Perhaps my subconscience trying to help out my ego. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/blush.gif

But, you gotta be thinking this (to quote a Clint Eastwood movie): "I know what you're thinking punk! Did I fire 5 times or did I fire 6 times?"

Do I have 50 ships waiting for you on the hole out of Wurtuy? Or is there just one ship with a "special" decal on it sitting over a star? And, above all, which direction is it? Or are there TWO surprises? And if so, which direction spells instant doom and which gives you a chance?

Now, you gotta be thinking this: "IF I move out with my 35 ships in Wurtuy toward one of the 2 holes, will I be opening a hole to my inner systems? Do I have enough to keep his 50 ships from passing by my defenses if I should move?" You see, it's the fun of the game...staking your empire's life on one decision.

OK, so I have become overly dramatic...hehe...it's the fun of the game.

Actually, I don't have a thing waiting in either location and am just bluffing to give me time to get a fleet together in a Last ditch effort to stop any raid you may be planning.

OK, I'll give you the truth: I have a little...not much, but a little. A little in each place. It's intended to slow you down till I get a "toy" in place.

Ahhhh, who am I kidding? You don't believe a word of what I have said. BUT, I will say this: I have spoken the truth in a portion of this message...you'll have to figure out which part and which parts go together... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

Actually, you seem to have forgotten a part Slynky: "I have spoken the truth in a portion of this message" is not necessarily true, since there is nothing allowing us to determine that this statement is indeed true.

Assuming it is true, the said statement could very well be the only true part in your message, since it would qualify as being a "portion of this message", and would be your truth. Likewise, your faulty memory with regards to this game with KOTH could also be the true part of your message, with the rest filled with propaganda and falsehood.

Obviously, you could have lied about this part as well, which would have two consequences:
- Either nothing in the message is true, since there is no portion of this message that is even remotely linked with the truth,
- Or all your message is true, as there is more than one portion of it that is true.

Since a portion is not defined, it would encompass everything from "a single word" to "all but a single" world, leaving only these two alternatives of "all is true" and "all is wrong" for the gentle reader.

Therefore, we have adequately proved that the only way to figure out the Truth is to open the gamefile while playing the Trithian Empire. And even then, he might be lying to himself as well, which would make the Truth of this game impossible to grasp by any of the players.

*Scolds Slynky* Tsk, you shouldn't let them in our beloved secrets! At least, you didn't mention our 500 baseships featuring Massive mounted Wave Motion Guns, the Talisman and our Organic Armour, did you? 'Twas my dearest surprise for them, and I would hate to ruin the fun for them by telling them in advance what to expect. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

Q:
How to tell when Slynky's Lying
A:
His lips move http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

You are travelling through a region you have never before been in, attempting to fine the village on the other side. You do know that 2 tribes live in the region. One tribes always tells the truth. The second tribe always lies. You come to a fork in the road. at the fork, a member of each tribe is standing. You know they are from different tribes, yet you don't know which is which. Since language is not a barrier, how do you ask for directions & be sure of the results?

<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">A number of ways (well possible questions)...here's one: Ask the first tribe which fork to take and then ask the second tribe if the first one asnwered his question. If the second tribe says yes, then the first tribe is the liar. (and vice versa).

<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">That is an old AD&D question, but I think you forgot the part where you can only ask 1 question to 1 of the villiagers.

Old as the hills. Ask one guy which way the other guy would tell you to go. Either way, the answer will be wrong, so take the opposite one as the answer.
