So start with 10? We should be getting this game off the ground soon.

Sheap November 16th, 2006 11:42 PM

Re: Late Age game random settings, random nations

OK, Utgard and Ermor are both out, but tibbs wants to join. Everyone else has uploaded, so I will start the game once it has been decided whether tibbs will play or not.

Saarud November 17th, 2006 03:18 AM

Re: Late Age game random settings, random nations

It's ok with me to give Ermor to tibbs even though he would practicly be the only one chosing his nation.

Folket November 17th, 2006 05:16 AM

Re: Late Age game random settings, random nations

It would be more fair to just start with ten players, since we have said no to other people earlier.

Meglobob November 17th, 2006 09:07 AM

Re: Late Age game random settings, random nations

I would like to see tibbs play if possible, just the luck of the draw if space is available in the game and as for choice, well he only as Ermor to choose from really, doesn't he?

tibbs November 17th, 2006 11:40 AM

Re: Late Age game random settings, random nations

No pressure from me. Whatever you guys think is in the best interest of the game.

P.S.
If you wanted to start tonight and decide to include Ermor, I can have my pretender uploaded by 5pm CDT today.

Ditto. I have no problem if tibbs wants and gets Ermor.

OK. I will start the game at ~8PM Pacific time tonight. If tibbs has uploaded by then, great. If not, I will start it without him http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Re: Late Age game random settings, random nations

OK, im ready to upload, but do I need to download any mods. And do I play with the patched version or unpatched?

I glanced through all these posts and did see mention of a mod suggested to be used. Maybe the 1st post can be updated will all relevant information?

Thanks

Re: Late Age game random settings, random nations

yeah, hunter to LI mod. Get it here: http://www.shrapnelcommunity.com/thr...?Number=469685
(This is the one that the server has, I got it from page 3 of this thread). You should use 3.01 with the mod to create your pretender.

If you do not use the mod you will get a "cheating" message from the server and we will have to restart... so everyone make sure this is the mod you used...

tibbs November 18th, 2006 12:58 AM

Re: Late Age game random settings, random nations

I cannot connect to the server. Anyone else having problem? I didn't have the mod installed when I uploaded my pretender though. I have re-created him with the mod now though in case we need to upload again.

Sheap November 18th, 2006 01:21 AM

Re: Late Age game random settings, random nations

You will need to re-upload, but there is no problem with the server, you probably typed the IP or port wrong. I will leave the server up for uploads until you fix it (I was just getting ready to start it, it may be a few minutes)

Sheap November 18th, 2006 01:26 AM

Re: Late Age game random settings, random nations

OK, server has been reset. Everyone's old god has been retained except ermor, I erased that one, re-upload it with the mod.

Anyone who may have uploaded without the mod, please re-upload and let me know! Server starts tonight!

tibbs November 18th, 2006 03:12 AM

Pretender uploaded with the mod enabled. Sorry for the delay.

ok um wtf? I picked aby and put in my password and it dosnt work...

Folket November 18th, 2006 06:40 AM

Re: Late Age game random settings, random nations

Try other passwords that you might have used.

If you are unable to get your turn, perhaps we will have to put you AI.

I have been considering to make a new game since this one was so popular and alot of people wanting to play could not.

Sheap November 18th, 2006 06:41 AM

Re: Late Age game random settings, random nations

I tried it and it works fine, you must be doing something wrong... passwords are case sensitive.

Also don't forget, you are in both games on my server, if you are using different passwords for each game make sure you are on the right port.

Edit to add: Server keeps crashing, an ill omen. Don't worry too much if the server seems to not be up, right now.

Edit to add again: I don't think the hosting schedule for this game has been specified anywhere so I picked untimed quickhost. If it should be 24h quickhost or something else, let me know.

Re: Late Age game random settings, random nations

Zebion: I'm not sure about that problem. You should contact support if it continues. Are you playing on Linux or Mac by any chance? If so I have an idea.
Shovah: I don't think the server was down at the point you posted that last message, but you do seem to have played your turn, so right now it looks like all is well.

Ulm, Pangaea and Patala are all still out, but Pangaea is Zebion who is still having technical problems.

Re: Late Age game random settings, random nations

It works now,the server must not have sent me the map before

Sheap November 19th, 2006 09:28 AM

Re: Late Age game random settings, random nations

Forums were down, but the server was not and Ulm and Patala are still out. What should be done? Saturday is usually the best day to play a turn, anyone who stales on the first day of a new game on a Saturday, I would conclude is not interested. I can reset the game without them if they haven't played by say mid day tomorrow. (No one would have to re-upload pretenders).

Zebion November 19th, 2006 04:35 PM

Re: Late Age game random settings, random nations

Couldn't you set them to AI and continue on? Although if necessary you could reset, its only the first turn afterall

I just checked,Patala has indeed played his turn, although Ulm isn't

Sheap November 19th, 2006 05:31 PM

Re: Late Age game random settings, random nations

Personally I would rather prefer to reset a game on turn 1 than play with an AI nation, however it is not my game, I just host it. Where is Folket?

FAJ November 19th, 2006 06:57 PM

Re: Late Age game random settings, random nations

I would rather it be restarted, with no AI.

Also, could we set it to 24 quickhost?

Kydorias November 19th, 2006 06:59 PM

Re: Late Age game random settings, random nations

I apologize for the delay in Patala's turn. What was supposed to be a Friday night birthday party for a friend ended up going through Sunday morning so I couldn't process a turn on Saturday.

Sheap November 19th, 2006 07:46 PM

Re: Late Age game random settings, random nations

Do we have consensus to boot ulm and reset with everyone else?

I will turn on 24h quickhost if that is what it is supposed to be, it was never specified in the game setup. But I will wait until the situation with Ulm is resolved.

Shovah32 November 19th, 2006 07:55 PM

Re: Late Age game random settings, random nations

yea, playing with an ai played will give 1 or 2 nations a big advantage (whoever is closest to the ai)

Kydorias November 19th, 2006 09:17 PM

Re: Late Age game random settings, random nations

I agree with booting Ulm and resetting if we cannot find a replacement human player quickly.

Sheap November 19th, 2006 10:06 PM

Re: Late Age game random settings, random nations

OK, unless Ulm magically appears I will eject him forcefully and reset the game sometime tonight.

Sheap November 20th, 2006 01:38 AM

Re: Late Age game random settings, random nations

OK, game has been reset, no Ulm. CHECK YOUR NATION and make sure it is correct - this has been a rough start and it's conceivable there could be some sort of mixup.

What? My brother could not get the IP of the server yesterday as the forum was down. he was going to play the turn today.

Saarud November 20th, 2006 04:39 AM

Wow, this thread is 10 pages long and we still have not played turn 1, u got to laugh. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...es/biggrin.gif

So what now? Continue as we are? Or go for 3rd time lucky?

Sheap November 20th, 2006 04:51 AM

Re: Late Age game random settings, random nations

People are really itching to get the game moving. If someone hasn't even played turn 1 after two days, it's understandable that people would want to move on without him.

I haven't erased the old game. I can put it back up. In fact that is what I will do. I will put the old game on port 2001 and the new game on port 2002 until people figure out whether Ulm will actually play or not.

Both games are on untimed quickhost, which will set to 24h quickhost once a turn actually gets played unless someone objects.

Teraswaerto November 20th, 2006 05:14 AM

Re: Late Age game random settings, random nations

24h quickhost sounds good. Even if someone does object, well, if the game goes too slowly, like this one has up to now, people will lose interest.

I'll quite happily play in both games as long as they are both up. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...ies/tongue.gif
