Try from a different email account. If you don't have one, just open a gmail account.

Re: MadCradle2, 11 players, MA - ReSubmit Pretenders

Marignon
Ashdod
Agartha
Bandar Log
Caelum
T'ien Ch'i
Shinuyama
Mictlan
R'lyeh

These nations have a pretender sent in. The name of the game is in the thread title 'MadCradle2'. The game was deleted, so anyone who hasn't sent in a second pretender needs to now. I will set the game to automatic start so that as soon as the last pretender is submitted the game will start.

Re: MadCradle2, 11 players, MA - ReSubmit Pretenders

GrudgeBringer, don't post your e-mail address! You will get spam like crazy.

However, I have just realised that you have ended up using gmail instead of kc.rr.com because I told you to send your pretender from gmail, forgetting that the server would remember that address. Okay... changed. I will have it resend your turn to your kc.rr.com address.

In future you can send turns from gmail with impunity. The next turn will still come back to your kc.rr.com address.

GB - yeah, I turned off the spam filter. It turned out it was catching some people's e-mails. Yours must have been one of them. Took me a while to realise that was the problem.

Hi -- Who is managing this game now?

Marignon is stalingX2, and is played by MadFrancis, who started the game. Only has 4 provinces.

Can we get him set to AI?

Thanks.

Gentlemen, I am leaving Weds morning and will not be back until sometime Monday as I have to go to Aspen to play Rugby.

I can stale ans ee where I am when I get back or I can put it on AI.

Sorry but this can't be helped and I din not intend for this to happen when we started this game.

If I don't hear from anyone I will put it on AI tomorrow night late...

Be sure to post on the MP board asking for a sub before you do something drastic like go AI.
Thanks.

No use, there is no one to change the e-mail address. I guess Mictlan and TC will have a feast now

Foodstamp September 15th, 2008 06:54 PM

Re: MadCradle2, 11 players, MA - Game On!

What makes you say that? I play for fun, not to win at all costs. Why don't you hop your birds through my provinces and take them yourself?

I won't be touching Vanheim's lands while he is gone out of respect, that's not the way I roll.

Psycho September 15th, 2008 07:39 PM

Re: MadCradle2, 11 players, MA - Game On!

Sorry if that came out wrong, it wasn't anything offensive directed at you or TC player. I just meant that one of you two (or both) will have an easier time with one opponent.

I know I would take those provinces and I don't see how attacking a nation gone AI is playing to win at all costs. I hope that doesn't make me dishonest.

Tichy September 15th, 2008 07:58 PM

Re: MadCradle2, 11 players, MA - Game On!

Oops, that's right -- sorry GrudgeBringer.

Psycho -- going AI is one thing, and up for grabs unless someone else has right of conquest (i.e. if the player went AI at the end of a losing war, the winning player rightfully views another player eating up the remaining provinces without permission as a hostile act.)

Foodstamp was talking about not horning in on him while he's unavoidably staling. If Van decides to stay with us and not AI, I think we should all go hands off of him till he gets back. (Easy for me to say, I don't even know where Van is.)

Foodstamp September 15th, 2008 08:01 PM

Re: MadCradle2, 11 players, MA - Game On!

Aye if he goes AI I would gobble him up, but if he wants to come back and play, I don't want to benefit off something that is a missing host's fault and not the player controlling the nation.

GrudgeBringer September 15th, 2008 10:39 PM

Re: MadCradle2, 11 players, MA - Game On!

I didn't want to ask for an extension that long as I would not want to have to wait 5 days (and in a fairly new game at that).

I always try to be up front with my intentions where some would just bail on the game.

I wanted to do what was best for the game and all the remaining players.

I am not at war with anyone and actually I got off to a slow start so this isn't going to help.

However, I am not one to quit easily but I also don't want to go 50 turns trying to just catch up.

I appreciate the Honor among you for not attacking a person who has to stale by cicumstance and not happenstance.

You tell me what you want me to do thats best for the game and I will do it.

BUT, tell me by tomorrow night as if I don't hear from anyone I will AI it.:(

Foodstamp September 15th, 2008 11:29 PM

Re: MadCradle2, 11 players, MA - Game On!

My vote is for you to keep playing. You are not at war with anyone, and I am pretty sure the other players will agree not to attack you this early in the game. When you get back you will be in a weakened position, but that should give you a good excuse to play for fun and try some wacky stuff.

