New turn, and I got bit by the "half-finished turn when checking to see how close it was to a turn being run" syndrome. Great joy. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

I am wondering if we can get an Email list for Diplomacy. Apparently the PM system here is still borked and my Diplomacy is not getting to people or they are not checking their PMs.

Graeme has my Email, if everyone would send him their Email in order to have the Diplomatic Emails.

Looks like someone didn't have time to post that the new turn had run.

A new turn is up.

Diplomacy? You mean, attacking a nation with overwhelming force confident that they'll welcome you with flowers? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

I wasn't the Last one to take a turn, but new turn. Also the luciously unskinned minions of Eldergate seem to be shambling near the Middle East.

The Dryad Harem has stated "I love anything with a bone" thus you are welcome peaceful neighbors, but to keep yourself contained to the unfertile lands of your home and not into the bountiful and buxom domain of the Panii.

Turn 14 has just started. And yet it says that the game will host again in 10 hours. Not sure what to make of that.

Oh, and furry woodland creatures have been sighted near the mouths of the Danube. Let's hope they're friendly!

What happened to 48 hr quickhost? I almost had a stale because it's now set to 24 or some such, and after the turn running today there's now only 18 hours to go.

If Pythium or Pangaea staled (they also only had 4 hours left) it's because the hosting was changed.

The hosting was on 48 hr quickhost. Last night, I rebooted the server with 20 hours left before the deadline, and after 28 hours had passed from the Last hosting. There is no way to tell the server to run the next turn at a maximum of 20 hours, then switch to 48 hours after that, so I have to set the time between hosts to whatever is needed for the rest of the turn.

A New Month.

Buffy, 3rd-Tier Pleasure Nymph was recently wondering at the Pretender from Pythium. Apparently she had recently visited him at his palace for a oiled massage (Massage those Godaches away) and he had paid with credit which was mysteriously stopped payment.

She was quite miffed and so we must know the details!

Cainehill November 21st, 2004 02:21 AM

Re: MP Game - European War

Details? Well - you know how it is. The Inquisition saw a purple flag, and knew that it was the undead vileness of Ermor. As it turned out, they confessed (oh how they confessed!) to sheltering the undead, using a tax shelter to fund massages, slaying JFK, and voting for Perot. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

It was good for the junior inquisitors to see such evidence of the Inquisitions infallibility - not like earlier times, when they witnessed the attack of a purple flag which was not properly overcome. Remember - on a good day, even an orange flag can look purple.

Re: MP Game - European War

New Turn.

The Pangaean Council is quite unhappy with their Boney Neighbors who persist in dragging their sickly, ugly dominion around their land, then have the arrogance to start building *TEMPLES* near our border as if our Dominion were encroaching. This is a verbal warning to the heathens of Ermor to keep their cold, dead, slothful and turmoil laden ways to themselves and not try to push it upon the peaceful groves of Pangaea. The Heart of the Oak is strong and for long has the Mother held ready hand of the wild to those who wish to prey upon our inhabitants.

Vynd November 22nd, 2004 04:44 PM

Re: MP Game - European War

Thrinaff, God of Ermor, apologizes if his awe-inspiring presence and promise of everLasting unlife has proven attractive to the woodland creatures of Pangaea. Thrinaff's subjects constructed the temples of which you speak purely to express the love for Thrinaff found within their cold, lifeless hearts and/or places where their hearts were located in the distant past. They had no thought of interfering with Pangaean affairs (for indeed the vast majority of them are mindless).

I was wondering if we could change this to pure quickhost for a few days, I won't be able to be around to take my turn by whatever the crazy schedule is (not 48h, I know that I've been staling every few turns) and I'm finally to the point where it's important I get my turns in and I will be away for about 3 days. If not, that's okay too.

Graeme Dice November 25th, 2004 11:56 AM

All previous contracts will be upheld? The Dryad Council has tabulated the Caelum Pretender's "Massage Oil and Scented Bath Soaps" bill and it has amounted to 40 Air Gems.

Don't make us send it to collections and we have the utmost good faith you will take care of said bill at the earliest possible time.

Re: MP Game - European War

I need a replacement, I can't play this game anymore. I've staled now, entirely too many times for me to even be relatively happy with the hosting. For whatever reasonings, the game is not taking my turns and I only have 10 minutes to do them and not the time to redo them over and over checking to see if the hosting schedule has changed. Out of the Last 5 turns I have staled 3 of them including the early game ones. If you are interested or know anyone who wants to take over a Pan game, please have them PM or Email me ASAP.

P.S. The position is not a bad one, though the diplomacy seems caught quite in the rut due to people not recieving or not replying to Emails in any sort of timely fashion.

Re: MP Game - European War

I don't know why my server doesn't like your turns Zen, but you certainly have had more than your fair share of problems on it. It has been running on 48 hr quickhost since you asked for it to be put back on the schedule however.

Zen December 3rd, 2004 11:17 PM

Re: MP Game - European War

I don't think it's the machine. There are just certain times that the game doesn't like certain people. I've had it happen on games I've hosted as well. As for the scheduling, since it's quickhost, I have to make sure I only check the game every 48 hours unless I know I have the time to redo a turn in the next 12 hours for the host.

This just isn't the time of year I have with my working schedule and on the move.
