Re: Tempest - Early Era, Random Nations (Signup)
Hmmm, so much for the trusting Atlanteans.
My alliance with R'Iyeh seems to have ended! He has built a huge army with his extra gold, which has just invaded and now bears down on my capital. |
Re: Tempest - Early Era, Random Nations (Signup)
Peace between atlantis and R'lyeh would be just so unthematic.
|
Re: Tempest - Early Era, Random Nations (Signup)
Your star crushed our big city and enslaved a large number of our race and broke their minds, lets be friends!
|
Re: Tempest - Early Era, Random Nations (Signup)
Could be worse, you coulda started next to Helheim.
Do not expect the Helheimians (lol spelling?) to accept anything less than war with your nation. I approached them with a non-aggression pact that was rather largely in their favor, yet all I recieved was a messenger bringing news of the battle they had brought to me and my lands. If you are near them I would suggest to attack and rid the world of their barbaric kind before they tire of fighting me and come for your nation. Nammu Prophet of C'tis |
Re: Tempest - Early Era, Random Nations (Signup)
The people of Helheim have peacefully negotiated with many a nation, and broke no pact with you. The offer that you say was so largely in our favor was merely a standard agreement of non-aggression. Do not make it sound like it was so much in our favor, especially when the lands that you offered us have already been claimed by another nation.

Re: Tempest - Early Era, Random Nations (Signup)
I received a request to delay hosting of the game for a few hours so someone could get thier turnin, so Quickhost will be extended for another few hours this turn.

Re: Tempest - Early Era, Random Nations (Signup)
Atlantis is almost dead, but has done the rest of the world great good by a vanquishing R'Iyeh's Wyrm pretender with my remaining measely PD forces. Alas, if this cowardly worm is called back, its magical prowness will be reduced to 3 Earth and only 1 Air.
Woe be the day this vile crawler erred and slithered into the seas of its former ally. R'Iyeh will be sorry for his treachery, and by the time he fumbles into the former home of Atlantis, there will be no lab nor mighty fortress to be found to comfort or protect his evil and exhausted hordes. Meanwhile, my true ally and avenger will continue to receive my blessings, gems and gold, while I am still able to tread water. |
Re: Tempest - Early Era, Random Nations (Signup)
Yes the the joyful news of victory after victory against the weak and soon to be enslaved race of atlantis, is saddened by the news of that particular death.

This is an auction, for the Brazen Vessel, so please enter your bids below, all will be considered. The most pleasing bid will get the prize. Which means Baalz is in pole position with 15 astral gems. C'mon everyone, do you really want Baalz to have it? He will do very evil things with it... But it will be his unless I get a better offer. The auction ends after next turn by the way, I will send a universal message to everyone with the offer, just in case 1 or 2 players do not check this thread on a regular basis. Got to be fair. |
Re: Auction, please enter your bids...
20 pearls.
|
Re: Auction, please enter your bids...
But it's likely to be my last gem, a collector's item, I'm sure. It's perhaps appropriate that it's a death gem.
|
Re: Auction, please enter your bids...
You dare bid against the voice of the Bloody God? You invite the wrath of Inferno you fool. All men make mistakes however. Our bid is raised to 25 astral pearls and know well that any further bids will not be so easily forgiven.

Re: Auction, please enter your bids...
This "moving without attacking" Vanheim thing is driving me up the damn wall. Is there any way I can set it so they just naturally move and THEN I can set them to sneak if I want to?
|
Re: Auction, please enter your bids...
Nix, of course, CTRL+leftclick or use the "Move" order manually after you have set them to sneaking into an enemy province, by clicking on the commander's orders.
|
Re: Auction, please enter your bids...
I know I can change it afterwards, but I keep forgetting that a regular click just makes them sneak around like the sneaky bastards they are.
|
Re: Auction, please enter your bids...
I'm having the same problem with the Ulmish armies Nix - so you aren't alone http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Re: Auction, please enter your bids...

