Re: Consecrated Ground: EA PBEM (Playing)
Paused hosting until Thursday
|
Re: Consecrated Ground: EA PBEM (Playing)
Guys, the game will host tomorrow.
Is everyone back on board turn wise with llamaserver? Janlm, are willing to continue in spite of your staled turn? Not sure why that happened just to you, I know it's frustrating. |
Re: Consecrated Ground: EA PBEM (Playing)
I'm back on board.
|
Re: Consecrated Ground: EA PBEM (Playing)
yeah its frustrating, whatever has happened, it completely ruined my game and cost me an army and a castle. And I am certain that I did send the turn in good time.. But sure, lets continue..
|
Re: Consecrated Ground: EA PBEM (Playing)
Something is seriously wrong with the current turn (#30). Not to complain too much, I know the hosts are working hard for our collective beneifit but there are three bad things ... 1. I requested a turn resend from llamaserver and it sent one, but there was nothing attached to the file. 2. I sent in a turn 29, based on the last one that was sent, roughtly a week ago, but it reported I staled. 3. It also reported my arch enemy, Vanheim, who we still hate grrrr, winning a battle in Pastenna ... However, when I look at the map it shows my troops control pastenna and I can recruit units and raise PD, the whole 9 yards. I am not sure what to do at this point ... Any suggestions are welcome? |
Re: Consecrated Ground: EA PBEM (Playing)
I think the problem must be the two versions of turn 29, you must have picked the wrong one and it has messed up the game for you. I don't know about the resends or the stale turn though. I agree with you that strange things is going on..
|
Re: Consecrated Ground: EA PBEM (Playing)
You think there is any way to fix things?
|
Re: Consecrated Ground: EA PBEM (Playing)
You normally get an response from llamabeast that your turnfile is wrong. Check your emails in response to your turn.
The status page for the game showed ermor as the only missing nation. Didn't you check this page? Its on the llama server. And you should have get a remember 3 hours before hosting that your turn is still missing. However vanheim missed the turn before so it should not that bad for you. |
Re: Consecrated Ground: EA PBEM (Playing)
So, anyone at war yet, or is this game a bundled of peace-loving hippies for my Ghouls to eat?
|
Re: Consecrated Ground: EA PBEM (Playing)
Yes, I looked at the status page, and i did not receive any email regarding an unsynched turn |
Re: Consecrated Ground: EA PBEM (Playing)
Uhmm...Can't do anything myself, but occasionally when a single turns' given trouble, in games I've administered... Send the turn file in with a different email address - you can do this without changing where it sends the turns to. It has occasionally helped.
Stupid ideas... use at your own risk. Delete folder. Redownload turn file. Problem: Resend not working. Uhmm... Delete .2h (order file). Try again. You still have your turn file in the directory, right? Check to see whether your email's storage space is full. It doesn't fill up for me often, but someone emailed me this softphone voip software, and that filled me right up to the limit. Postpone until the llama makes his daily email check? Open your game, tap to file manager, delete .2h, and resave. Alternatively, whenever I said delete, you could just rename to early_ermor.2h.bak or whatever, so the game won't recognize it. |

Re: Consecrated Ground: EA PBEM (Playing)
Davegg, did you resolve any of your problems. When Llamaserver hiccuped recently, it sent two turns with the same turn # (29). The first (earlier) of those turns was the right one to play. I think, if you didn't play it, the system will send you the wrong turn if you request it.
|
Re: Consecrated Ground: EA PBEM (Playing)
To calmon, no the status page said I played
Thrawn: It looks like that the new turn (I think its 31) just ignored what i said last time, gave me a stale and then synched me up to everyone else. So, I am back to playing. Now I also have a stack of gold from three stale turns, anyone want some? I could use some water breathing equipment |
Re: Consecrated Ground: EA PBEM (Playing)
I'd like some gold please
|
Re: Consecrated Ground: EA PBEM (Playing)
Hello guys - sorry, this thread wasn't on my favourites list for some reason, so I missed all this (the favourites get e-mailed to me). Anyway - davegg - sorry the messup earlier led to you staling. I can sort of guess what happened although I'm not sure, but anyway it's obviously a consequence of that earlier messup at the start of the week and shouldn't happen again. Hope it hasn't disadvantaged you too severely.

We are ok, in our happy little corner; If anyone wants to trade for some water breathing items, please PM me |
FROM LLAMABEAST
Hi everyone,
So, while I was doing stuff with the server this morning (starting the new game Urapara, in fact), Something Very Strange happened. Specifically, the file with the data about all the games in it got replaced by a version from a week or two back. This is, actually, Impossible, since I don't even keep old versions of that file. Definitely a case of a ghost in the machine. Anyway, the consequence was that every single game hosted (the hosting times were in the past you see). So you'll all have got erroneous "new turns". I've now rolled back all the games, but the unfortunate side effect is that you'll all have to send your turns in again if you'd already done so. Also the hosting times are later than they would have been, and the 'Request turn resend' option won't work this turn Summary: Ignore the most recent "New turn" e-mail, and if you had already sent in your 2h file for the current turn, send it in again. Anyway, sorry about that. llamabeast |
Re: FROM LLAMABEAST
My read of the above, is that we should ignore the turn files we received (mine says 29). If we had already played our turn, we should resubmit the 2H file. If we haven't yet played our turns, we should do so, and submit the 2H file. In other words, ignore the new turn that came in.
|
Re: FROM LLAMABEAST
Yes, that's right.
