Re: Scourge of Nations
No problem.
I just need Hurmio email. |
Re: Scourge of Nations
Galou, you should change the message of the llama game's page to reflect that your taking back the administration of the game
|
Re: Scourge of Nations
Ok, ok.
|
Re: Scourge of Nations
PM sent to Galou. Also, Pangaea staled last turn. Are you still there Hylobius?
|
Re: Scourge of Nations
Hi,
as OdeOde here said, i'll be subbing him for the coming week. I'll naturally honor all his deals and i will be playing according to his game plan. |
Re: Scourge of Nations
You are welcome.
I hope you could pay back the 500 golds I lend to Ode a few turns ago. |

Sure, i'm certain he won't mind. :) |
Re: Scourge of Nations
Ooops. I just connected to the boards and found out I had received some PMs for this game. Some in january... Unfortunately, the mail address in my profile was an ancient one I'm not using anymore, so I didn't receive any notification and didn't connect...
Apologies to those I may have been unwillingly ignoring. :( |
Re: Scourge of Nations
We shall hereby declare war on your unholy nation.
|
Re: Scourge of Nations
Oh noes. :(
We're of peace. Always. |
Re: Scourge of Nations
Dear friends,
After a bloody war, the army of Caelum has been defeated by the clownest pretender of the world, I named Bob Dole. Althought we will fight to the bitter end and to the last feather, our marvellous blessed High Peaks will be soon pollute by the many dejections of mushrooms smellings agarthians. That is very sad and dirty. To help us a very little in our last stand, we want to sell some of our shiny treasures: The Krupp bracers 1 Dwarven hammer some skulls mentor (the best war advisors, you should test them) Make an offer by MP. We accept gems (especially air, astral and death), money or a little villa far from Agartha. Goulabelle of Caelum. |
Re: Scourge of Nations
Pangaea's Capitol just fall in front of the glorious armies of Mitclan !
|
Re: Scourge of Nations
@Agartha
You should really clean up you mess before causing some more : I have Chelms that spoil my water all over ! @Chelms Why don't you avenge yourself by attacking Agartha instead of my poor bloody nation? I have cause far less trouble to you than them ! |
Re: Scourge of Nations
Wait? Chelms is still causing troubles? How did they escape my cage? Oh yea, Caelum. CAELUM!!!
Anyway, he is probably trying to reestablish his empire were he think I can not attack him. But that is untrue. I can in fact attack underwater provinces. I got those capabilities. |
Re: Scourge of Nations
I wasn't trying anything, those were just the only few provinces I was able to grap easily. If you can finish me already I will finally be out of this game. How many turns is it now already that I'm hanging on to 1 (well, now 3) provinces?
|
Re: Scourge of Nations
Well my troops are limited in number and my enemies many. It is easier to prioritize sending them against Caelum who is causing real damage to me, than it is to send them against Man whom is turtling in his last castle and refuse to come out. If you would only be more of a pain in the arse to me I would put more priority on killing you.
|
Re: Scourge of Nations
I don't have any serious troops anymore, so coming out of the castle means a certain dead. I'll hang in there a little longer until you get bored of it and find a way to crack it.
|
Re: Scourge of Nations
Could Agartha and Mictlan fight away from my sacred lands?
|
Re: Scourge of Nations
Ho ... you still have lands ? Sorry, wasn't aware of that ... :D
In fact underwater provinces become so unhealthy for me, i prefer to walk on land a few ... |
Re: Scourge of Nations
In fact only the sky is our real realm. Lands are for overwhelming insects.
|
Re: Scourge of Nations
Did you people know? The best unit in the game is Agarthas Iron Corpse. They are great. They can even beat F9W9S9 blessed Jaguar warriors.
If you cast Darkness...and Will of the fates....and Army of Lead...And Mass Flight...and outnumber the enemy two to one. And do you know what the best part is? They are immune to master enslave! The more you know. |
Re: Scourge of Nations
I didn't expect master enslave to work well (I've got already pwn with this ^^) but i do not expect so much overpowered iron corpse :D
Really well done ... I guess I am in a really bad position now :/ |
This is the value of prudent scouting. I saw what your pretender did in Arco so I built my armies to resist it. I probed the forts before I attacked them so I new what kind of opposition I would face. Rock-bag-scissors etc.
|
Re: Scourge of Nations
But now i know what you got :D
|
Re: Scourge of Nations
I do not fear you Argatha !
outside of battle, your super iron corpse are as weak as litlle children, i will burn them to ashes ! :D (but why does it have to take my precious oak place :'( ) |
Re: Scourge of Nations
Hahahaha! Thats great! But there is one little problem with that plan. Your pestilent religion is not all that popular with people outside of your capitol and without faith there can be no fire! I am happy holding of my attack on your capitol for some time. I can always entertain myself by taking the lands your turtling has left unprotected.
