At last, a hero has emerged, he's fast and he's strong and well, he's subbing for Ctis.

Please welcome Cerlin, the bane of Vanheim and Marverni (hopefully http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif ). Give them hell I say and let them rue the day WL has gone on vacation http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/cool.gif

Baalz, can you please advise about the mechanics of subbing with llamaserver?

Gah, what a miserable turn. I must salute a masterful outmaneuvering by Sauromatia/Digress, and of course the implacable Nieflehiem/Jurri continues to grind me down without so much as noticing the speedbumps I try to throw up. GG guys, Pangea is broken.

Cerlin, welcome to the game. WL, it's been a lot of fun battling it out, have a great vacation.

Baalz, if you'd like I can take over admin duties.

Thank you Valerius.
You know, I've got to hand it to you, you're one helluva cunning and tenacious enemy. Geez, next time I end up your neighbor I'll think long and hard before attacking you. You did very well in your campaign against me and I've enjoyed the excitement as well.
I recall Jurri describing, IIRC, RZ as his kryptonite, during this game I've started to think of you on the same terms. It seems you have an uncanny ability to predict my moves. Mind you I've tried to change pace, tactics and strategy vs. you several times this game and you seemed to predict those changes as well. I think the most likely explanation is we have a very similar thinking pattern or something.

Cerlin April 19th, 2008 07:22 PM

You sure make it sound hopeful for me Wraithlord http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif haha
I'll do my best to try to continue your strats and think of new ones.

Re: Feohtan - EA game, Open

Would it be possible to get an extension? I will do my turn in the chance that its not but this turn had a LOT of stuff to do and Im still figuring out this position. 24 h max but i'd have it done in like 12 hours from the host date.

Valerius April 20th, 2008 03:01 AM

Re: Feohtan - EA game, Open

Thanks very much, WraithLord. Marverni and I had a 2 to 1 advantage yet it felt like for every province we took, you took one of ours (Marverni getting the brunt of your raids). I do think we have a similar way of thinking. I definitely felt that if I didn't keep switching tactics you would make me pay for my predictability.

Cerlin, absolutely. I'll delay the game 24 hours.

Umm, apparently I don't know the difference between PM and forum posts. Well, in case anyone hasn't seen the above post I guess I'll delete it. Looks like I've got a nice item for the Hall of Doh! thread. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...s/rolleyes.gif

Off to a family funeral/tree planting thing in the country this Sunday - will be out of town for the next three days.

Have turn file in so hope I won't hold the game up much.

Hope an extension will be forthcoming for the next turn (24-36 hrs).

Re: Feohtan - EA game, Open

Would it be possible to extend the current hosting period with 24 hours? I am travelling and it looks like I might not make it back in time.

Valerius May 16th, 2008 01:42 PM

Re: Feohtan - EA game, Open

Sure, no problem. I've delayed hosting by a day. I've also turned off quickhost as I'll need a little more time for the next turn. Once that hosts I'll turn quickhost back on.

Digress May 20th, 2008 03:22 AM

Re: Feohtan - EA game, Open

Any chance of a three or four hour extension ?

Won't have my boys in bed before the game hosts - thought I had an extra hour up my sleeve but no. Turn half done ....

Re: Feohtan - EA game, Open

I will be out for the long memorial day weekend, leaving this wednesday and back next tuesday. I might be able to get a turn in over the weekend but can't guarantee it.

Could we postphone the hosting deadline until the 28th? If quickhost is on we might be able to process a turn in between.

Valerius May 20th, 2008 12:56 PM

Re: Feohtan - EA game, Open

Sorry, Digress. I didn't see this or get your PM until after hosting.

I am ok with postponing hosting for the holiday weekend. Are there any objections?

Digress is having computer problems, resulting in his first stale the entire game last turn.

I'm going to delay hosting for a couple days.

Re: Feohtan - EA game, Open

Have machine up and running with Linux/new hard drive and my own ISP/router at home. Have some work to catch up on (some e-mails to deal with) but will get turn in pronto.

The new patch sounds like it is going to do some terribly dire things to my Tartarians .... so much for that cheap way to get some magical diversification going.

Sorry everyone - I should be back up and running real soon.

