We will still have one or two hosts before xmas, so get your turns in!

Hi,

I just had some connection problems, it should be OK now ...
(And no, my position is not a good one ... But that's interesting to see mistakes to avoid in the future, even if I got some very bad luck, too :) )

Making mistakes teaches you not to make more of them :) - If it seems too many people would stale this turn, I'll start the xmas holiday season early and postpone it by 120 hours or so.

Merry christmas to everyone, enjoy.

Allright, everyone got their turns in (first time in around 5 turns!) in time. Next hosting will be on 28th, around 3pm EU time unless someone requests an extension. I will be gone on 31st dec -> 3rd jan so we'll be holding another pause then also, so everyone will have time to spend new year with their families/friends/however they choose.

Re: Fractures - LA Game. We're going!

The false god of TC is slain. His corpulent one-eyed form was burned without ceremony as a warning to those few who debased themselves to worship such a monstrosity that dared peer over the walls of their Capital. With all serious opposition in the area destroyed, TC's capital is sure to fall.

Despite our military victories there, our own capital remains besieged by a large cavalry and archery force. While the source of their retched Ancestor Vessels has been dammed, they still have a ready supply of almost 60 of the foul creatures. To end this threat once and for all, Atlantis requests aid in the form of death gems. Although destroying the TC threat is a public service, if necessary we will trade W, N and A gems for D gems, but would gladly accept gifts of the precious gems given out of gratitude for our efforts on the world's behalf. Do not let the spectre of TC's might rise again. Now is the hour to finish this deadly foe. Such an opportunity will not come again.

I will be gone from 31st to 3rd, so next hosting will be on 3rd of January, 2010. Quickhosting is still on, so if everyone gets their turns in, it'll host, but the turn host will still be 120h until the 3rd day, unless someone needs more time.

Happy new year from the Counts of Ulm, may blood flow and your crops wither!

You made *friends* with *Ermor*? You are a blight upon the world and deserve to die (although hopefully not at Ermor's hands). Maybe someone more sensible than you will step up, put you out of your misery, and do what you should have done to start with (namely, kill Ermor).

Friendship with Ermor is a terrible mistake. It may already be too late to stop the undead tide from overrunning the world.

Mictlan expresses its moral support for Jomon, in their battle against the evil Ermorian menace! Let us know if you need any items (Herald Lances, maybe?) forged, I will provide them at cost.

Mictlan encourages other nations to support Jomon in their struggle against the undead, and to forgive them for their attempts to make peace with the zombie threat.

Re: Fractures - LA Game. We're going!

Mictlan accuses Utgård of the following crimes:

- Invalid occupation of Marignon territory,
- Failure to apprehend the Gath cannibals who are residing in their lands,
- Disrupting the development of anti-Ermorian technology,
- Destruction of Marignon armies, which could have been used against Ermor,
- Being a bunch of big nasty aggressive giants, just like Gath was.

Mictlan proclaims that we reserve the right to:

- Enter Utgård lands to apprehend the members of the Gath exodus,
- Return the lands of Marignon to their rightful owner,
- Maintain a defensive position in the lands of Utgård, as is necessary to prevent the spread of Ermor, should Jomon fall, or be seduced by the wiles of the undead princes.

Verily i tell you, these are grave crimes against the nations of the world, and should be justly punished with righteous anger.

As much as the rising might of Mictlan worries the humble Atlantians, we can not fault their reasoning. We especially support the return of Marignonese lands to their rightful owner.

The proud nation of Utgard wants the world to know that we were not the aggressor against Marignon, rather, they attacked us first, in a surprise attack. Any military actions against Marignon were retaliatory. Be that as it may, if Mictlan is itching for a fight, then they will get one. They are however, the clear aggressor, and should terrify nearby nations as much as ermor.

Now that is funny... Clearly Utgard is not the aggressor... it is in no way possible to be considered agressive when capturing and forting provinces adjacent to another player's capitol, right?

Anyway, the humble nation of Marignon offered terms that would have more than compensated for the loss of ONE PROVINCE - with no response.

I warned that retaliation would earn Utgard nothing but misery... Lidjis has fallen. I do not issue idle threats.

Alpine Joe January 6th, 2010 03:00 PM

Re: Fractures - LA Game. We're going!

Terms? Utgard received no diplomatic envoy from Marignon, merely a silent attack upon our territory. Twist it however you wish, but Marignon struck the first blow. Utgard will strike the last, however.

Raiel January 6th, 2010 03:31 PM

Methinks you'd better recheck your PMs... I sent one with a very generous compensation plan right after that attack. Water under the bridge now, though.

