I expected you to be a man that keeps his word, Lingchih. I am really disappointed. Huh, I did not script even one of my mages. I will not forget it.

I could never have won otherwise. We were at war, after all, not some warm and fuzzy NAP.

The remaining commanders of Pan look out on the desolate slopes of the Caelum homeland. "Damn, we wasted 10,000 troops to take this"? says a grizzled veteran. Still, we can rebuild it, and make it a viable capitol. Of this our commanders are sure, and the Prophet is confident.

But, queries the commander, what is our future?

Only time will tell, answers the Prophet.

Mighty Pangaea, looks upon it's troops and ponders? What shall we do with them? We can barely feed them all.
An astute general says, "send them on the giants" the giants cannot kill them all, and our supply woes are answered.

The Bull agrees.

Arg! Stupid scout prophet snuck in and watched the battle for c'tis from the sidelines! Those Sirrush having regen and reinvig would probably have made the difference in chewing through that last wave of longdead. Ah well, profitable turn nonetheless. Anybody in the market for really big wolfskins we'll give a discount if you buy a full dozen...

Angerboda mourns the loss of her litter of pups who unfortunately, spent too much time in the Nicolodeon School of Creativity Daycare Center.

We applaud C'tis for continually foiling the attempts of the old fogeys of Arcos from taking their mosquito infected lands! May the pox flourish!

Well, since I'm not going to be able to climb back to the game, I might just as well write my "good-bye" post right now (I'll likely play to the bitter end thought, just to keep that nice C'tis dominion up as long as possible ;)).

I decided to go for a slightly different C'tis strat this time and spend a lot of time recruiting poison slingers and summoning animals (since summon animals gives only 100% PR troops when used in swamp terrain, they make for a good meatwall for the slingers). I really didn't have to use this trick against Bandar Log (seriously, if you start near Bandar, you attack him, it's such a no-brainer-play). I managed to kill his SC pretender with a somewhat lucky blow and Eagly Eye'd shamans with Ethereal xbows were enough to decimate his elephants.

Unfortunately Arco attacked just as I was busy mopping up the remains of BL. Since most of my troops were busy, Arco really managed to creep deep into my territory. And just when I thought that I'd started to beat him back, there come another wave of teleporting pd raiders. Sirrushes and their 100% PR was also very nasty suprise, especially when taking into account my earlier strat choice.

I spent a lot of time and gems forging Bows of Botulf and more ethereal xbows (c-c-combo!), which would have allowed me to wield my shmans both as communion slaves and Sirrush killing sniper machines. But of course, then Perpetual Storm came up, making all that effort practically void. *sigh*. Facing no other options but defeat I decided to make Arco pay dearly for my lands and IMHO I managed to suprise Baalz couple of times (although it was mostly me who was taking the beatings).

Pangaea wanders liesurely into the giant lands, and wonders why they do not fight back. One thinks they may be otherwise occupied. Heh.

Re: Warcry - new semi-rand game :)

Ahh. We realize why Jotun did not fight back now. They have all the artifacts, and can easily destroy us. Well, screw that, we'll take our chances with Ermor.

Charon the Great wins his first battle in Cocytos. He shall yet escape the deadly Claws.

Charon the Great wins his second battle in Kokytos. A middling affair vs. two 2 frost fiends. Not really worth posting a screenie.

Charon will escape the Claws, tougher than ever. The question is, where will he emerge from the underworld?

Lingchih February 22nd, 2010 05:12 AM

And, Ermor sits again. We did declare war on you, did we not? Bring those undead hordes. We are waiting.

Quitti February 22nd, 2010 09:26 AM

Re: Warcry - new semi-rand game :)

No, you cancelled your nap, you did not declare a war. We have no intention to attack at least yet. When the attack comes, it should be overpowering, and you still have way better chaff than me, even though I have quite a lot of more of it...

Ahh, a stalemate then. Well, so be it. We are a patient, long lived people.

Charops the Great defeats an Ice Elemental in Kokytos. Once again, not really worth posting. He's getting quite a few stars though. Woe be it to the province where he finally escapes to.

I have a corrupted turn file. :( i think the only thing is to rollback and rehost right?

Quitti February 25th, 2010 03:31 AM

Re: Warcry - new semi-rand game :)

I presume you have tried to get a new turn file from llamaserver?

Zeldor February 25th, 2010 07:45 AM

Re: Warcry - new semi-rand game :)

Yeah, try that. If not, catch me on IRC and we will solve that.

Lingchih February 25th, 2010 09:04 AM

Re: Warcry - new semi-rand game :)

Yeah, roll it back. Charops got killed by 15 winter wolves in Kokytos. He can't end it like that.

Frozen Lama February 25th, 2010 07:04 PM

i tried a resend. didn't work

Lingchih February 26th, 2010 12:39 AM

Re: Warcry - new semi-rand game :)

And, on re-host, Charops was instead killed again. Too bad you can't rescript them while they are trapped. I could have easily gotten him out if I could have re-scripted him. I'm beginning to think the Claws is not such a bad spell. I lost all three of my commanders that were sent there.

