4 hours left, waiting for Machaka

About 4 hours left on the timer with Machaka left to move. Should I reset the timer so that Lily can get her turn in? Her position seems rather futile, being overrun by three other nations, but she can still wreak some havoc before she goes down. And she might even make a miraculous comeback. (I've seen that happen in another game I've been in)

In case you don't want to play anymore and your position is helpless, please set yourself to AI. And if you need more time to do your turns, since you've arrived at turn 40 now, I can extend the timer a little bit. To 52 hours, for example.

lch July 8th, 2007 07:50 AM

Oops

Nevermind, the game just hosted. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif

Re: Version 3.08 Newbie game (waiting for players)

I've just set myself to AI. Thanks for the game, all. Two of you I could just about hold off, but three... I think I did you all a fair bit of damage though on my way out. Pangaea probably took the least damage and gained by far the most though. Sneaky Pangaea.

lch July 14th, 2007 06:46 PM

What are you doing, hibernating?

Hi, I noticed that three players staled last turn: Man, Pangea and R'lyeh. How come? It seems like the email notification is busted at the moment, is that the reason?

I got an email from one of my games some days ago which was dated over a year ago. Since this was odd I checked the server time, but it was okay. I think I am missing a number of turn notifications from the other games that I am hosting. Can't tell what it is exactly, I have no idea, sorry.

Should I prolong or turn off the timer for this game?

jutetrea July 14th, 2007 06:51 PM

Re: What are you doing, hibernating?

Yeah, somethings messed up. I could have sworn I submitted a turn. Shrug. I made one leetle error (sneaked when I didn't want to sneak) and now I'm disappointed with the whole game http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif Got my god killed...again.

So no worries on my part

Are you sure about that? I'll check my backups and redo the turn if necessary. Although that often leads to complications.

lch July 14th, 2007 07:10 PM

Re: What are you doing, hibernating?

Hmm, according to the backups you three played your last turn on Wednesday, while there was a hosting on Thursday. I don't have any trace of new turns from you, sorry. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif

jutetrea July 14th, 2007 07:14 PM

Re: What are you doing, hibernating?

I may have done it and just not submitted it, again, no worries at least on my part

jutetrea July 14th, 2007 07:17 PM

Re: What are you doing, hibernating?

as an FYI last turn I had and believed I submitted was 44. Thought I submitted it Friday.

I take it back, kind of a bummer as I'd set all my priests to call god, so missed a turn of priestly whining for their savior.

Re: What are you doing, hibernating?

Your God's corpse shouldn't be able to be revived because there are about 60 crossbow bolts stuck in her. It should work like the vampire and stakes...

Eldanesh July 16th, 2007 03:48 PM

Re: What are you doing, hibernating?

Err, we're at -8 hours now on the turn, and only Mow hasn't gone. I'm pretty sure he's never going to go anyway, please host.

lch July 16th, 2007 05:06 PM

Re: What are you doing, hibernating?

I'll contact him and ask if he wants to go to AI.

Mow July 17th, 2007 05:13 AM

Re: What are you doing, hibernating?

Sorry Foks, I missed the notifikation for the new turn.

Unfortunate I can only play this evening. Well, it will be one of my last turns.

Eldanesh July 17th, 2007 07:31 AM

Re: What are you doing, hibernating?

Aight.. I still don't have the new turn hosted though.

lch July 17th, 2007 07:43 AM

Re: What are you doing, hibernating?

I believe that he's at work now and will play his turn in a couple of hours.

no internet access

Dear fellow players,
i have no internet access at the moment (i sit in the public library) and will maybe miss some turns until internet get fixed in my home. please don't switch me to A.I.

lch July 23rd, 2007 05:32 AM

Re: no internet access

Okay, since I'm missing the turns from two other players, I'll reset the timer once today. Since Mow/Abysia only controls one unit, I have set him to AI now, too. In case your situation is this helpless please make yourself become computer controlled.

Mow July 23rd, 2007 06:10 AM

Re: no internet access

Hey, moment, I controll 3 units!

Well ok, I have no change to grow again. But I will stay there several rounds. :-)

Ok, was a short and nice game. Maybe I should not try to play a god as it is designed.

Thanks for the game.

Eldanesh July 24th, 2007 05:10 PM

Re: no internet access

So did teh turn actually go or what? I'm confused.

lch July 24th, 2007 06:22 PM

Re: no internet access

I had reset the timer for Man / Horst F. JENS so that he can take care of his internet trouble. I'll get a one-time sub now and hope that he finds back into the game after that.

Eldanesh July 24th, 2007 07:02 PM

Re: no internet access

Aight, I may have to consult about a sub for next week.
oh and for the record having your prophet get too old sucks.

