maybe massed composite bows against flagellants? Those can really do a number on them.

Meh well, I did tell him I'd beat his army. Too bad one of my cm's decides instead of casting spells, obviously the best move is to fly up to an army and melee them to death.

I dodn't like nature blesses on TC... mostly because it causes fire demons to charge when they get hit by an arrow.

I guess it might work better with base TC than SA.

New turn just went up.

Re: New Turn

The PW of Ulm has been sent to Morkilus, so I will wait to see if he can still make the current turn in time. Otherwise I might jump in one last time.

Thanks for covering bluebird and keeping the game moving. It is much appreciated.

Ulm = Morkilus

Since I'm taking over Ulm permanently, could all with NAP's with me please PM me as soon as possible? Please be honest, this is the player speaking http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif I hope to avoid further "administrative" difficulties.

Morkilus February 25th, 2006 03:26 PM

Re: Ulm = Morkilus

I know about the cheating message, but be assured I have no idea how to do such a thing. More expert players have suggested it was because of the stale and alchemy, and it tends to happen randomly. In fact I have much less gold than I would like or expect (as usual).

Ironhawk February 25th, 2006 06:49 PM

Re: Ulm = Morkilus

Mork, Ulm and I had a treaty where I gave him 5 death gems and he promised to hand over all his VPs on a turn of my choosing. I expect that you will honor this agreement from the former administration???

Re: New turn

Just thought I would give you all a public service announcement: Arch has begun his invasion of my lands. When he is done he'll have 5-6 vps.

archaeolept March 1st, 2006 08:35 PM

Re: New turn

omg what bs - i have none of those, I am nowhere near getting any of those, I just w/drew my large army back to my lands, Ironhawk has the larger army and higher research - my invasion was prompted by a request for help from Arcos whom Ironhawk was stomping on, and it was IH, not myself, who has been sieging a fourth VP...

"public service announcement" LOL

i believe you forgot to issue a similar "public service" when you commenced your besieging of arcos... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif

Jurri March 1st, 2006 08:48 PM

Re: New turn

Huh, those cheat-alarms seem to be flaring up all over the place! I didn't alchemize anything, and my gold is pretty close to income minus upkeep. A new type of false alarm to me: I had understood those only occured when alchemizing a lot.

As long as the propaganda machines are rolling:

The Infamous Jurri and his mishmash Incredible Hulk-Girls-Gone-Wild army was nearly beaten at Ulm's western stronghold. The tide will turn when our secret weapon is deployed this month, and soon Navy Blue shall fly triumphant yet again...

That was arco's job, not mine. And as you can see, clearly it was not required. As for your so-called retreat, all that says is that you didnt expect me to sacrifice any chance of winning the game by tossing all my gems and pulling my researchers out of the lab to fight. You will be back and my resources will have been exhausted.

zomg PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT!!111

the unstoppable jotun hordes have invaded poor defenceless machaka. Soon all my VPs will be his, and nothing will stand in the way of Jotun gaining ONE GAJILLION victory points.

please, for the love of all gods, this incomparable JOTUN TERRAR must be stopped. Jihad for freedom!!!

Morkilus March 2nd, 2006 07:27 PM

Re: New turn

One thing about easy VP requirements... they make the "early game" alot more interesting. I feel like i have to have a scout surrounding every VP province in order to find out who's about to win.

archaeolept March 2nd, 2006 07:39 PM

Re: New turn

yah no doubt http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

and its scary too - VP games like this are often won by some sudden stealth or teleporting attack; in which case, your scout won't have helped too much.

Your sarcasm shows how little you fear any attack and thus are still in a position of complete dominance. But I intend to crap all over your lands while I still have the power to do so.

Re: New turn

lol whatever man. I should be able to destroy your invading army, eventually, somehow, but its true i'm gonna lose a ton defending myself. why exactly you're so edged up about this all, i've got no idea. Consistency troubles

There seem to be some symptoms of a problem within the game: For one, the continuous cheating messages and for another there were battle replay inconsistencies in one of my battles with Ulm. (Both me and Morkilus observed the inconsistencies.) I take it the server is running version 2.16? Anyone else encountering oddities? (There was the Ulm cheating message too, so it's not a stretch that Pangaea is not the only one with weirdness going on.)

archaeolept March 6th, 2006 02:24 PM

Re: Consistency troubles

no battle inconsistencies that i've noticed - though there were some notable ones in SoL, which is on a completely different server... clearly these problems have not been solved. However, this server is not run by an active player anymore, so it could be that it is running pre-1.16. Or it could be that the CB mod has introduced something (as SoL is also running 5.2), though I have no idea what or how that could be.

as to the cheating messages, I suspect some sort of site (perhaps hidden) as the messages seem to change over between ulm and pan - you guys might be able to identify a couple possible provinces... it would be interesting to know.

