Re: Toasting Undead - Part 3
Well anyway Thufir, I know Boron had most of his forces there and was told you had an army of over 500 demon type troops so I would consider that "a lot." You do not have thousands of troops running around so I would consider the army that fought Boron a lot of your forces. I guess I am mistaken since you said I was wrong so I have to assume that was one of your small armies but the army graphs showed otherwise or maybe I am wrong on that also and I need someone to teach me to read a graph now.

Re: Toasting Undead - Part 3
Anyway in other game news. A new turn is up.
Abysia is AI. Arco is AI. I don't recall Frosted Flake staling but Thufir is the game manager and has probably been keeping tabs on it. I have counter attacked Ryleh, who invaded me Last turn, and his province count has gone down to the small amount Pangaea has in a single round. Ryleh's main army has defeated 450 of my undead at some losses but still has the vital troops of his army. Pangaea has defended against one of my storming attempts on his capital. AI Arco is invading Mictlan. AI Abysia has attacked me with 300 vampires and my dominion just pushed into that province. I am attacking the vamp army with a flames from the sky, followed by about 10 ghost riders, followed by an attack of one of my armies lead by my prophet. |

I guess this means Ermor wins. |
Re: Toasting Undead - Part 3
Bad times for the nation of pangaea.
With Abysia going AI this means no more backup in the fight against ermor. Looks like we have to take the same stance as Arco, definding the capitol no matter what. Maybe those 4 Bane Lords I charmed Last turn will help me http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif |

What perhaps you have not heard is that I did this with my secondary army. The primary army which dusted so many of your undead with near zero losses, was still one turn away from the fight. I did, however, take significant losses in this fight, I lost 2 Heliophagii and a number of Devils and Storm Demons. I lost no Demon Lords, and not the Arch Devil or Air Queen and none of the casters. I will work on some screen grabs for this battle, although it was not as colorful as the Last one I did, and it's kind of painful to replay (even on fast forward, it goes slow, due to so many units - esp. casters). What was interesting about this one is how effective hoards of mechanical men can be. Boron had something like 600 mechanical men. Their lightning immunity made my Storm Demon Army rather more irrelevant than I would've cared. Had I given Boron just a few more turns to prepare, this could've easily become a devestating force! For my part, I used just about every non-fire global spell in the book! I did have a fire or two caster there, but I limited myself to Flame Storm, and did not use any of the battlefield spells, as I did not want to damage my Storm Demons. |
Re: Toasting Undead - Part 3
It turns out my abysia.trn file got deleted when I set Arco to AI. Does anyone know if old .trn files are saved on the server (either by Dom II hosting sware, or via code running on Esben's server)?

Re: Toasting Undead - Part 3
Thufir it would be cool if you were able to retrieve pics of that battle because I didnt get any details from Boron about it. All I saw was a battle report of Boron losing all his commanders and 600 troops and you losing 500 troops and a few commanders.
The mechanical men are a good counter to the storm demons and I had already started summoning them with 5 dedicated casters a turn at my capital. I also have a few blood casters and was wishing for blood every turn where I was going to do a long term strat of soul contracts for devils. I was also going to make a vampire army for home defense and offense too because of my strong dominion spread. I was also goring a tartarian a round on top of summoning 1-2 tartarians a round with the occassional 20% chance to get a commander. Even with the dozen tartarians I had lost before I had another 20 at my capital with about 8 already commanders. I started to change equipment on my tartarians to be immune to lightning and fire instead of only fire. I also had my 2 aq's still sitting in my capital. I heard about the equipment your aq used and was going to wish away the sword like I did the chalice before the war. Even if I couldn't beat your armies and limited everyone to just their capitals I was going to try to dominion everyone out. My temple count already exceeded 50 and I had forts and temples under constant construction still. Ryleh's lands are going to be another 15-20 provinces I can temple. My goal was to go for the extremely long win like at christmas time lol. Because even with all my losses my army graph continuously always went up along with my strong dominion. I was going to go for the long win because I knew I could outproduce you even with your 60% site because of my massive gem income plus hoarding. Boron has fought against me in other games so he can confirm that I always hold a lot back to make myself seem weaker because I dont like to show all my forces right away. I also like to play around in the fights and test things when I am in a position to do so to help me in further games. I am just saying my plans because you turned AI Thufir and nobody in the game has a chance, especially with Ryleh attacking me it is going to increase my base of power even more. |
Re: Toasting Undead - Part 3
turn 82...only ryleh left

Re: Toasting Undead - Part 3
Seems only Ermor and pangaea are still human controlled.
The outcome is clear, so I congratulate Aku. Nicely done! |