There's nothing at all terrifying about Mictlan. We are in harmony with nature, and just want to be left alone to worship our dear Bidet, without the threat of being overrun by a horde of zombies.

It is true our landholdings have increased somewhat substantially following the eviction of the Gath cannibals, who launched an attack without warning across our border. And as we chased Gath into the land of Marignon and Utgård, those lands too came under our stewardship. It was in the lands of Marginon that we discovered the terrible truth about the ferocious giants of Utgård. Utgård is either a slave or unwitting pawn of the Ermor menace. It's irrelevant either way. And Marignon must be returned to its former glory, for Marignon are champions of the light, and Ermor will wither before their righteousness.

Mictlan has made its intentions clear, and shown itself to be an honorable nation by giving Utgård fair warning, where none was required.

Our offer to buy your slaves.. er, voluntary female workers still stands. We can offer up to con 4 items in exchange. We also are looking for a thistle mace, should someone have one laying around.

Well, Jomon doesn't seem to be coming back either, so I'll look for a sub - we wouldn't want their neighbors to gain too much ground without resistance, would we?

That being said, if anyone knows a sub who might be willing to take on the position, ask them to PM me. I'll add time to the host if it seems we won't get a sub before the next host. If no-one steps forward in a few days, I'll get someone to turn him AI.

Notification from the main marketing team of Ulm:

Greetings, good fellows, and not so good fellows! May you be a giant, a man, or a pile of bones, we are now open to business! The nation of Ulm is selling DWARVEN HAMMERS with the extraordinarily low prices of 14 earth gems per one, or 40 blood slaves (limited time offer). We already have a few preorders, so they will be filled before your order will be processed, but nonetheless they will be fulfilled in the most timely manner possible. Negotiation to the price is also available, but as the markets are what they are, we cannot give too much way into our prices. We can also offer other items. Inquire within.

The gentle priests of the jungle have finished teaching the peasants of Gath in the error of their ways. With the last believer's educated entrails decorating our altar, the cannibal god has been banished to the void.

But that is not the only news!

This month Mictlan's army advanced through the lands of Utgard, and came face to face with death itself. The western provinces of Jomon are overrun, and the legions of Ermor stare at us with unblinking eyes! The fight against true evil begins now, even while much of Utgard's forces still remains to assault Mictlan's flanks.

The Jomonese people will come to the grave knowing that their God was willing to fight. A few months ago, this could not be said. All the people of the land of Fractures owe you their thanks.

And you may have an ally. The mad minions of Svamptripp, formerly known as Svamptripp have stolen in in the night and attacked us in broad daylight! They have stabbed us in the back, right to our face. They have given us a reach-around from... oh well, you get the point. The war you have all really been hoping for has begun. Maybe the ridiculous Svamptripp has received assurances that he is not hated as much as we apparently are, but he would have to be insane to believe it.

How doth he lie to thee? Let me count the ways:

1) "Fair Play" - such a public announcement is only fair play if this is a lie and I haven't contributed as requested.

2) "Gracious" - I'm an @$$, and most don't even need me to point out how ridiculous an accusation of courtesy aimed in my direction would be.

3) "Contribution" - Again, most probably don't me to spell out how desperate my situation is - and how badly I need to trade. No contributing here.

Now, noble Ermorians, if you have anything of worth to offer (other than the unavoidable war with your neighbors), we will happily trade with you. We like to trade. You don't? Then go eat chrysanthemums!

Re: Fractures - LA Game. We're going!

Well, both capital sieges were fairly close, and had I not had an E9 blessing, those ancestor vessels wouldn't have stood a chance. Now it would be nice if commanders would make sure that they actually bless themselves and other sacred commanders when told to bless five times. I had four or five celestial masters there that were not blessed throughout the battle. It was close enough that a few more lightning bolts might have made the difference.

A sad tale of woe from Mictlan. A peacefully employed bus driver was providing transit services to several _ahem_ young ladies, when a ****ing huge lightning bolt burst from the clear blue sky and burnt him to a cinder. Okay, so we actually don't care very much about the driver, but we had a soft spot in our hearts for those girls, who perished when the subsequent driver-less bus smacked into a tree, bounced off, burst into flame, fell off a cliff, and then plunged into a lake.

We are miles and miles away from the Arco bastages who caused this mayhem, but we hereby declare war on them, as a symbolic gesture, if nothing else.

DEATH TO ARCO!

Atlantis is endeavoring to make true your statement at this moment. Unfortunately, our own bus drivers seem equally vulnerable, so some of the transportation plans for getting to the front have had to be rethought.