As for why the oak? Well fires of such intensity needs high quality wood to burn well y'know.:D |
Re: Scourge of Nations
Mitgard's capitol is now mine !
|
Re: Scourge of Nations
Yes, well played to Danakh! Underhanded, sneaky but well played :)
If only those last two commanders would have died to mage duel and not survived feeble minded at 1 hp... |
Re: Scourge of Nations
not all my commanders got path in astral :p
|
Re: Scourge of Nations
But all your Divine Bless casters did....
|
Re: Scourge of Nations
Goulabelle is very annoyed, the last 3 months the besiegers of her magnificent tower has changed 3 to 4 times! How could you setting up a warm greeting in these conditions!
Well, going back to my knitting. |
Re: Scourge of Nations
Party at your tower are just the best ones !
|
Re: Scourge of Nations
But what would life be like if no one cared about you? Seriously, we are just addicted by your presence. And you know we will always be back.
|
Re: Scourge of Nations
Galou, you really should wait for us to come and not going out without knowing who is there :D
Anyway, Mitgard is working hard to give the victory to Agartha ... but i can't blame them for trying to take back their capitol. I just wonder where go all the tartarians that come to break siege for Mitgard and then vanish ... :D |
Re: Scourge of Nations
Well, I am effectively happy not to be a virgin since Bob will soon pierce my defences.
I give myself to lead an anti-agarthian alliance. PS: It is fabulous to see Midgard in good way to retake its capitol and to see the bloodbaths at my bedroom's door. Goulabelle of Caelum. |
Re: Scourge of Nations
And so falls the mighty Castaru in the midst of battle. His head shall become a fine artifact I think! What was your name again? Carcator? Well now you are going to conquer Mictlan for me!
Anyway, you held out much longer than I thought you would. Honor be to you. I would probably have gone AI long ago in your position. Or tried to break siege. Good job Awund. You were a thorn in my side for a long good while. |
Re: Scourge of Nations
Mitgard have successfully taken back his capitol !
I guess it is over for me. Does anyone think he can stop Agartha or can we declare Corinthian as the winner ? (he will soon get Mitclan, Caelum and Mitgard points i guess) |
Re: Scourge of Nations
Not me :) Abyssia is fairly close to taking my Capital but I can make it costly for him. And Abyssia won't be strong enough to stop Agartha - who is only 2 from his capital anyway - as are you Mictlan! But neither of you have put Abyssia under any pressure to save me :(
I really like the victory conditions of this game. And had Vanheim not managed to retake his capital I think Mictlan may well have won even if his capital was eventually taken by Agartha. Abyssia's capital was very close to Mictlan. So even with Agartha overrunning Mictlan's Empire he had a chance of seizing it and winning as I don't think there would have been enough capitals left, especially if Abyssia took mine. But with Vanheim taking back his capital that will make an extra capital available (and reduce Mictlan by one). If no one can stop Agartha though I am all for stopping now. While I have enjoyed the game, my game was over dozens of turns ago. And my last turns are likely to take a long time. I have many mages and communions/sabbaths to script for my capital defense. It ceased being fun a long time ago - I am only playing because I don't want to quit and scew the game. But my attacker can't win the game either and neither Agartha or Mictlan have chosen to try and seize my (or Abyssia's) Capitals so it all seems like a pointless waste of time if we are all just waiting for an inevitable Agartha win. Due to the victory conditions a big crusade vs Agartha won't work (and that's good - too many games feature a mass gank of the leader by a bunch of cautious turtlers and this game has shown that needn't be the way). So I say congratulations to Agartha. And lets call this one a win for Corinthian :) |
Re: Scourge of Nations
I have been scouting Abysia quite a bit and his power is quite formidable. They have massive flying demon armies and bloodhunters in almost every province. But yea, because of the game rules punishing turtling, it is highly improbable that he will be able to win. The only way for him to win would be to somehow transport armies to the other side of the map to take Caelum/Midgards capitols.