LoloMo February 26th, 2010 02:54 AM

Re: Warcry - new semi-rand game :)

Did he fight 15 winter wolves again on rehost? I wonder if it's random encounters or not.

Lingchih February 26th, 2010 03:03 AM

Re: Warcry - new semi-rand game :)

No, he fought four frost fiends this time. He brazenly tried to charm them each turn, although if he had just buffed up and fought, he would have won.

Pangaea declares war against Ermor. Yes, it was tacit before now, but now it is official.

And so, silly Ermor kniggits, we taunt you a second time. Your mother was a hamster, and your father smelled of elderberries. We fart in your general direction.

Ahh, so you finally attacked, Ermor, well, let's get on with it then. I hadn't actually thought you would take the bait, but good enough.

Re: Warcry - new semi-rand game :)

The undead host finally attacked this turn. I can't say I did much to them.

It's probably Ermor's game to win at this point. I can't stop him. It was a a fun game though.

Well, I shall kill Ermor. It will be the death of me, but I will do so.

Quitti March 29th, 2010 08:13 AM

Well, you didn't really have anything else but starving maenads inside. One mage or so doesn't do much. Though, I don't know what rest of your mages can do against that stack either, but still. At least they can produce some real losses.

Too bad BF-wide spells can't really hurt or buff those skeletons. Too much of them - a 'feature' I didn't know about before this game.

Yeah, the "feature" is a quite nasty bug really, but I knew about it. I've faced thousands of undead before. Just not much I can do about it.

And that battle was so nasty on the processor, I had to abandon my PC (which I usually play on), and go watch it on my Macbook Pro. The PC just choked after a few rounds and wouldn't playback anymore.

And there will be mages in the battles to come. I was getting some important last minute research done, and decided to just sacrifice that castle. I had hoped to do a bit more damage though.

A pittance.

Yeah, maybe 500-1000, haven't counted, and not planning to really. Nothing one or two turns of reanimation doesn't fix.

Ermor is about to rule the world now. Not sure if anyone cares. I don't. I will of course, fight to the end though.

See you Micah. Good game. And that was one helluva battle you fought at the end.

And, after watching the "Solarions" in battle, those guys are way overpowered, I think.

LoloMo April 9th, 2010 09:34 PM

Re: Warcry - new semi-rand game :)

Yup, good game Micah! Never thought spirit helmets could be so damaging. 70 lightning bolts per spirit helmet over the battle is a fantastic deal. I'll be using them in the future :D

I'm not sure if the Solarions are overpowered. I equipped them not to die by being immune to everything and to have regeneration, at the expense of damage output. They were also backed by an army of mages casting buffs. I'm actually disappointed they killed so few.

Yeah, could be. I wasn't really watching their damage output, and I've since been told it is quite low. I was just surprised at their high mobility and survivability.

Well, I tried my best, but damn, Eriu is just all sorts of awful, especially with no way to counter darkness. Was hoping to get better luck with those charms. At least I can stop wasting time on the game now.

Quitti April 10th, 2010 07:21 AM

Re: Warcry - new semi-rand game :)

The Solarions seemed pretty good, and well, that 56 movement really seems kind of... lots. Either way, Micah made a valiant last stand :)

OK. Send them. I doubt I can stop them, but it might be an interesting battle.

Burnsaber April 19th, 2010 05:05 AM

Jotunheim, it was about time for you to come and put me out of my misery. It just took you, what, 30 turns?

Anyways, this has been a odd game. I was practically dead in turn 40 already, but Baalz just couldn't get a decent siege on my capital. I'm not sure why, perhaps he got Atlantis on his back at that point? So I just mulled around and sometimes sent raider squads to annoy people. I really loved how I was able to take 4 provinces with 12-15 city guards. No one was intrested enough on our front to even just slightly boost PD to prevent that "raiding squad" from rampaging across the realm :D.

Also, I'm now pretty convinced that MA C'tis dominion is really not much fun. It's not OP by any means, but I really did not feel comfortable with the advantage it presented when I holed up in my cap and it likely wasn't much fun to fight against it. Not sure what the fix could be, since the dominion effect is not moddable.

Frozen Lama April 19th, 2010 08:17 PM

Re: Warcry - new semi-rand game :)

Thanks for sticking it out Burnsaber! your fight was a lot of fun to watch, although i lost many scouts to disease in the process. :)

I only attacked atlantis for real after he had mysteriously gone AI. so i guess you were just too scrappy for him

LoloMo April 19th, 2010 09:25 PM

Re: Warcry - new semi-rand game :)

Good job fending off Arcos! I saw that you couldn't take down the Arcos giraffe, but neither could they take down your walls. Plus he needs to shuttle around priestesses to heal afflictions on his commanders!

Baalz was building up a huge force of vinemen a province away from your capital. I had to waste a lot of troops with guerilla fights against him, because I don't want the lizards to go down. Their miasma was the only thing protecting my eastern flank. So every turn, I budgeted a portion of my resources to ensure that Arcos couldn't take down C'tis.

But then after Arcos went AI, I found that I couldn't commit enough resources to take down C'tis, because everything went to fighting Eriu.

But now Jotuns are finally able to move against the massive Ermorian threat!