Eldanesh July 26th, 2007 10:19 AM

Re: no internet access

Is it just me or is auto host off completely now? Sorry for complaining 8D. We are all done but it hasn't hosted. also Ich I would ask you to play another turn or 2 for me if you don't mind.

Eldanesh July 27th, 2007 10:27 AM

Re: no internet access

Pm'ed u ich.

lch July 27th, 2007 10:34 AM

Re: no internet access

Quick hosting is still on. Any news from Man?

So Eldanesh, you have not found a sub for you? I think I could play some turns in case you haven't.

Eldanesh July 27th, 2007 01:43 PM

Re: no internet access

Yes, as I said before, I pm'ed you with some general instructions, thanks a million!

lch July 31st, 2007 09:26 AM

Re: no internet access

Cupido staled last turn and could stale another one. Does anybody know what the trouble is? Is anybody with him in some other game? If he stales again I'm going to look for a sub. Man seems to have made it back into the game, at last.

jutetrea August 1st, 2007 08:34 PM

Re: no internet access

I will be doing this turn and then possibly staling for the next. Wife is in labor, probably have the kid early tomorrow morning and then have to stay at the hospital for 2 days with no internet. Hopefully back Sunday.

Ich if you want to sub, go ahead or we can do whatever.

lch August 1st, 2007 09:05 PM

Re: no internet access

Whoooooo, good luck with that and congratulations. Forget about the game, I'll take care that somebody plays your turn, don't worry.

jutetrea August 1st, 2007 09:14 PM

Re: no internet access

Thanks man, contractions are at about 7 min apart now, so the hospital should be imminent.

Re: no internet access

Sorry for my stale turns. I went spontaneous on vacation over the weekend and after that I simply forgot my Dominion games. (Never thought this could happen...)

Eldanesh August 4th, 2007 08:21 AM

Re: no internet access

I am back now btw. I case Ich didn't notice, I managed to get 2 of 3 turns done while I was away, despite having internet in 5 minute intervals...

lch August 4th, 2007 01:52 PM

Re: no internet access

Yeah, I noticed that somebody botched up my turn and cancelled all the remote site searchings that I had set in place all right... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...ies/tongue.gif I have since waited if you'd play the turn yourself before the timer runs out. Good to hear you're back.

cupido2 August 15th, 2007 04:14 PM

server down?

Is the server down?

jutetrea August 19th, 2007 05:29 PM

Re: server down?

Think I'm going to go AI unless someone wants to put forth the effort of finding a sub or unless Ich wants to take it over.

lch September 4th, 2007 10:25 AM

Turn notification script updated

I was travelling at that time, didn't have net access that often and even forgot my password for the board... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

I have removed the nations which were defeated or turned AI from the turn notification script. In case you drop out and don't want to receive the emails any longer, please send me a PM or just reply back to the notification email for that.

Hello, as said before i have let another player continue to play man. what must i do so that he get the email notifications of a new turn instead of me ?

Sorry for not be able to play any more, but i have a busy time ahead of me.
It was very cool playing with you. I never imagined that multiplayer can be so much fun.
greetings,
-Horst

I already changed it. I saw your request and Cor's reply, I was about to send your password to Cor myself but decided against it, since it's still your nation.

No problem, end games can be very very difficult to prepare, especially when you're in a good position. Takes loads of time. I have to say, I pictured you as one of the weakest nations when I monitored the game (the first 20-25 turns) but your excessive use of diplomacy seem to have paid off well. You really knew how to use it to the fullest extend.

Yes, that's what I learned in my first long MP: diplomacy is most powerful weapon

Hmm I'm not very often at the forum and I don't know what to write at the moment. Except that it's a real pain to get rid of Marignon's dominion.

Cor2 October 1st, 2007 04:25 PM

Re: Turn notification script updated

Yeah. I have been wondering what was going on with Margi.
I dont see any provinces belonging to her. But wow is she resiliant.

lch October 2nd, 2007 08:16 AM

How\'s the timer?

Since this game is past 100 turns, I just want to make sure: Is the timer setting okay for you guys?

Siever October 2nd, 2007 08:52 AM

Re: How\'s the timer?

48h is OK for me

Cor2 October 2nd, 2007 03:43 PM

Re: How\'s the timer?

48 sounds good.

Cor2 October 2nd, 2007 05:29 PM

Re: How\'s the timer?

Wow. there have been some serious clashes between Man and Tein Chi. Man has come out on top for most of them. hope you had some scouts so you could see these epic battles.

cupido2 October 3rd, 2007 03:47 PM

Re: How\'s the timer?

Either my scouts have jingles on their clothes and a sign at their back reading "R'LYEH SCOUT! KILL ME!" or Marignon and Tien Chi have really good patrols. The moment they set foot in other provinces they are slaughtered.

I noticed that myself, they both have an insane love of PD.
