dear Senator Blackwind
while I and my Mictlan servants appreciate your compassion but fear it is unlikely to help. Even I feel that my peoples cause is a lost one.

Re: The Senate of Dragon Country [sign up now!]

Yeah sorry about that, I'm not sure if my net connection went down over the weekend or what. I'm at work right now but I'll see more when I get home this evening. Hopefully the server just crashed and we can pickup where we left off. (IE no stale turns to deal with)

Wish May 8th, 2006 10:21 PM

Re: The Senate of Dragon Country [sign up now!]

well a stalew turn or two will just make us all richer. at least it will be across the board.

ZeWanker May 9th, 2006 01:17 AM

Re: The Senate of Dragon Country [sign up now!]

it would also mean the rich get richer... But its not an issue as my computer had just crashed shouldn't be an issue in the future.

hooray for the game being active again, boo for losing a province to barbarians

shovah May 9th, 2006 01:07 PM

Re: The Senate of Dragon Country [sign up now!]

ok cya around. indies that i have no way to defeat in my current state and the expansionist pythium have all the provinces around my capitol other than 1 which is low income and has nothing else special so bye.

im not dropping, just officially declaring my defeat.

Re: The Senate of Dragon Country [sign up now!]

Kr'Clidack speaks:

Declaring one's own weakness or bad luck is not very Draconian. Look at yours truly: already dead! Bunches of times, apparently, since the scales have fallen off my ancient bones. But true dragons are proud and shall fight on despite death and misfortune. And now for some politics:

What do other dragons think of a law protecting the provinces adjacent to their capitol? This may give some dragons room to stretch their wings, in a way. This law should not be retroactive, but will protect adjacent independent provinces that are not taken yet, or are lost to the rampaging barbarians from being taken by an opportunistic wyrm. Shall I draw up the document, or are we uninterested in such a proposal?

Good night, and good luck.

Wish May 10th, 2006 05:02 PM

Re: The Senate of Dragon Country [sign up now!]

I vote such a law acceptable

KissBlade May 10th, 2006 06:28 PM

Re: The Senate of Dragon Country [sign up now!]

I vote such a law acceptable as well. And mind you, I find that resigning in defeat so early is behavior befitting of ... worms! Not dragons.

Proposals an stuff

1) Is everyone in the Senate?

2) This is not quite the procedure outlined above for Senate proposals outlined in the setup above.

3)What about provences that are adjacent to two capitols?

castigated May 11th, 2006 02:37 PM

Re: Proposals an stuff

i believe several senators are dead at this time. i also believe that no official proposal has been made, but rather Kr'Clidack has proposed to make a proposal. no approvals required, since the proper procedures were not followed as of yet.

KissBlade May 11th, 2006 04:15 PM

Re: Proposals an stuff

I am so confused, it makes more sense to me that approvals be brought up here on the forum so it could be discussed and voted on rather than some sort of secret ballot.

Wish May 11th, 2006 07:38 PM

Re: Proposals an stuff

On this map it is impossible to have provinces adjacent to two capitols, as all starting locations are at least 3 provinces apart. (two buffer provinces, and a gateway province)

It is how I designed it.

castigated May 11th, 2006 10:59 PM

Re: Proposals an stuff

"Shall I draw up the document, or are we uninterested in such a proposal?" sounds like he was just looking for feedback. having all the votes on the forum would make it a lot more cluttered and harder to read.

also, to keep things simple, any proposal has to be numbered, as per the original rules. that way, once more than one proposal happens at the same time, we all know what's going on.

Wish May 11th, 2006 11:00 PM

is there a dragon country wiki?

"On this map it is impossible to have provinces adjacent to two capitols, as all starting locations are at least 3 provinces apart. (two buffer provinces, and a gateway province)"

FYI R'yleh and i have only one provence between capitols. Does not matter in our case since i already own it, and it sounds like it's an anomoly related to underwater start.

Wish May 11th, 2006 11:41 PM

Re: Proposals an stuff

oh yeah, except when it is land vs. underwater provinces.

Wish May 11th, 2006 11:42 PM

Re: Proposals an stuff

though the two underwaters should have at least two between eachother, I believe

Slight problem with the voting system:

How do we tell when the deadline should be? Shall the proposing Dragon make the deadline? Should it be by real time, or dragon time? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif

mork, when you post on the forums, it says the time. 24 hours from then is what i was figuring. and i believe the eime is specific to your account, so that shoudl be real time.

Would you mind updating the first post, then? It's not in the text as far as I can see. I may be completely blind tho.

But really what better things do you have to do?

KissBlade May 19th, 2006 03:58 AM

Re: The Senate of Dragon Country [sign up now!]

wait if castigated doesn't feel like playing, this whole game is pointless because we don't even know exactly how the "council" works.

Also, I have had a recent incursion of trogolytes into province 85 (high woods), I shall be removing this nuisance with excessive force. Any interferers will be eaten.

Has this game just petered out?

it's memorial day weekend, people need time for bbq's and what have you, i guess.

The stale clock is set to be extremely long, I mean I didn't even come back to check all weekend, and when I did come back we where waiting on 4 people

ZeWanker May 29th, 2006 11:13 PM

Re: So...what\'s up?

The program crashed half way through the weekend so I reset it. Still got 24 hours for the next turn. Speaking of which does cast or PK care if I force host? Or do they plan on getting replacements/ going to AI?

Tyrant June 2nd, 2006 10:26 PM

Re: So...what\'s up?

Not all of 'em for sure. I'm going to call roll with an in game message and see who is still around. If it's fewer than 5 i'm thinking we should bag it.

Reverend Zombie June 3rd, 2006 10:18 AM

Re: The Senate of Dragon Country [server is up!]

Looks as though at LEAST 6 of us are still playing: Pyth, Ctis, Mari, Van, Jot and Tien Chi. Man, R'lyeh and Mict have yet to do the current turn.

KissBlade June 3rd, 2006 12:54 PM

Re: The Senate of Dragon Country [server is up!]

I'm playing but I'm thinking of just calling it since the guy who's supposed to actually handle the council affairs isn't even playing. Unless we get a replacement for that at the very least, I'm not even sure of what to do with the game.
