Re: Hats\' Off!

Yes, good game meister_miagi. I (Ermor) was really torn about attacking you. You had been a great neighbor all game, but after I saw everyone else ganking you, well, I figured I had to have a piece of the pie too.

Well, that small piece of pie was very costly. I lost the only groups I could call armies in totality, and gained only three provinces. Provinces I cannot defend, now that Caelum swoops down on us.

In retrospect, I should have ignored the calls to attack you, and instead fortified my eastern border with Caelum. After all, we knew he would attack sooner or later. Now Caelum sweeps over us like a great high tide, and we can do little to stop them.

Ahh, well. We will fight to the end, as always.

Thanks, it was fun up until the last few turns. I didn't think the Forge was considered that powerful, most of the good items were already forged anyways so it didn't do much good.

The mage who cast the Forge and the Well got diseased on the turn he cast it and he had only 1 hp left on the turn he was killed. I probably should have killed him off sooner myself, so everyone come after me!

Re: Hats\' Off!

The Forge allows not only constr 8 artifacts at a huge discount, but bloodstones, clams, and items for your thugs.

And with the forge and a dwarven hammer, you get a 75 percent discount on your robe magi, etc. It is not on the same level as Burden of Time or Arcane Nexus, but in the games I have played casting the Forge brought about immediate attacks-and many consider the casting of the Forge
to break existing naps as well.

The casting of Arcane Nexus, Burden of Time, Utterdark, Wrath of Gods all definitely break existing naps, and if cast, the player can expect attacks from every side the very next turn-nap or not.

In my other mp game, Epic Heroes II, Atlantis cast the Forge. Marignon and I who were at war and bitter enemies made peace the very same turn and both attacked Atlantis the next turn. And other Nations joined the attack as well.

So the Forge is not a global to cast lightly. If you tell a strong neighbor in advance you are casting it, and promise to make him stuff, you may gain an ally that will help fight with you as he directly benefits from the Forge as well.

lol, the AI did an excellent job, ignore my script and cast marble warriors on my unfrozen troops http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/evil.gif This is the funniest battle I have ever seen http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...s/rolleyes.gif

Ctis

With most every nation at war, or having been at war, Ctis sits alone building up with his vassal, Man. When you look at the score graphs, you may as well add Man's stuff to Ctis mountain. Though that is not necessary, as Ctis tops the charts by miles in his own right.

Look at the province, research, fort, and dominion score graph, and there is your clear winner of Fallacy. Without even having to dirty his hands much. Outstanding job, especially on the diplomacy side. Though I think the North had it a tad easier than the South with 3 nations on ai from the get go.

Should we crown him now or play a bit more? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

In my opinion, it will be extremely hard to stop C'tis winning from here. Has he defeated anyone other than nations that were AI?

Pythium

C'tis is not known for our sense of humor, but the Bakemono sure know how to make a lizard laugh!

Pythium has not only higher gem income than C'tis, they also have the Sickle Whose Crop Is Pain. C'tis had a scout in a barbarian province just this month, and Pythium picked up 30 death gems from that battle! That's in addition to their gem income that's already higher than that of C'tis.

C'tis has pretty much maxed out on research, but it doesn't do a whole lot of good when C'tis doesn't have casters for Fog Warriors and nice stuff like that, which Pythium has. Did you not see the battle in Vanheim's capitol? Gem income is absolutely the most critical aspect of the game at this point. Well, research too, but it's only critical to have enough research, not to max out every single path.

C'tis can summon and GoR one Tartarian a turn, and maybe give him some okay gear. Pythium can summon at least three a turn, three just from the Sickle income alone, and they have the Aegis, Mage Bane, the Sickle, and nearly all the other good artifacts, except for the Chalice and the Scepter of Dark Regency. And it's not hard to take those away from me, with Pythium's ability to Wish.

Not that Pythium needs the Chalice, since they have Gift of Health up. Not that Pythium needs Tartarians, since they've got a legion of Harbringers in the Hall of Fame. But if they do want some Tartarian buddies for their angels, they also still have had Mother Oak up since the beginning of the game, so GoR is not a problem for them.

The only thing standing between C'tis and destruction is Invincible Agartha, who blocks the route of Pythium into our swamps which they seem to covet so dearly.

Re: Pythium

Pythium's only mages with death magic is its pretender, and 1 lamia queen. pythium's highest d mage of the 2 he has, is a level 3 d mage. Unlike Ctis, Pythium has no gor tartarians, or immortal demilichs.

Pythium highest s mage is 4s, and cannot even sniff wishing. Plus, pythium in an earlier handshake deal promised not to wish your chalice away, and pythium does not break his word or forget his promises.

Pythium tried unsuccessfully to trade ryleh for a 5s starspawn-in case Pythium ever did want to wish for something. Ryleh said he did not have any for trade. So Pythium's highest s mage remains 4s, and only a fool would empower a mage with extreme old age from 4 to 6. And i certainly have not.

While Pythium does have a large gem income, a huge chunk of that is from gale gate, and no one ever won a big mp game on the back of air gems. In crunch time, the game will be decided by s and d gems. And my d gem income is meager despite the sickle. There are not many barbarian provinces in the South, which is why i had to snag one in agartha's area(with his permission). btw, he did not snag 30, but 23.

So on most every turn, the sickle is idle. But if anyone in the world needs barbarians cleared from a province, send me a message. I am your man!

Besides I was trying to crown you champion VFB, you should accept your crown. you are much too modest.

Pythium is also the only race to promise not to cast arcane nexus, bot, utterdark, and astral corruption. The big fear of s gems is arcane nexus, and i have removed that weapon from my arsenal.

Besides who could siege those castles in that disease dominion?

Also tartarians have a wide variety of magic, and many of them have 3 air. So you do in fact have mages that can cast fog warriors, or any other combat spell your heart desires.

Re: Pythium

Well then, it is time for the world to see which of Pythium and C'tis is stronger then.

We must compete, to see who shall have the privilege of sitting at the right hand of Invincible Agartha's table, and who shall be seated on the left.
