Re: TigerCat - new MA game (recruiting)

Have fun, Digress. Welcome to the game, Wokeye.

I notice there is a message on the llamaserver that llamabeast has fallen a bit behind in responding to PMs. I'll delay sending in my turn as long as possible to give him a chance to respond. I'd rather this turn not host until we can change the e-mail.

IndyPendant February 20th, 2008 11:41 PM

Re: TigerCat - new MA game (recruiting)

Digress did tell you about the deal we made for which he still needs to give Ermor 250 gold for the next five turns to complete, right? Right?

*cough*

Play nice - have discovered I need to head up to the hardware store before we hit the road.

Oceania owes nothing to no-one - except for a good whacking for R'yleh. Whackitty whack.

Re: TigerCat - new MA game (recruiting)

Ok, I've got the admin password from llamabeast.

Wokeye, I've changed the Oceania e-mail.

Also, Velusion requested a hosting delay so I still haven't sent my turn in and have delayed hosting by 24 hours. Velusion, let me know if you've had a chance to re-submit your turn and I'll host sooner than that.

I've resubmitted the turn. Thanks!

Great, I'll send my turn now.

Have fun Digress, enjoy the trip.

Oceania will send Ermor 250 gold per turn in return for 25 death gems per turn. I'll await the first payment. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Dedas will be taking over Ulm from Jazzepi. I've delayed hosting by 24 hours so he has a chance to look over the position.

The king of Ulm has died! Long live the king!

As the new king of Ulm I proclaim this day to be the day of free beer! Free beer for all I say! You don't like beer? Don't worry, tomorrow it's tequila day! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

I have returned to whack R'yleh some more.

My thanks to Wokeye for keeping things chugging along under the waves. We Oceanian's prefer jelly shots.

I will honour all NAPs entered into by Wokeye and continue to try and build up some scales worth a damn.

Re: TigerCat - new MA game (recruiting)

Gasp! The new dastardly king of Ulm has marched its armies to war against Skaven! It would have been nice if Ulm had at least notified us that they were planning on ignoring the agreements made under the previous king of Ulm.

Nevertheless, we shall mobilize our rat armies and head north, to battle!

Re: TigerCat - new MA game (recruiting)

Call it that if you want, but I was only grabbing an independent province and our armies clashed.

vfb February 26th, 2008 04:02 AM

Re: TigerCat - new MA game (recruiting)

Ulm grabbed an independent province that was part of a previous deal with Skaven.

Skaven's messenger to Ulm said:
Quote:

If you'd like to keep your pact with Skaven, we've agreed to the following border:

Skaven: 175,164,143,150

Ulm: 192,180,182,166

159 (water) is for whoever gets it first.

Ulm's King responded saying that he'd get back to us in a couple of hours.

We received no more messengers, but we thought you would not ignore the border that had been agreed upon, so we only sent sufficient forces to defeat the small indy army in 150. Imagine our surprise to find your warriors there waiting for us.

If Ulm does not wish war with Skaven, then you may notify us that you are leaving 150, and we will resume our peaceful gnawing and scavenging and festering in the forests.

Re: TigerCat - new MA game (recruiting)

The whole old administrative staff have been put to the block, as they tried to run the empire from behind my back. Most probably they thought me to be some gullible fop easily manipulated. I've also sent orders to the troops at the province in question to pull out, and they are doing this as I write this. I can assure you this will not happen again.

vfb February 26th, 2008 05:22 AM

Re: TigerCat - new MA game (recruiting)

A most understandable misunderstanding! There is always much chaos when a new King comes to the crown. The nation of Skaven admires the Ulmish King for his fairness and integrity.

Skaven is most sorry for any insults we may have flung at the shining Knights of Ulm, and regrets our bellicose and untrusting nature, in sending out orders to commit ourselves to battle. Please understand we are just a bunch of dirty rats.

Now we must cut short our apologies, and send new orders to our commanders with great haste!

Berthold payed the ultimate price for his folly. He was also an antisocial type that none liked - that is why he only had one guard. Albrecht on the other hand is having rat for dinner today, and what a feast it is!

REWARD OFFERED!

Ermor would like to place a bounty on Caelum!

Caelum has a Cyclops Pretender that does not have any paths in Astral. This pretender is currently (Turn 24) isolated in a province without any allies, no laboratory, and only my own spy with it. That province is Vath (78).

Ermor offers a bounty of SIXTY GEMS(!!!), in any combination of your choice of Astral, Death, and/or Nature to the nation that manages to slay Caelum's Cyclops, upon showing proof (such as a screenshot). Mind Hunt is probably your best bet, assuming anyone can cast it yet. Alternatively, Ermor will buy Mind Hunt castings of any nation capable of casting the spell.

I will keep running updates on his Cyclops' position as turns progress, and this bounty will remain open until the reward is collected. And also note that the reward is negotiable, if you have another preference.

Me either ... it was Ermor's post that led me to remember Eressil3's art. I was going to try and come up with something of my own, but I was not up to the task. So, I'm forced to link to other peoples art off the web:

.
.
.

A mutated rat from Skaven scurries past the legions of undead, holding in his gripping hand evidence that will make Skaven rich! Rich enough to fight off the hordes of Ulm pouring across the border like waves of rats ... oh, wait a sec... anyway, here is our evidence, now hand over the loot!

http://7deadlysinners.typepad.com/ph...ops_kitten.jpg

vfb March 8th, 2008 06:19 AM

Gah.

Man, I just posted this in another thread.

When you tell your assassin to Assassinate, make sure he's still not on Retreat from when he was sneaking across the border. Gah!

Also, mermen dancers failed miserably when they ran into a couple of Blade Winds. Should have known better than to try the same trick twice.

Even more Gah, should have tried harder to cut off the retreat from Skaven.

Oh well, that rats are still alive and gnawing, at least.

And there is good news! The Big Purple Bat of Ulm (known to his followers as the "Prince" of Death) has been temporarily removed from this world.

Well, Perun the Cyclops King of Caelum, aka 'The Doom of Virgins' is well known of his weakness to females of all races, Scaven included. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif
Shall the infant claim rights to the throne of Caelum send him to our Capitol for a... hmm, education. And give him some salt and pepper for ahmm, traditional welcoming ritual. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...s/rolleyes.gif

I updated the Skaven and Arga Dis mods on the server yesterday. I recommend that at least the players of those nations get the updated versions. Other players probably should as well, to avoid quirky effects in battle replays etc..
