Re: Greenrow: noobs, slowpace -- game on
OK looks like I'm pretty much history.
Just to let you all know whats up,it seems that Oceania has driven Argatha from thier cave system. So Argatha takes over my Capitol province ,much like Oceania has taken thiers. Argatha has an army of about 180 in my ,err ,thier fortress. Good game for awhile, now it's just waiting to be over. |
Re: Greenrow: noobs, slowpace -- game on
Did anyone else see the storming of Ulmish capitol? The wyrm conveniently took a position at the gate and could have defeated the entire attacking army by himself if he hadn't run away.
It seems that the map's description of which nations have it harder is accurate - all of the hard and very hard nations are practically defeated. |
Re: Greenrow: noobs, slowpace -- game on
That's why I tried to make some alliance among the hard/very hard nations to beat the ones having easy time. Ermor and Marverni agreed and we had some peaceful expansion. But Caelum went crazy about a province and everything was messed up for me :D Still a gg it was
|
Re: Greenrow: noobs, slowpace -- game on
That's certainly the way hard nations should have played this game.
|
Re: Greenrow: noobs, slowpace -- game on
I think so. Even because they happen not to be compensated by the superior early game strenght of the nation itself - except maybe for Caelum...
|
Re: Greenrow: noobs, slowpace -- game on
It's been a while.... Good to see the game is still going pretty decently. It was my first MP game, so... I made some awful decision. See you in the chronicle game, Tifone.
|
Re: Greenrow: noobs, slowpace -- game on
My first one too :) Maybe you were a little too aggressive politically :fire:, but I recognize your battlefield tactics were very good ;)
See you in chronicles too... if it starts :D |
Re: Greenrow: noobs, slowpace -- game on
Just a quick observation. This map is to tight for the amount of players on it. There's really no breathing room to speak of.
|
Re: Greenrow: noobs, slowpace -- game on
Not that my position is that interesting, but I will be gone from Dec18th through Jan 5th and was wondering if there is going to be a pause for xmas.
Me staling isn't the worst thing in the world, but I'm not giving up to Kalissa just yet, I'm going to extract every last bit of effort I can from him :) |
Re: Greenrow: noobs, slowpace -- game on
But, I'm nearly ready to storm your capital. You'll miss the best part.
|
Re: Greenrow: noobs, slowpace -- game on
Argatha doesnt seem to have the stomach to finish what they started,so I may go AI soon. Theres nothing I can do,but wait.
|
Re: Greenrow: noobs, slowpace -- game on
Good game GrudgeBringer, if you had deployed that SC God of yours earlier it may have gone very differently. Also thanks for being a trusted ally Skirmisher, sad to see you go.

Re: Greenrow: noobs, slowpace -- game on
Actually, I did it to myself in the first few turns.
I made Naps (which I take very seriously) with folks on both sides and trapped myself. I could have Broke one of them I guess, but this was one of the first MP games I had played and I had made up my mind to start with a reputation of keeping my word and not quitting a game. So I sit there building in a little area waiting for Ermor to make his appearence. I honestly had a GREAT time just jumping around and running Ermor here and there with my Pretender.....(LOL) AND THEN, I jumped into a Province I had no intel on, And promptly ran into his whole nation!! Thanks for the game guys, I learned alot and enjoyed it. Good Luck to all!!! |
Re: Greenrow: noobs, slowpace -- game on
Yeah, I made a similar mistake with NAPs when I first started playing, and I too take them very seriously. Anyhow, glad you were able to enjoy yourself and take away something from this game.

Re: Greenrow: noobs, slowpace -- game on
I'm going to have to ask for a delay of game as my computer is currently out of action. 48 hours should be enough however if it isn't I'd recommend looking for a replacement for me. I'll let you guys know by the end of the weekend.
|
Re: Greenrow: noobs, slowpace -- game on
My Stellar Focus global just disappeared this turn without any message that it has been dispelled. So, I am going to ask first whether anybody cast dispel, before starting to complain on the main forum about a bug.
Also, my AQ killed 156 Oceanian units in her first battle, but she is listed in the HoF with 246 kills. There is some weird stuff going on here. |
Re: Greenrow: noobs, slowpace -- game on
Our admin went AI. We should elect a new one. And also delay the game for Vanheim, since his computer broke down. Who wants to be the admin?
|
Re: Greenrow: noobs, slowpace -- game on
I just postponed the game by 24 hours just in case. Also, I've run roughshod over democracy and sent Psycho the admin password. If you'd rather not do it Psycho, feel free to pass it on. I'm sure we can trust Psycho not to go mad with the power.
|
Re: Greenrow: noobs, slowpace -- game on
I personally welcome our new psychotic overlord. Oh and psycho, it's up to you if you want to delay the game for my sake or carry on without me. As it's going to be at least another week before I get my parts in you might just want to go on without me.
|
Re: Greenrow: noobs, slowpace -- game on
I don't mind waiting a week. I've postponed the game for 48 hours for start. If anybody objects raise your voice.
Also, if anyone else wants to take over as admin, let me know. I don't really want to be the admin. |
Re: Greenrow: noobs, slowpace -- game on
Fakey's computer won't be repaired soon, so he asked me to put him to AI.
|
Re: Greenrow: noobs, slowpace -- game on
How do you feel about calling this game? I think I am pretty much unstoppable at this point. Or do you think you still have some chances?
Ossa, this is directed mostly at you, since Ermor staled last turn. I think he got discouraged after my AQ singlehandedly defeated his entire army. I have a feeling he won't be coming back. |
Re: Greenrow: noobs, slowpace -- game on
Ahem... i just gave Ermor my money and some items as he has a better chance of stalling your advance - I'm surely not in the position to stop you.
I'm ok with ending this game. |
Re: Greenrow: noobs, slowpace -- game on
Then lets wait a little more to see if Ermor shows up or writes something here. If he continues to stale, then we can end it.
Also, if you think that together with Ermor you still have a chance, feel free to call anyone you know to sub. |
Re: Greenrow: noobs, slowpace -- game on
Sorry for missing last turn, I thought I had sent it and missed the 6 hour warning. I'm happy to concede, this was my 1st ever game and while I did well early on my overall strategy was deeply flawed and even now I'm struggling to enter mid-game. I may have some land but Ermor is a bit of a paper tiger really. If you would rather fight on then I won't deprive you of the chance to demolish me, but I don't think I'll be able to put up much of a fight (lots of chaff, some mages, not much else).
I'd like to thank everyone for a great fun game with some interesting twists and turns. Usually I'm quick at picking up games like this, it's a testament to Dom3's depth and complexity that I got my strategy so badly wrong :) |
Re: Greenrow: noobs, slowpace -- game on
Sorry about thinking you disappeared Klepto. I am glad you both concede and we can all turn to more indecisive games. I'll go ahead and declare this game finished. Good game everyone.
I was about to finish all research and my gem income is bigger than yours combined. That's without clams, which I have over 50. And if that weren't enough, I have an alteration 20 bonus site and my pretender and a seraph wishing for gems there every turn, which gives me another 80 free gems every turn. Getting an alteration bonus site with Kailasa is just too much. I also have two sites with sages and a huge death income (skull mentors) which allowed for the explosion of my research. |
