Re: All Emails

Lol, sorry it's NTJedi fault he convinced me that light infantry stats weren't thematic.

If you want I re-post the light infantry version. But should a heroe unable to kill a 1hp false horror really be allowed to live ?

Well, a poor commander without a magic weapon shouldn't die to a bug IMO http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

Ok here is the LI version (I even gave the hunter attack 1 so he shouldn't be able to kill Cainehill's heroes with his spear).

But everyone need to re-load the mod if we want to use it.

Teraswaerto November 7th, 2006 02:08 PM

Re: All Emails

I'm fine either way, but the false horror thing isn't really thematic either. Hunter of Heroes is quite the opposite of a false horror. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...ies/stupid.gif

Ok. We'll use the Light Infantry version of the Mod.

I mail the LI version to everyone to avoid to have half the players with the first one.

Since I have everyone's email, I will do it right now. (I am not sure if you have everyone's email, because the email I sent earlier today was missing at least 1 address.)

I have a quick question, what is the "ftherlnd" file that is present in all my singleplayer game directories? It isn't present in my network games. Will it be present for a PBEM game?

I have not heard from Stossel. Anybody want Vanheim? I hope to start the game by 9pm Boston time (in 2.5 hours).

Restart

Ooops! I need to restart the game.

I forgot to make a master password for the game, which is needed in case a player disappears. That way, the players can agree to turn the missing player to AI.

Sorry.

Re: Restart

So long you didn't restart because some players have silly start positions... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

It a great pity that i'd a good start position.

I see trouble coming with old/new game turns files come together etc.

PashaDawg November 8th, 2006 10:03 AM

Re: Restart

Nah. It has nothing to do with player positions. I actually like my starting position. However, I think it is a bad idea to play the game with this number of players without being able to turn a missing player AI. That could ruin the fun.

Twan November 8th, 2006 10:06 AM

Re: Restart

You're not alone I had probably the best possible start, a capital with 6 neighbours and 2 vp close. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/Sick.gif

Anyway let's restart.

Dawnstrike....
So, every mid-summer turn, VP's are accumulated. This is going to be a fairly quick game? Any theories on the turn count at game's end? My guess is 48 turns if the game is starting at summer, or 54 turns if the game starts in the winter.
Thoughts?

Re: Restart

It starts in spring... I think VPs tick over in four months (between turns 4 and 5)! Or maybe even a month earlier, I forget... Turn 52 is my guess, which puts me in idealogical agreement with YellowCactus... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

PashaDawg November 9th, 2006 12:49 AM

Re: Restart

I was sort of thinking the game would end around Turn 60 or 72. I think it will be hard for a player to get 3 VP provinces early in the game, but we shall see. My hope is that the game ends while it is still fun and not a mega turn chore.

Re: Turn 2

I definitly read the rules wrong. I thought you need 13 from 18 VP to win. Maybe because i had in mind that dominions is an epic game and my mind clarified the accumulated clause in a wrong way.

So the game lasts only for 3-4 years.

However i planned for a longer game and my strategy isn't fast...

I had the same idea as you. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif I was looking forward to a long game with (almost) all the nations, but I guess this will be fun too.

Re: Turn 2

We are for in this situation, I've also missed that the vp were *cumulative*, I should have read more carrefully (and used a death 3 scale http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif ).

Re: Turn 2

Y'all will have tons of fun! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

I think it is more likely the game will last approx. 5 - 8 years (through turn 88 approx.) It will be hard for any particular player to control 3-4 VP provinces for long unless the other players are not paying attention.

There is 1 VP province per player. So, players need to scramble to prevent any particular player from grabbing too many of them. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

It's quite craptacular that this Dom2 bug wasn't quashed for Dom3.

I wonder if our host might forward the savegame file for this turn to the developers...? I read in another thread that this bug hadn't been documented in Dom3 yet.

If they could/intended to fix it, wouldn't they have done so a loong time ago? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif Well, be it as it may, at the moment they have much worse bugs to fix anyways.

That Meglobob has balls, btw. Doesn't bode well for the other two dudes with gills.
