Re: Zebra - running

Abysia staled two turns in a row.

Re: Zebra - running

yeah he hasn't responded to PM's either. This is discouraging.

Stretch November 17th, 2009 11:56 PM

Re: Zebra - running

I could use a 3 hour delay to ensure my turn gets in tomorrow night. I've been subbing for the last 4-5 turns. Not sure if Abysia is big or not, but if we want to wait for him to get back I'm down.

Fantomen November 18th, 2009 10:28 AM

Re: Zebra - running

We should make sure that Abysia doesn't stale again. I'd say Abysia has a pretty dececive role to play if we want this game to go on.

Fantomen November 18th, 2009 04:59 PM

Re: Zebra - running

I'll be delaying the game 24h unless I see Abysias turn coming in soon.

Fantomen November 18th, 2009 07:46 PM

Re: Zebra - running

Ok, as there is no sign of Jazzepi I´ll delay the game by 24h.

SciencePro November 19th, 2009 02:05 AM

Re: Zebra - running

Did Jazzepi say he was going to be away? If he gave no notice and isn't responding to anything then maybe we should advertise for a permanent sub. Even with the stales, abysia's position in this game is still very strong.

Fantomen November 19th, 2009 12:32 PM

Re: Zebra - running

Yeah, that's probably a good idea.

Fantomen November 19th, 2009 08:03 PM

Re: Zebra - running

As there is no sign of Jazzepi I´ll stop the game until we find a sub for Abysia. I think you all agree that Abysia is absolutely necessary for the game to stay competitive.

As I border Abysia and have the recources to quickly invade I think setting Abysia AI would equal a win for me so thats a bad idea. Letting it stale is just the same.

So I'll make a thread looking for a sub, please help me find one if you know someone who might want to take over.

I'd also like to offer Stretch to switch to Abysia as an alternative solution.

Stay tuned.

If that's good enough, then I'd be happy to play.

Jazzepi

I guess not quite good enough, eh? Thanks for helping out, Lama!

Re: Zebra - running

Sorry folks but I have to delay this turn too. I just spent more than an hour doing my turn, and then my computer crashed. All orders nullified. I really have to go to sleep now so I'm delaying another 24 hours.

Stretch November 22nd, 2009 11:18 PM

Re: Zebra - running

Oh wow... sucks. I need a delay too, if possible, so it works for me. :)

Stretch November 24th, 2009 04:18 AM

Re: Zebra - running

I had my turn such as it was ready to go and my internet had dropped off. :( I finally got it back (it was a problem with equipment somewhere on comcast's end), but it was too late. Not that it mattered much (or at all) in the grand scheme of things, I just feel bad asking for a delay and then still not getting the turn in.

Stretch November 26th, 2009 03:04 AM

Re: Zebra - running

On the one hand, I staled again (thanksgiving conversations with family took longer than I thought). On the other hand, my nation is tiny, I'm waiting for Ulm to take another stab at me (so that I can deliver a massive beating), and he didn't attack this turn. So good job, whoever else is keeping Ulm busy, and I'll make super sure to get this turn in.

Fantomen December 1st, 2009 07:53 PM

Re: Zebra - running

Sorry for the delay. But my turns are pretty damn huge now, and I'm not in a position where I can afford to stale or make mistakes. I might need to set us on a longer timer.

Re: Zebra - running

The people celebrates, long will this day be sung in the gloomy inns of Ulm. The day when destiny hung by but a thread of hope. The day when ulm's defenders stood outnumbered against armies of superior numbers, against a foe composed of former allies, whose treachery were as black as their hearts, and yet they prevailed.

Heh heh, that was probably the most epic battles I´ve had in MP so far.:)

Re: Zebra - running

LOL, I scripted vortex of returning @ Old forest but after a long hesitation I resent the 2h file and cancelled it. So they got annihilated:(

I think now it's time to vote Ulm as the winner. What do you think abut it?

I've been playing Utgard as a favor to the other players in this game... it has no chance to win. Whatever you guys think is fine.

Re: Zebra - running

lol. i can keep his vamps back by blood saccing. that just leaves a million gargoyles and a bunch of storm demons and all the other stuff that's been generally owning me. yeah, i could fight for a while, but he's owned me and patala's armies. he deserves the win

Fantomen December 6th, 2009 07:01 AM

Re: Zebra - running

I am very honoured:), but I agree. As I suffered no real losses and have all my resources intact. I would be able to launch a full fledged offensive right away and you probably couldn't stop me at this point.

Luck played a big part though, and I´d say losing just one of those big battles could have left me vulnurable, or forced to turtle up.

I'd just like to hear Sciencepro's opinion before wrapping it up.

Yes I agree. Nice job Fantomen!

Good game everyone.

The remaining commanders in Utgard salute Ulm on their victory. They have retreated to their last redoubt under the watchful eyes of their remaining skratti, norn, and ice devil generals. While they may have to begin paying taxes to their new Ulmish overlords, the indomitable spirit of the giants shall never be quashed.

Let the world rejoice, peace at last. After years of war the world unites in worship of Santa Sangre(holy blood). A new dusk, a darker future for everyone. Let the hospitals be replaced by Igors, let the cities be ruled by councils of vampire elders. Send your innocent daughters to the party and throw yourself to the wolves as the feast of endless night raves across the world.

:ghug:

Thank you everyone for playing, it has been a deligthful adventure. Special thanks to Frozen llama and stretch, who stepped up as subs and gamesavers. Also my first multiplayer victory, wohoo! :first:

Hope to see you all in other games, as friend or foe.

Male until proven otherwise?

But really, it's no secret there are several female dom3 players here. We just don't make a big deal about it.

Re: Zebra - finished, Fantomen wins!

No problem, it was fun. I hadn't got a chance to play with ice devils before this. The 30 or so storm demons that showed up in my lands toward the end gave me pause, as Utgard had no air capability and no rings of tamed lightning. After a kind donation of 20 slaves from another player and some research into evocation I was going to try a massive deluge of blade wind + shadow blast to take out their guards quickly while my werewolves tried to rush in after the fact and let the bells of cleansing do their work (or get lucky with blood vengeance... not sure if spell focus amulets help it work or not). It would have probably resulted in dead werewolves, but with all of the fireworks I was hoping that some of the later scripted evocations would start hitting the storm demons that I wanted to hit, letting the ice devils mop things up.

There was still the fact that I only had 2 provinces and was just being contained, but at least it would have kept the Well of Urd safe from the usurper, should it be attacked. ;)