In fact I think he realize this himself. You notice that he is not trying to siege your capitol? He is just building forts. Why is that? Its because of Mictlan. If Mictlan takes either Midgard or Caelum, and Abyssia takes Utgård then Mictlan has won. There would not be enough victory points left for anyone to get more of them than Mictlan. As for mictlan, I thought his tactics strange for a while. Why did he not pursue blood more throughly? But then I realized his plan was to take Midgard/Caelum before anyone could think to stop him and that he was sacrificing future power to win in the present. This plan failed, but only barely. Caelum sure got a nice show. And what ever is up with Mictlan stealing my shoes. Who'd steal a dead mans favorite shoes anyway.:( We could ignore the victory conditions and I could have a showdown with Aby. I have certainly been planning and building for such a war. But the Late Game is the least fun part of dominions imho. And it is doubly boring if you dont have any chance of winning. I would understand if no one else wanted to sit around and watch from the sidelines. Weather this game is over is up to you guys. |
Re: Scourge of Nations
Unless Abyssia concede the game, there are no in-game reasons to stop it (at least this turn: Agartha and Aby coud get the VP for Caelum, Midgard, Utgard and Mictlan's capitols).
...even if I would like to launch a new game. |
Re: Scourge of Nations
Arg, I (Abysia) regularly checked the thread on Cyber boards - which is plain dead - but not this one.

There's no way I can prevent Agartha from taking Caelum or Mictlan in the next few turns... after that, I can still fight to get Agartha's Capitol and have a triple even. Honestly, I don't think I stand a chance, especially after Agartha's latest global. But if everyone is OK to keep playing, I'm ready for more turns. :) |
Re: Scourge of Nations
Sorry for the double post, can't find the edit button.
So edit the latest post :p : yes, of course, I concede the point, so there's no point for continuing this game - except some more battles. :) |
Re: Scourge of Nations
So it is over, congratulation to Corinthian !
|
Re: Scourge of Nations
I agree, congratulations!
|
Re: Scourge of Nations
Ok, Game finished.
Agartha win. Congrats to Corinthian. I thought our mid-game war would have crippled his chances but not at all. He barely notice it. I like the victory conditions too and will launch a new game soon. |
Re: Scourge of Nations
Yes,congrats. Back midgame, I was pretty sure that Mictlan would eat everything, you greatly turned the situation to your advantage. :)
|
Re: Scourge of Nations
In fact my first war against bogarus wasn' very succesfull; launched too early, it cost me most of my magic research for 10-15 turns.
I have turtled then a few and jump on Pangaea when i have the opportunity for my second victory point Then a long war against Mitgard started ... I though that taking every fort and province and the way would only give the capitol to Agartha so i just take Arco's city and them send my forces directly on Mitgard to take it. A send a second force on Caelum to clear the way with the idea of teleporting my main defending army on it ... but learned the hard way that oracle can teleport but not cast astral travel :D Migard was taken at high cost, reinforcement was not available due to the very long distance so I could not keep it (Agartha succesfully prevent me from taking surrounding fort) and I wasn't succesfull in Caelum I almost not doing blood as I was thinking it would take me too much time and gold to rush with my nice triple blessed army :) |
Re: Scourge of Nations
Thank you all for a most entertaining game. I really liked the rules. Especially the random nations/hard research combo. Both forced me to consider new tactics I would not otherwise have considered.
I personally think that Mictlan is the strongest nation in the Late Age and I was half certain that they would win the game when they attacked both Midgård and Pan at he same time. The reason I believe this is because the one other time that I have won a major Dominions game I was playing Mictlan. And once I had my blood economy up running I was mostly untouchable. The fact that Danakh chose to sideline blood for a rush was the thing that did him in. It would have worked against Midgård, but the fact is that my best Tartarian champions and my Grue, all could fight an arbitrary number of jaguar warriors and win. If Mictlan would have had access to spells like "Life for a Life" or "Claws of Coctytus", things would have been much harder for me. The hardest war for me was probably the one against Caelum. In fact, this war was almost the opposite of the one against Mictlan. Against Mictlan I fought a bigger empire by using troops and methods he was weak against. Against Caelum I fought a smaller nation who used troops and tactics that *I* was weak against. Agartha simply aren't built to fight against Caelum and the only reason I won, was that when the war started, I had twice the amount of provinces and forts that he had. In fact, if Caelum had only attacked me about 3 turns earlier, before I had time to fully neutralize and digest Man, Caelum would probably have won. And Galou. I apologize. I could not find a way to lose gracefully as we agreed I would. :) |
