunk Last night or something, since i vaguely remember agreeing to exchange the mighty and fearsome spiderfolk for some ragtag bunch of unwashed forest-hippies

http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

so i'll try to figure out a pretender today and upload before tomorrow.

edit: i actually prefer the normal Karan, at least in the present situation. lake access is nice, but not especially troubling in my mind.

I also prefer "normal" Version. Otherwise, one of the water nations is likely to end up dead in the water (in the middle of the land)

Since I know Karan's strategic layout much better on the normal Version, that's what I vote for, too.

I've changed the HOF to 15... I thought I had done that already, but I hadn't. Thanks for pointing this out!

I've kept the Karan map, because it is my impression that that one has more votes, but as you don't care to update the actual vote, I can't be sure without tedious counting. So, if anybody feels strongly about this, please do the counting for me http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

We're missing 3 players currently --- because I will kick anonymous players before starting. I will start the game in 36 hours regardless of status... that should be plenty of time for anybody.

Maps:
(only the two runner-ups)
(lots of votes missing)
Karan: Karacan, Chazar, Tauren
Karan dry Version: Daynarr, Turms, Cainehill

Not to be oppositional, but I vote for the dry Version.

I think being protected from the overly serried land fray is more than enough advantage for the swimmers.

I'm not suggesting it be changed at this late date, but...

why do people like score graphs on?

Seems like it takes a lot out of the game, since pile-on is automatic, rather than learned, and then persuaded.

<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">Well, probably most importantly - graphs can't be turned off with games on mosehansen; Illwinter hasn't given command line arguments to turn them off, iirc.

You're right though - in most games, if one nations gets too huge (twice or more as many provinces as the next largest), everyone seems to dogpile them, rapidly reducing them to the bottom of the pack.

Then again - how much of that is the graph, and how much is that the person over-expanded and never consolidated her gains?

oh lord what a horrendous starting location http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/shock.gif

one land province to expand to, which seems itself adjacent to another capitol. After that, it is adjacent to only one other territory, which is adjacent to what looks like 3 capitols.

lol++

i think this mapfile could have done w/ a few more nostarts http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

one of the water nations looks to be in big trouble too, so at least i'm not alone http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif It's a problem with many of the maps, imo (for instance, Aran is in desperate need of some official #nostarts, the MiddleEarth map is, etc), and only excerbated when you put 17 nations into a map that is really suited for fewer.

Having capitals as VPs just brings us back to another serious flaw, imo, which is that capitals should not show up as VPs. For that matter - VPs should need to be scouted, or at least a switch for it.

Hi all,

my wife get some unexpected holidays so probably I'll have to move away from the net from 13-08 to 22-08 ... I have tryed to find someone who could take my place for this 5 turns in the circle of friend I used to play Dom2, but I was unlucky ... I'll play until 12-08 and after that, if I don't find anyone who could take my place for 9 days (just 4-6 turns) I'll have to revert to AI controlled.

I'm very sorry about that becouse I really like that slow game ... I hope to find someone before my left ... if some one of you have a frined interessed to play just 4-6 turns of C'tis, please, drop me an email at liga(AT)treemme(DOT)org

Hello all, this game has started quite nice and has been keeping a very good pace. However, I have one concern.

Am I correct that only 12 victory points are needed to win and that there are 37 vps total on the map?

I fear that the game will end too soon. Was this intentional and can the victory conditions still be adjusted? I would think that at least something like 20+ victory points would be better...

Good luck to all my opponents http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif
