Hello,

i see that you are looking for a sub. I'm up for that. I'm sure i count as a newbie, since i've mostly played dom1 a few years back. I recently got interested again and bought the dom3. I've played some single player games and now i'd like to try some multiplayer ones.

I also won't refuse to try to punch Ulm as Mictlan )
I'll sent my email to tarrax in case if Hurnio won't start to play Mictlan for some reasons.

Hurmio,

Welcome to the game. I changed Mictlan's e-mail address to yours. Request a turn resend from the game page to get the turn: http://www.llamaserver.net/gameinfo.cgi?game=Tarrax

Kref,

If we need a sub again, you'll be the first.

I PM'd Svamptripp and asked for his game password. I haven't received a reply yet. I'll let you know as soon as I receive a reply but I'm not sure what to do if he doesn't reply.

T,
You may want to pose that question on the main thread. I'm sure it has happened before.

Hurmio was able to sub for Svamptripp so we are back to normal schedule now. I'll postpone the turn 24 hours just in case.

Hi,

would it be possible to delay today's hosting? I won't be able to play my turn in time, because of the Epiphany. A 24h delay would be great, if possible.

i managed to play the turn in time.

Nasty Tartarians, we hates them!

Anyway, i think i need more time to play the turns. Is it possible to swich to 48h hosting cycle or skip the friday and saturday hostings? Ofcourse, if you guys oppose this, i can manage the turns as they come. I'd just like to have some more time for them.

Re: Tarrax - Newbie Game (running) - EA 4-8 players on tiny/small random map

A long standing non-aggression pact was shattered as war mongering Arco killed Ulmish innocents without warning in the heart of Ulm's territory.

"They were beautiful ladies but they killed us all!.. um. Except for me! " said one shocked peasant who had approached the visiting mages in hopes of selling his stunted rutabagas.

"Dressed to kill 'dey was 'an dey did!" said a toothless fishmonger.

The attacks have energized a reluctant, peace loving Ulmish populace into war footing.

Re: Tarrax - Newbie Game (running) - EA 4-8 players on tiny/small random map

Ha! The well named "Ulm Ministry of Propaganda" doesn't lack for cheek calling themselves "reluctant" to go to war and "peace loving". We are sure the ghosts of the people of Marverni, Fomoria, and Sauromatia would have something to say about that, along with all the murdered innocents in Mictlan. Our noble leaders have decided that Arcoscephale could not stand by and let this blight overrun the free world and our glorious agents and troops have struck a major blow into the very heart of Ulm's conquests.

Freedom shall prevail!

Well,I think we might as well call it a day and declare sansanjuan the winner. Unless either of you wants to draw it to the bitter end?

I'm easy either way (though my 2 hr turns are driving the wife to distraction... ;) .

Thanks for the fun! It was nice trying out a new nation in the end game. I got butchered pretty fast, but i don't mind.

Hurmio,
You played very well from a tough starting position. I have new found respect for devils (as my dead tarts can attest to). Those Tzitzimtl (sp?) were absolutely astounding tart killers. I finally figured out I needed a ring of poison to get to poison 200 so after invulnerability my poison resist would still be 100%. I think the Tz devils were most effective when you had them attack on the first turn before tart's buffs had kicked in. If you had even one more I probably would still be fighting them. Odd that the game said "Ulm routs" and my Tart kept fighting.. May post on that. I shudder to think what a half dozen raiding parties with 5 or six Tzs in each would do.

jmb : Per your earlier thread let me know if you want to play on. I understand if you want to keep going and try out some new tactics. That said my other game is getting "hot" and I wouldn't mind devoting more time to it.

No, that's ok we can stop here. Congratulations and thanks everyone for a great game.

So it looks like we have a winner. Congratulations sansanjuan. I'd like to thank everyone who played. I hope to see everyone in Tarrax2! I might organize that soon.

JMB,

Your "Ladies" gave me fits  . It would have been risky but I wonder if you would have risked single raiders and hit more territories in the initial surprise attack (the overall strategy was excellent in any event).

I found I had little chance raiding you as your flying PD smeared my stealthy test raiders before they could light up any buffs..

Did you have fog warriors researched? That is an excellent spell for the air queen and would have made the magma kids very very tough.

Great game all. I learned a lot from all of you. Let me know if anyone wants a turn file.

Well, I tried that against the AI and I found that losses were very high when using them singly. The best compromise appears to be to use them in pairs, which can take out most reasonable PD plus the odd roving commander and bodyguard.

Thanks :) Too little, too late unfortunately.

Actually, I had just about maxed out the research in everything but blood. OTOH, it was the first game where I really reached late game (not counting SP which is too easy by that point) so I'm not really familiar with the truly powerful spells and tactics.
