In the meantime couldn't someone just mail him the .trn file? They're not player specific right?

That could help for now, but the game is long so the problem has to be solved.

There is one trn file per nation, and everyone does only get his own, but i can change player emails. @falkor, do you have another email address that i can use? Or else i could set temporary my e-mail (or someones you trust) as yours and upload the turns to the forum, but in this case i need your original one so that i can set it back afterwards.

Re: EA Game \"A Blessing in Disguise\"

It could just be a curious one-off problem. These things do seem to happen very occasionally, for reasons I can't work out (it claims to have successfully sent the file, the file's in the right place etc.). Anyway, I'll send the file manually to Falkor now, and if it happens again we'll have to think more.

Thanks llamabeast,
I'm awaiting your mail.

I didn't get the turn file either. Turns out my spam filter was deleting the message right away instead of moving it to the spam folder. I did receive the first two turns without a problem, though.

I have a small request.
I'd like to ask that we keep the late hour of hosting (arond 23 GMT) Mo 14th to Wed 16th.
I'm away on Tu. 15th and won't be able to play the turn, but with this setting I could send the files on time without any problem.
So, I'm just asking that we don't change anything til Wednesday.
Will be grateful http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

The timing of hosting does not play good for me.
So, I'd like to change my request.
Could I have 8 hours more for the next turn (5), please?
It should be enough to let me finnish the turn after I'm back on Wednesday.
Colud someone of you guys support me here, please? No 48 hour needed just 32.
This would be great.
Thanks,

I don't mind switching to a 32-hour clock for turn 5.

Lanka/Coobe has staled twice in a row now, out of four turns.

Time to set AI?

Hadrian_II January 15th, 2008 06:36 PM

i'll wait for a third time, and set him to AI then.

Re: EA Game \"A Blessing in Disguise\"

Perhaps make a post to see if anyone would like to take over? Missing 3 of the first 5 turns is rough, but he's still not out of the running per say.

I just got out of a game that had a lot of people go AI and it really made the game not as much fun. Even though I got a chance to mop up 3 AI's, it wasn't very rewarding. I can do that in single player if I want to.

That's odd. Coobe just signed up for Fallacy. Did anyone try sending him a PM?

Re: EA Game \"A Blessing in Disguise\"

I think Coobe also abandoned the game Rhoscrowther without warning/switching to AI. He's gonna get a bit of a bad rep doing this

I dont know if its fun to sub for a nation that will be seriously lagging back in expansion.

coobe wrote me about troubles with the llamaserver and is asking for sub, so i see if someone is interested, and else i will set him to AI.

Hm, seems we need someone outside the game to set lanka to AI. (If i do it myself, i might have problems as my CD key is already used by me)

Re: EA Game \"A Blessing in Disguise\"

Hmm, so that's how you want to play it, is it, my giant neighbours?

Formoria's capital is province 279. He is currently heading due west with two large (for Fomoria) armies--right through my territories. In a turn or two, I will know whether I can beat him off to remain in the game or not.

In the meantime, since he hasn't said word one to me--ignoring my NAP offer and trying to rush me--I thought I would see if I cannot display his strategy for all to see, in the hopes that he will not be able to concentrate exclusively on us poor innocent birdmen. Those north, south, and east of Province 279 may have freer expansion if they head in his direction, since two major armies of his are concentrating on invading me. Those west of 279, well...best move in his direction before he gobbles up all the provinces! ; )

He has at least a F4/W4/S4/N4 bless, and I *think* he has a E9 bless (his units' Prot went up by 3--not 4--once blessed). He does not have any other 9-point bless that I can see.

--Caelum.

Edit: *sigh* Direction good yes do I! ; )

I just got a warning email saying the turn is hosting in three turns. I had seriously thought that I had submitted my turn already.

Is it possible to get the turn delayed for an extra three hours until I can get off of work.

Sir_Dr_D January 18th, 2008 04:18 PM

Re: EA Game \"A Blessing in Disguise\"

AS an aside, I think that warnings should be sent out 8 hours in advance. 8 hours is the maount of time people usually are at work, and is the amount of time people spend sleeping. A lot of the time a 3 hour warning doesn't help that much.

Did I say I'd taken over Lanka? I meant to. I've taken over Lanka for a bit, rather than set them AI immediately, as it looks fun.

Unfortunately one of my first actions was forgetting to transfer the e-mail address to mine, and staling. Oh well.

Bad, bad wizards. Pest, I tell you.
The forests of Pangaea was full of them before Delophne founded The Holy Garden. They all run away, though. Except for the one who was hanged on the nearby tree... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...es/biggrin.gif

Well I'm done for. Vanheim swooped in with his W9/F9 Vanhere's and jumped on my capitol.

I still haven't gotten any Order from the scales bug, and just didn't have enough money the whole game to even build many units.

So I'm going AI.

That was a crazy @$%#@ battle we just had on your capital...I had completely forgotten that Fomoria had sailing as well. When you bit at my armies old position while I sailed to your capital I thought for sure I had 2 turns of sieging before you'd even reach me.

It's a shame you got the scales bug (hopefully it will be fixed in the next patch). Not to mention the 2 barbarian invasions that have hit you since we've been fighting, just bad luck in general for you this game.

The peaceful, innocent winged folk of Caelum wish to public denounce the misguided warmongering followers of Ulm!

They have had the unmitigated gall to refuse to roll over and let themselves be trampled under our unprovoked, agressive invasion deep into their provinces.

But it is far, far worse than that! Those vile, greedy imperialists have seen fit to invade our own peaceful provinces! And more! They have committed the unforgiveable crime of succeeding admirably in their counterattack!

We cannot stop their onslaught, we can only slow it down. All NAPs with all nations are hereby rescinded. Caelum retreats to their mountainous home, to see who will finally crack our egg.

Be warned! Our final shell shall break a great many teeth indeed before it is cracked!

Yomi chose to follow Caelum's lead and attack Ulm. This has proved to be an unmitigated disaster.

Ulm will have armies at my door in short order and the sacred mountain of the Oni will be firmly in their hands within months. My apologies to Ulm for not putting up anything remotely resembling opposition.

I have been trying to move my armies from Dun Vale (237) to Aole (214) for three turns now, but they do nothing. I'm 100% sure that I gave them the right orders. This sucks because my army there has nowhere else to go.
Has anyone experienced a bug like this before? Or could it be a problem with the map?

Tichy January 31st, 2008 03:37 PM

Re: EA Game \"A Blessing in Disguise\"

I've seen it in some SP games. It's really frustrating.
I think it does have something to do with locations on a map. In my SP games movement would be normal all over the place, but I just wouldn't be able to get one army to move from one prov to another.

That's quite odd, i have not seen that one before. My guess is that the provinces are not really connected despite what the neighbor arrow says.