Hmm, maybe I suffer from an unclear writing style. I will have to work on it. |
Re: FROM LLAMABEAST
Well, I tried to send in the last turn file. This is the message I received:
"Hello from the LlamaServer. I received an e-mail from you, but unfortunately there seems to be a problem with it. Your 2h file seems to be for a different turn number to the one the game's currently on. The 2h file is for turn 32, while the game is now on turn 33." Any suggestions Llama? I received two turn files in the mail. Is one of those maybe turn 33, even though it says 29? Did everyone else have this problem? |
Re: FROM LLAMABEAST
Looking into it...
|
Re: FROM LLAMABEAST
Okay - I'll be honest, I'm really really confused.
I can see that it sent turn 32 out at some point, and almost all of you had sent in your 2h files for turn 32. Then, when it went crazy, it sent out its "Turn 29"s, which I _think_ were actually Turn 34s, but I'm not sure as I have no way of checking. This is strange, because it implies that it hosted twice, which makes no sense. The earliest fatherland file (the one needed to host the game) that I have is Turn 33. This would be fine, since almost everyone took turn 32. The only trouble is that I don't have the .trn files for turn 33, so it may not be possible for you to actually take the turn. So, I would like it if you could check all the e-mails you got, and see if any of them are turn 33 (Early Winter). If they are, please let me know, and that is the turn to take. |
Re: FROM LLAMABEAST
I am offically confused, as well. Maybe turn #29 is haunted? Anyway ... I received two turn files, whose subject lines indicate they are from turn #29. I wasafraid to try to play them on my saved game, which is on turn #32. To make a long story short, I made a copy of the saved game and downloaded the first emailed turn. It correctly played turn 32 and gave me turn 33 to play, so I think thats the right way to go. Hope this helps, DV |
Re: FROM LLAMABEAST
Aha! Okay, you have _two_ "Turn 29"s?
Yes, in that case, play the one which is really turn 33, "early winter". Apologies guys. |
Re: FROM LLAMABEAST
My second turn file is turn 34 "winter" in which i've stalled. (I still had 6 hours time to do my last turn)
so this can't be correct |
Re: FROM LLAMABEAST
And what about the first one?
|
Re: FROM LLAMABEAST
First one is turn 33 (subject from email says 29).
However in this one i stalled as well because i were making my turn, had 6 hours time before hosting and suddently the game hosted and i got the email with the new 2 turns in. Does it mean you can't recover it correctly? |
Re: FROM LLAMABEAST
Oh I see, sorry.
I'm really sorry calmon, but yes, I can't recover it I'm afraid, so I can't undo you staling. I know this is really very unfair indeed, but there's nothing I can do about it. Sorry. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif |
Re: FROM LLAMABEAST
Does this mean we all staled our turns? If so, that is somewhat MORE fair. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif
|
Re: FROM LLAMABEAST
No, just people who hadn't got their turns in when it inexplicably hosted twice. Only Helheim and Neifelheim staled I think.
|
Re: FROM LLAMABEAST
Did we resolve the email reply to Thrawn when he tried to mail in his turn?
|
Re: FROM LLAMABEAST
Well I think so yes. He needs to find which of the "turn 29"s is really turn 33 and play that one.
|
Re: FROM LLAMABEAST
I guess an option to think on is whether or not we all would agree to stale this turn, to make things fair for Hleheim and Niefelheim? I don't know what the appropriate action is for these types of things.
|
Re: FROM LLAMABEAST
Sure was annoying to miss a turn, thought I had 4 hours to do it...oh well.
|
Re: FROM LLAMABEAST
I'm for postponing. I should be able to get my turn in tonight (midnight EST), but it looks like I'll need to redo my entire turn.
|
Re: FROM LLAMABEAST
wow, now the game is refusing my turn. What is up with this game http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/evil.gif
|
Re: FROM LLAMABEAST
My turn was accepted are you sure you used the "early winter" turn? For me it was in the email with the turn 29 subject.
|
Re: FROM LLAMABEAST
Likewise, Calmon
|
Re: FROM LLAMABEAST
I'm not the admin, but I'm curious, especially since I haven't seen any stalling. Still having problems?
So, have you heard about a world war? From the rumors I've heard, things look like they're about to get really messy for a lot of nations. |
Re: FROM LLAMABEAST
One last utterance...
Dang quakes. Musta built my capital on a fault line. This is the second time one's taken down my temple, and this with a bloody luck 3 scale. Just after I rebuilt it, too... |
Re: FROM LLAMABEAST
maybe its some kind of hint from the guy above... oh waits, thats you http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Forge of the Ancients
So, Helheim has cast Forge of the Ancients. Do I
a). continue warring against Niefelheim, ignore the forge. I like to think I have the momentum. b). make peace with Niefelheim and turn on Helheim. c). Feed pearls to an astral nation capable of dispelling. |
Re: Forge of the Ancients
forge of the ancients not good |
Re: Forge of the Ancients
Anyone capable of dispelling it shortly, within six months? I have a cache of Astral Pearls I can contribute.
|
Re: Forge of the Ancients
Instead of wasteing time dispelling, I would suggest you attack Helheim directly! |
Re: Forge of the Ancients
As I'm not interested in a two front war, no. I _think_ i sent evilhomer a pm, but I may be mistaken. Anyways, I'm still at war with Niefelheim, so my choice of action ATM is
A). Continue war with Niefelheim. Ignore Forge of the Ancients. |