Ironhawk March 8th, 2006 06:11 AM

Re: Consistency troubles

This game is running on version 2.16 as is all the other games on this server. Of those I dont recall any mention of cheating messages so it is probably ok. I think that arch's ideas are probably accurate.

Jurri March 10th, 2006 01:06 PM

Re: Consistency troubles

Huh, I was sure I did my turn yesterday yet it says I staled (Sorry Mork for the free ride!)... Well, this one I'll put down for my flu instead of the game http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif Interestingly there was no cheating message for the stale turn, which would indicate that it's something active I do that triggers it.

archaeolept March 10th, 2006 01:30 PM

Re: Consistency troubles

ahh, well that's a simple solution then - just don't do anything in your turns and you won't cheat http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif

Cainehill March 10th, 2006 01:43 PM

Re: Consistency troubles

You do realize the NorfleetTurnEnhancer isn't legit?

( Joke : If he was using NTE, we wouldn't get the cheat messages. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif )

Morkilus March 10th, 2006 01:44 PM

Re: Consistency troubles

What would be amazing is if we could get it to say we cheated at the same time... it would show that it wasn't a site causing the issues. You would think it would pop every turn if it was a site, though.

Did someone crush Trup? Marignon is AI now, wasnt that his nation?

Re: Consistency troubles

I've been semi-crushed in game terms, and completely crushed in my enjoyment of Dom2. Rather than submit half-hearted turns, I figured I'd just ai. Sorry if that inconveniences anyone, but I don't think it will.

I'm on my way out too. Machaka just seiged my capital and he's got not only an AQ but also the Soulstone. My chances for survival are nonexistant. Good playin with you guys!

Turn's up.

archaeolept March 14th, 2006 10:16 PM

Re: Turn\'s up

well, sieging his capital would be more impressive if I could actually scratch the walls. Perhaps Ironhawk would be kind enough to sortie; otherwise it looks like i will be sieging for a long long time... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Ironhawk March 15th, 2006 03:53 PM

Re: Turn\'s up

Uhhh... you guys, I know you ignored me last time but arch is on the verge of winning. He's 3 VPs from victory and there are still 2 VPs left in my lands which I can no longer defend. Once I'm dead he'll be 1 VP from winning with at least two VPs in close proximity to his new borders.

archaeolept March 15th, 2006 07:28 PM

Re: Turn\'s up

ehh, i don't have them yet - and i'm not about to take that one near ulm - that's his http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

I will eventually take the capital, which will bring me to 5 though. Hopefully a couple others will gain some vps before then though

I guess I don't really believe in VP chasing cheeze - though that's fine if someone does go for a VP grab, since dem's the rules. If eventually, in the normal course of events, I gain the 7 vps, well, great. But I plan on just playing normally. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

looks like machakas gonna take this one, since I don't have what it takes to stop his SCs :/

Morkilus March 21st, 2006 01:59 PM

Re: Turn\'s up

Machaka sneak attacked me, supposedly because I was "seiging" four victory points. Ph34r my army of wolvez!

Anyway, unless everyone wants this game to end, hit the spider people hard!

archaeolept March 21st, 2006 02:01 PM

Re: Turn\'s up

umm, it was not a sneak attack. you were sieging four vps - i had no way of knowing w/ what - you could have explained to us in IRC if you wanted, as both peacekeeper and I expressed our concerns, but you did not. I'm not currently going for any VPs, because, well, I don't feel like it http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

If I had "sneak attacked" i would have actually moved my armies into your territories instead of just keeping them sitting there http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Re: Turn\'s up

yah, but i'm balancing it out w/ a bit of AQ rampage on your lands http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif - its true, if i had known that the other sieges were only wolf attacks, I would just have stayed out of it all. But, in the absence of other information, I had to respond to what could have been a VP gank on mork's part...

archaeolept March 31st, 2006 03:55 PM

Re: Turn\'s up

ahh, I was sad to kill Tomato, the heroic dark servant. That was a nailbiter - I didn't know the result when I watched the battle and it looked like my tartarian was going to lose (by retreating) - luckily he prevailed, on round 36 by my estimate...

scary fight

you can bring him back, at least, as a heroic mummy http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif
