Re: Exterminatus - And the world will burn!
I went with a dual bless (which allowed for solid scales) and the paths I did so that I could have a solid endgame...unfortunately it is hurting me in the meantime when compared to what another bless might have yielded. Your longbow/knights match up excellently with my sacred's and you are making great use of your spies... tough to root them out with my small elite army while I still have to keep troops on the front lines.

Re: Exterminatus - And the world will burn!
So, what do we do about the game?
I'd want to redo the turn but wait first until the llamaserver is fixed. |
Re: Exterminatus - And the world will burn!
You should have just got both a new turn and a message from me, explaining that it's fixed. Did you not get them? (if not PM me, as I may not read this thread)

Re: Exterminatus - And the world will burn!
Ok, disregard what I said, I checked my mail one minute too early. :)

Does someone have water gems he doesn't need and is short on air, fire or earth?
PM me if you want to trade. |
Re: Exterminatus - And the world will burn!
Gah, very frustrating to fight Mictlin. Every time I whip an army he raises an even bigger one.
Nice move with your scout taking the 0 defense province :P |

Mictlan is putting up a good fight, but I believe the tide has turned for his forces facing the might spider armies of Machaka. All those yummy jade maidens don't hold up that well when the ground underneath them simple explodes... And eagle warriors are no match for spider warriors. As evidenced in the attempted siege of the swamp fortress. Time will tell though, time will tell. |
Re: Exterminatus - And the world will burn!
It began in darkness, behind the doors of a crypt sealed and forgotten. Within slept a being of vast power, one who had died and been reborn countless times before this internment. It was only a matter of time before his dreams entered minds eager for someone to lead them.
Fire and death: forces in opposition, or perhaps cause and effect? Interweaving darkness into the worship of the All-Consuming Flame was simple when dark-winged fiends had crowded the skies above The Smouldercone for so long. Guided by visions, the armies of Abysia marched. Trapped between mountains and the sea, their path was not easy. Surrounded by races of base birth war was inevitable. The only question that remained, that of direction, was answered when old decrepit Ermor sent its legions marching through the passes from the east. Madness had gripped that once mighty empire, and drooling old men walked side by side with men long dead. Ghosts held congress with the living, grinning skulls were emblazoned on their shields. There could be only one answer. When the armies clashed the Abysian line merely stood firm, and watched as the Anathemants gifted the forces of Ermor with fire, again and again. Being unholy, they withered beneath this blessing, but clouds of ash and greasy smoke rose high, proclaiming the glory of Abysia. No doubt whoever still remained of Ermor's senile leaders whimpered in terror then, seeing those pillars rise from beyond the mountains. Their time was running out. |

Things look grim. Your spiders proved to be a solid wall against my forces and more recently Man dealt my army and my battle priests a crushing blow as I attempted to take down his temple. |
Re: Exterminatus - And the world will burn!
Well the holy spiders are difficult to deal with in mass, and you had the disadvantage of trying to storm the fort, not a battle in an open area.
Concentrating your Jade maidens (?) just made my magma erruption that much more effective (when it finally kicked in...). Of course I was 'lucky' (or was it skillful guessing at my rear placement?) in that your eagle warriors swamred my useless chaffy archers, and then got pummeled by the spider rear guard. Still you took down a few commanders, though none who were especially important. Unfortunately my assassins have to pull out of their target since there are now 2 armies there and I don't think they are particularly discriminate in whom they attempt to kill :p Maybe I'll just send them on a turkey hunt... ;) |

You chickened out using your Lich because you didnt want to risk losing him in my enemy dominion. Shame on you. And shame on you for falling for my knights of Avalon feint. I bet you didnt think to see those knights at the fight. I hope I get to write up another AAR for the past turns. |
Re: Exterminatus - And the world will burn!
Gentlemen.....my internet at home is fritzy and I don't know how long it will take to get it fixed. I may or may not get it working again this afternoon. I will try and keep up to date one way or another, if I have to make a trip to my daughter's house to mooch off of her internet. Please be patient.

Re: Exterminatus - And the world will burn!
My laptop got shaken around and I can't get dominions to load up. I've tried erasing everything and reinstalling. It gets stuck in the black screen. I don't know how to fix it. I may need some time to get it fixed.
|
Re: Exterminatus - And the world will burn!
OK..got the internet running and all is well. Let's roll......when Rytek gets back, anyway.
|
Re: Exterminatus - And the world will burn!
I think I am going to need a 24 hour extension to work out what is wrong with dominions. Please extend this trun 24 hours.
|
Re: Exterminatus - And the world will burn!
Hosting postponed by 24 hours due to player request.

Re: Exterminatus - And the world will burn!
Probably ought to extend hosting by another 24hrs while Man Rytek gets things figured out. We probably should be on 48hr turns at this point in the game anyway.

Re: Exterminatus - And the world will burn!
An unexpected visitor had requested an audience with the Theurgian Council, insisting on he must be let through as soon as possible;
"These reports must be false! Our trusted allies, the swamp-dwellers of C'tis could possibly not stab us in the back the moment we swifted our attention elsewhere!" "I assure you it is all true. They have struck us on multiple fronts, without warning. Their surprise was perfectly planned and well executed. It will take some time to remobilise our forces against this new threat." "We will have you executed for admiring this betrayal." The nation of Pythium is requesting aid from everyone who can read the score graphs. |
Re: Exterminatus - And the world will burn!
[A letter written to Pythium]
For far too long has the tumor that is Pythium resided in the heartland of the C'tis empire! Benign though our oh-so-complacent southern neighbours may seem, our oracles have divined the truth, and our heralds in their lands have seen that truth made flesh in the army that Pythium has assembled. Who then are the enslaved hydras for, ally? The theurgs? The legionnaires? Are they all to march against your other "ally," the giants of Jotunheim, who reside on your western border? No, we are not fools. This must be done for the future of our people and the glory of our god. All praise to Redherring, and doom and blight on all would would oppose the C'tis! |
Re: Exterminatus - And the world will burn!
Not me.....C'tis....you can come to my birthday party ANYTIME.

Re: Exterminatus - And the world will burn!
Umm...
Man staleing 3 times in a row needs to be addressed. I know he was having some problems with his computer, but I think we need some kind of resolution to this. I know its affecting Mictlan and myself rather directly. |

Re: Exterminatus - And the world will burn!
I have postponed hosting by 48 hours while we look for a sub.
I will turn the nation over to AI unless we find a sub in three days. |
Re: Exterminatus - And the world will burn!
...
AI really sucks for me since we were working well together and have a rather long border, but what happens happens I suppose. |
Re: Exterminatus - And the world will burn!
You might want to let Man stale for another turn or 2 instead of setting him to ai right away...he will still be in a good position (likely he will lose a couple provinces but will still be a good option to sub) and Rytek might still come back. This would also allow Licker to set up some defense/offense along Man's border if necessary so that a transition to AI would be as painless as possible.
|
Re: Exterminatus - And the world will burn!
I will be gone from Wednesday to Saturday for thanksgiving and am hopeful that we can accept a delay. I've had no luck in finding subs privately anyway :p
This would be especailly an issue for me if Man is AI and I have to live through a couple stales with the notoriously insane AI along a 5 province previously 'safe' border. |
Re: Exterminatus - And the world will burn!
It has been almost two weeks now, and no subs have been found for Man. Therefore, I will abuse my great game administrating powers and put them to AI.
I have nothing against delays. Just ask away, post in the thread AND PM me. |
Re: Exterminatus - And the world will burn!
So Man is AI?
Important to me this turn since I am going to grab some border provinces to make a more defensable position. The spiders would also ask for a CF with Mictlan at this point since it seems the nature of our relationship just changed. |
Re: Exterminatus - And the world will burn!
Looks like Oceania is in need of a sub/AI, too.
He has staled now during the long delay and it looks like he will do it again. After the rather desperate fighting I personally wouldn't have a problem with going against a stale nation for some turns, though. :D |
Re: Exterminatus - And the world will burn!
You guys just couldn't share the ocean...had to implode against each other for R'lyeh's cap. :D
|
Re: Exterminatus - And the world will burn!
Yeah, that was really nasty.
When I saw R'lyeh bordering me, I was 1st in most graphs I think and Oceania was close after. I hoped they'd be in the easter waters and I could rush R'lyeh to get a very strong position. Turned out I was wrong and R'lyeh was exactly in the middle of our quite similar empires (both had a kraken sc pretender, equal number of provinces and conjuration and alteration well researched). Interestingly this led to some kind of cold war situation. Whoever controled R'lyeh would be the stronger one and I for one didn't trust him to let me live then (well, maybe that's just cause I won't do it :D). On the other hand R'lyeh had a very tough defense and even if you defeated them you'd be very vulnerable to a third party attack. So I was just sitting next to R'lyeh and waiting for him to make the first move while the upkeep was eating me up and I was falling behind in research. Luckily he did it and with the unhonorable move of attacking the guy who is just trying to kill my worst enemy, I got the better position. (But to make matters worse in my noobieness I put the monster fishes into the first line when storming the castle. They get paralyzed at the gates and block the way for the other soldiers who are killed one by one through far strike and mind blast... ) Well, I guess I have learned quite a bit from the game. |
Re: Exterminatus - And the world will burn!
Well. I am back. I apologize to all of you for my stales. I was right in the middle of a move and my main PC was packed and ready for the move. I was planning on playing on my laptop but the laptops hard drive failed on me and I couldn't get the damn thing running. I just got internet service and my new house. I am sorry for ruining some of your games. I feel terrible about it.

Well, since I am out of the game I have some tips on your game play and what I think you could have done differently.

Re: Exterminatus - And the world will burn!
I have postponed hosting because I will not be available during the weekend.
|
Re: Exterminatus - And the world will burn!
Works for me, i will also be in and out alot this weekend.
Also what are the plans for xmas? I will be gone from the 19th to the 5th and do not know if I will have access to the internet or not. If Rytek is still lurking he can sub for me... |
Re: Exterminatus - And the world will burn!
Turned both Abysia and Oceania to AI for staling the last 5 turns.
|
Re: Exterminatus - And the world will burn!
Great...
Another NAPed neighbor turned AI :p I'm going to be gone from December 18th until January 5th with highly unlikely access to Dom3. I don't know how long or if you were going to pause this game for the holidays, but I haven't had any luck trying to find a sub privately, so I don't know what you want to do. At this point I'm almost considering setting myself to AI since that's all I'm doing right now anyway, fighting AIs... |
Re: Exterminatus - And the world will burn!
Um, they are no longer neighbours of you. :angel
I'd be for a break, too. |

|
Re: Exterminatus - And the world will burn!
Okay, postponed until 6th of January. Hopefully your father gets well.