The only solution I found was a double check of my orders using F1, just look for sneak, then double check you actually want them to be sneaky. |
Re: Auction, please enter your bids...
I learned to play C'tis for this game. They are real fun, but it's ashame I couldn't last longer. I was looking forward to their middle/late game. Starting next to Helheim rushing me, and Mictlan with no where to grow to except through my lands is no good. I'm gonna hold on a couple more turns hopefully, but the lizard men are soon to be done for.
|
Sneaking
Put a non-stealth troop in with each commander and they will un-sneakify them. This is even better with glamour since the enemy STILL can't see your troops, as opposed to normal sneaking guys.
Sorry BigD, you got a rough start. Nice crushing of my first attack though, I must say that I was unpleasantly surprised by that (and the battle report from when I lost that merc company scared the heck out of me). |
Re: Sneaking
Yeah I was pleased with what I got done. I coulda done a couple things different I suppose, but I don't think much of anything could withstand the starting position I got.
|
Re: Sneaking
Why don't you all just get used to ALWAYS use CTRL+leftclick for movement orders and only release the CTRL key when you really want to move stealthy units, like scouts? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...s/confused.gif
|
Re: Sneaking
Indeed, you were certainly painful enough even after tumbling with Helheim. Not looking forward to storming over all that skellispam to finish you off...don't suppose you want to just surrender? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

Re: Auction, please enter your bids...
Lanka is in slight trouble. Lanka thinks choosing war, not love, in Lanka's relations with Lanka's second neighbour has something to do with it. Lanka's closest neighbour was niefel. In future lives, Lanka will be wiser. Perhaps. Lanka will fight to the death, for sure.
|
Re: Auction, please enter your bids...
E/N blessed?
|
Re: Auction, please enter your bids...
The Lords of Niefelheim salute their worthy foes in the nation of Lanka. We have no doubt that they will fight to the bitter end and respect them all the more for it.

Re: Auction, please enter your bids...
Vel - I'm going to be traveling this weekend. I'll try to stay on top of my turns, but if you could hold the hosting up a tad if they're not in quite on time that would be great (I'll have my laptop with me, but I'm travelling cross-country, so I'll be spending a couple of nearly-full days in a flying aluminum can). I should be ok for the other 2 games since they're on 48 hour hosts.
I don't think it will be a problem, but I wanted to say something ahead of time just in case. Thanks, Micah (Helheim) |
Re: Auction, please enter your bids...
Micah, could you still play your turn on Eventide, per chance? You're the last player left to upload his turn...
Have fun on your trip! |
Re: Auction, please enter your bids...
Not that you'd know it from the pace of the game (great job everyone!), but I think we're already on 48 hour host so you should be fine.
|
Re: Auction, please enter your bids...
Done. I don't leave for another 24 hours, I was just sulking because Calmon is wrecking me.
|
Re: Auction, please enter your bids...
Going to be travelling during the weekend...So will not be able to do my turns then.

Re: Auction, please enter your bids...
Hey arco, sorry for blowing up your 3500 gold of sacreds.

Re: Auction, please enter your bids...
I'll be watching the deadlines. I might push some back a little since we have at least two people who might stale.

Re: Auction, please enter your bids...
The lizard king has fallen.
The nation of C’tis has gone to the honorable grave of a warrior as the Mictlan wind blows south. Seeing an opportunity as they feuded with other neighbors, the holy warriors of the land of the jungle fell upon the swamplands like an avalanch of boulders. Eagle warriors dropped on all sides like hammers as a solid core of jaguar warriors marched down the center as the anvil. After several bloody battles our generals gazed upon the home citadel of the lizard folk and considered the options. The sauromancers are well known for their command of the undead, and the slaying of undead is cold methodical work not worthy work for raising the blood of the holy warriors. So a score of priests were brought forward in preparation before the bloody army marched on the last stronghold of the lizards. In the face of taunts from the forked tongues, we waited until the time was right, then marched in force. Indeed hundreds of walking dead were raised as the C’tis militia tried once in life, and once again in death to repulse us. The eagle warriors were not able to make to the back lines in time to stem the flow of undead by slaying the sauromancers, so the sweaty work of hacking bodies into pieces too small to shuffle forward fell to the anvil of jaguar warriors. Many of the weaker eagle warriors fell, and the rest routed, but the core of our army blasted through the brittle bones and clumsy shuffling long dead as chime after chime of banishment rained down around them. Warriors until the end, the sauromancers retreated after the walking dead inflicted significant casualties, only to return the following month summoning another large group of undead in a last show of defiance before we could storm their castle. Unsupported by an army however, the undead did not last very long alone and the last of the sauromancers was slain as the wave of our holy warriors overwhelmed the flow of undead. Now, fittingly, we digest our large meal like a snake- outwardly dormant but already thinking about where our next meal will come from. |
Re: Auction, please enter your bids...
Well, obviously Miv, the clever bugger of Lanka was not so clever after all! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...es/biggrin.gif
As a rule the universe hates clever buggers...with clever names...a bit like the god Terminator who was the 1st to be terminated in a alternative universe... |
Re: Auction, please enter your bids...
Clever bugger... what a cool title

Re: Auction, please enter your bids...