Digress June 29th, 2008 08:18 PM

Re: Feohtan - EA game, Open

Having trouble getting the turns in at the moment. Would really appreciate a hosting delay. Have PMed Valerius.

Tartarians are wrecking my economy along with spammed nasties - Sauromatia hates you all (and itself ). http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

Re: Feohtan - EA game, Open

I have had to delay hosting for 12 hours - just broke my router. Firmware update has messed up my router (I think) - e-mail not being sent of recieved.

Will get turn in ASAP.

cheers

Re: Feohtan - hosting delays

Hi guys,

I have been handed the keys to the game (admin wise). I have already made unannounced hosting delays, which I will admit was poor form and will not be repeated. It appears I had delayed hosting the last turn long enough for me to get my turn in but allowed Lanka to stale. I also fear that I have done exactly the same thing to Neifelheim a couple of turns ago.

I would like to say that in neither case was it intentional - I based the hosting delays on the 6 hour warning e-mails but it still sucks.

I am not able to get the turn in time this evening and am going to allow myself to stale - and am happy to be replaced as game admin.

cheers
Digress

Digress July 20th, 2008 09:36 AM

Re: Feohtan - hosting delays

It appears that by taking the "I will stale" course I will also allow Neifelheim to stale.

This is less than ideal - I have delayed hosting by 24 hours and hopefully the three of us can work out some sort of hosting schedule.

cheers again,
Digress

Hi Digress - no problem for me.

Would it help you make turns if we extended the hosting period structurally with a few hours?

parcelt August 1st, 2008 04:49 PM

Re: Feohtan - hosting delays

Apologies for the stale - I sent in my turn a few times but the llamaserver wouldn't acknowledge it. I was running late so had to stop trying, hoping that one of my emails would get through after all. Guess not.

Re: Feohtan - hosting delays

Guys, I am going to set myself to AI. I am relocating for work, and this was moved forward by six weeks (was supposed to be mid-september). My schedule is crazy and I can't find the time to get turns done.

I had a blast playing, thanks for the game.

Digress August 5th, 2008 11:04 PM

Re: Feohtan - hosting delays

Turns are something of an issue for me, for a completely different reasons. The last couple of turns I did manage to get in were "maintenance" turns - replacing temples knocked down by own tarts, moving around blood hunters and attempting to hold onto castles.

No forging, no offensive moves ... no rituals (other than monthly ones).

Valerius August 6th, 2008 03:52 AM

Re: Feohtan - hosting delays

Does this mean Jurri's Niefelheim gets the win?

Digress August 6th, 2008 04:03 AM

Re: Feohtan - hosting delays

I reckon that if my tartarians quit pulling my temples down I might be able to get a dom kill in.

I have 10 candles on his capital at present and Lanka has to be putting some pressure on his remaining dominion (along with my continued push). I will PM Jurri to see what he wants to do - have been trying to force him to storm a castle or two to get rid of some of my temples whilst he seems set on economically crippling me. Its been an odd game ...

Valerius August 6th, 2008 04:10 AM

Re: Feohtan - hosting delays

Ok, so the result is still in question. If the game is going to continue is it worth seeking a sub for Lanka?

Re: Feohtan - hosting delays

So guys, who is winning? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Digress August 8th, 2008 08:17 AM

Re: Feohtan - hosting delays

Lanka has been set to AI. I understand that Jurri is likely to set Neifelheim to AI shortly.

If the game was decided on dominion alone Sauromatia wins. I have no idea how powerful Lanka actually was before it went AI.

In short ... I don't know.

I do know that I am an awfully deliquent admin .... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/Sick.gif

Digress August 18th, 2008 01:08 AM

Re: Feohtan - Game started! Uploading pretenders.

Game is finished ... Neifelheim suffered dominion kill two turns after Jurri had set the giants to AI. So many blood slaves went into the effort - pesky candles flickering on in the far corner of the map - deep in Lankan territory.

I think my dominion push would have put Lanka under enormous pressure the moment all of Neifelheim's temples went poof.

I don't know whether I would have won for sure but I reckon I had to be getting close.

Valerius August 20th, 2008 01:07 AM

Re: Feohtan - Game started! Uploading pretenders.

Congratulations, Digress! Nice use of dominion.

I entered the win in the victorious nations thread.