If you go AI your kingdom will be pretty easy pickings for your closest neighbor and may possibly give us an advantage over the other players.

I was not talking about horning in on him while he's unavoidably staling. I assumed he would go AI, since even if he finds a sub, he wouldn't be able to switch him over.

That said, I have no problem with waiting for GB, or letting him stale if he's not attacked, whatever works for the others.

Hi all. I had a bit of bad luck concerning my internet over the last four days, and have not been able to access my emails or the internet. Sorry for any unfortunates that may have happened while I was unreachable. Comcast "promises" that it shouldn't happen again, but of course, what do they care. ;)

In any case, I am just going to try and pick up where I left off. If anyone sent me a PM and I have not repsonded, it's probably because I had a ton in my inbox when I got home from work this evening and found my internet working again. I am trying to repsond to everyone, but please if I dont, resend me anything, important or not.

Thanks and sorry for the disruption if any has been caused. Now to try and salvage a game that has staled four times ...

Hey Grudge,

First off, you're a legend for playing Rugby!

I'm your neighbour and absolutely won't attack you. And MadFrancis - if you need a little helping hand I for one, and perhaps others, would happily pay a little in exchange for good feelings down the road :)

Grudge, it sounds like you being away for a few days may not matter. If there are actually any turns played, I'll keep an eye on your border, and if anyone dares attack... :O

Enjoy the trip! And welcome back MadCradle.

Just so you all know: Marignon isn't doing so well (really unlucky initial independent neighbors). I imagine that after four or five hard fought turns I shall be a nation in memory only. As such is the case, soon I will be passing along the admin status and was just wondering who feels up to the task?

Oh Marignon, buying out our mercenaries? Clever, but now that your accursed immortal fortress has fallen, your time has come. Everyone knows a roaring wave can not be stopped once it has crested.

(Although I might simply be taunting AI now. Huh.) :x

There is still some breath in us left. Don't count us out so fast. If it is all we can do we will be, if not the thorn in your side, at least the sliver in your little toe. Woe to the enemies of Marignon, weilders of nasty toe slivers!

Ershalim September 25th, 2008 08:29 PM

Re: MadCradle2, 11 players, MA - Game On!

Your slivers are fearsome, to be sure. You've managed to keep up your fortress of impenetrable impenetrability with nothing but toothpicks and unsafe floorings!

But soon. Soon the rubber-soled footwear of the soft-skinned amphibious people of R'yleh will topple your cardhouses and paper-cut based standing armies!!

Re: MadCradle2, 11 players, MA - Game On!

Not sure how often folks check this forum...but any objections to me changing the hosting to 48 hours? Just getting to be a fair bit of work now and one turn staled because I took too long doing it. The turns should still go quickly because they'll auto-resolve once everyones turn is in.

I'm kind of enjoying the fast turn around, but I don't have any objections if others are having trouble sending turns in on time.

Given my druthers, I'd move to 48 in five turns or so.

i'm good with anything, just as long as people try to get their turns in as soon as they can.

Re: MadCradle2, 11 players, MA - Game On!

Normally I am pretty easy going on this stuff, but I have been pretty busy at work lately, so 48 hours would be a welcome change to me. That being said, I won't piss and moan if it stays 24 hours for now.

Re: MadCradle2, 11 players, MA - Game On!

James it would be nice if you could put Bandar on AI, he's not playing any more

James243 October 3rd, 2008 12:05 AM

Re: MadCradle2, 11 players, MA - Game On!

I'll make the change to 48, but encourage everyone to take their turns as quickly as possible. In my experience 48 rarely happens - it's just nice to have a fallback when other parts of life make it difficult.

However, the password I was sent isn't working. I've written to MadFrancis - I figure it's just misspelt or something. I'll make Bandar AI once I get that too.

Psycho October 3rd, 2008 01:24 AM

Re: MadCradle2, 11 players, MA - Game On!

James, you sent the ingame message to me instead of Marignon. Anyway I am sure Marignon will have hard feelings since they are AI controlled.

Re: MadCradle2, 11 players, MA - Game On!

You didn't have a CD key violation for playing two nations with the same key?

Ershalim October 5th, 2008 01:31 PM

Re: MadCradle2, 11 players, MA - Game On!

I don't think it happens every time. I think in CD key violations it will randomly stale a turn for whoever happens to be violating; it think it works out so that you can still play, but none of your orders will be carried out on those turns.
